## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Recent Jobs Scraper: Indeed & LinkedIn

**Fresh jobs from Indeed or LinkedIn for any search and location, with the full job description, for about $0.40 per 1,000 jobs.**
Ask for jobs posted in the last few hours, days or week, and get clean, structured data in minutes. No accounts, no cookies, no setup.

### Why people use it

- **Job boards & aggregators** - keep your listings fresh with only the newest postings.
- **Recruiters & sourcers** - find roles as soon as they appear, and see which companies are hiring.
- **Job seekers & career coaches** - track new openings for your searches, with descriptions and pay ranges.
- **Analysts & researchers** - salary, skills and demand trends by city and role.
- **AI and automation builders** - feed fresh jobs into your agents, alerts and dashboards.

### What you get per job

Title, company, location, **posting date**, **pay range and interval when the listing shows one**, remote flag, job type, job URL,
direct apply link when available, and the **full description**.

### Simple to use

1. Pick **Indeed** or **LinkedIn**.
2. Add up to 5 search terms (for Indeed, `OR` and quoted phrases work) and a location.
3. Choose how recent: from the last hour up to 7 days.
4. Run. Export as JSON, CSV or Excel, or pull the results through the API on a schedule.

### Pricing

**Pay per job returned.** No monthly rental and no start fee. Set a maximum cost per run and the Actor stops at your limit. If a search is blocked
or finds nothing, the run ends as **Failed** and you are not charged for jobs it did not deliver.

### Built to be dependable

It runs through rotating residential connections and retries a blocked search once on a fresh connection. Requests are spaced out (LinkedIn about
20 seconds between searches) and capped per run. It never retries in a burst.

### Example output

```json
{"site": "indeed", "title": "Machine Learning Engineer", "company": "Example Co", "location": "San Francisco, CA",
 "date_posted": "2026-10-11", "min_amount": 180000, "max_amount": 240000, "interval": "yearly", "is_remote": false,
 "job_url": "https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=...", "description": "..."}
```

### Good to know

- Data comes from each site's public job-search results. Check the site's terms and your local rules before use.
- This Actor is not affiliated with or endorsed by Indeed or LinkedIn.
- Open-source core: JobSpy (MIT).
