## Pricing

from $10.00 / 1,000 document parseds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Invoice & Receipt PDF to JSON Parser

Reads digital invoice and receipt PDFs and returns structured JSON: vendor, invoice number, issue and due dates, currency, subtotal, tax, total, emails, VAT IDs and line items. Every result includes a **totals check** (do line items add up to the subtotal, and subtotal plus tax to the total?) and a confidence score, so you can auto-approve the clean ones and review the rest.

### Features

- US and European number and date formats ($1,234.56 and € 1.234,56)
- Line items with description, quantity, unit price and amount
- Totals check and confidence score per document
- No AI or OpenAI key needed, and no data is sent to third parties
- Optional raw text output for your own parsing

### Use cases

Accounts-payable automation, bookkeeping and ERP imports, expense tools, n8n/Make/Zapier invoice workflows.

### Limits

Digital PDFs only (scanned invoices need OCR first). Unusual layouts may return partial fields with a lower confidence score.

### Input example

```json
{
  "pdfUrls": [
    "https://slicedinvoices.com/pdf/wordpress-pdf-invoice-plugin-sample.pdf"
  ]
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "pdfUrl": "https://example.com/invoice.pdf",
  "status": "ok",
  "documentType": "invoice",
  "invoiceNumber": "INV-1042",
  "issueDate": "2026-10-15",
  "dueDate": "2026-11-14",
  "vendorName": "Northwind Studio",
  "currency": "USD",
  "subtotal": 3780,
  "tax": 314.12,
  "total": 4094.12,
  "lineItems": [
    {
      "description": "Consulting (hours)",
      "quantity": 10,
      "unitPrice": 120,
      "amount": 1200
    }
  ],
  "totalsCheck": "pass",
  "confidence": 1
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event, so you pay only for results.

**$0.01 per document parsed** ($10 per 1,000). Files that aren't invoices or parse with low confidence (under 0.5) are returned but **not charged**.

There is also Apify's standard run-start fee of $0.00005 per GB of run memory (a fraction of a cent per run). The exact prices are always shown on the **Pricing** tab. You can cap any run with the *Maximum cost per run* setting.

### Use it from code or no-code tools

Every run can be started from the Apify API, the Apify Python/JS clients, or connected to n8n, Make, Zapier and Google Sheets through Apify integrations. Results download as JSON, CSV, Excel or XML.

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("tidyfold/invoice-pdf-to-json").call(run_input={'pdfUrls': ['https://slicedinvoices.com/pdf/wordpress-pdf-invoice-plugin-sample.pdf']})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item)
```

### Support

Found a bug or need a field added? Open an issue on the **Issues** tab. Tidyfold maintains these tools daily and usually replies within 1 business day.

Direct links to digital (not scanned) invoice or receipt PDFs.

## `includeRawText` (type: `boolean`):

Add the full extracted text to each result, e.g. to feed your own AI step.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "pdfUrls": [
    "https://slicedinvoices.com/pdf/wordpress-pdf-invoice-plugin-sample.pdf"
  ],
  "includeRawText": false
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Invoices returned by the run (one item per row).

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "pdfUrls": [
        "https://slicedinvoices.com/pdf/wordpress-pdf-invoice-plugin-sample.pdf"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("tidyfold/invoice-pdf-to-json").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
