## Pricing

from $0.80 / 1,000 company enricheds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Domain to Company Enrichment - Firmographics, Contacts & Tech Stack

Give the actor a list of company domains and get back one structured company profile per domain, built only from what the company publishes on its own website: name, description, industry, country, address, phone numbers, emails, social profiles, founding year, team-size hints, tech stack and more.

It is made for sales, RevOps and data teams who have a column of domains (from a CRM, a list export, a scraper) and want to fill in the blanks without paying for a large database subscription.

### What you get per domain

| Group | Fields |
|---|---|
| Identity | `companyName`, `companyNameSource`, `description`, `tagline`, `logoUrl`, `faviconUrl`, `language`, `website`, `finalUrl` |
| Location | `countryGuess` (+ `countryGuessSource`), `addressStreet`, `addressCity`, `addressRegion`, `addressPostalCode`, `addressCountry`, `addressText` |
| Contacts (optional) | `phones` (E.164), `primaryPhone`, `emails` (MX-checked domains first), `primaryEmail`, `emailStatus` |
| Social | `linkedinUrl` (company page), `twitterUrl`, `facebookUrl`, `instagramUrl`, `youtubeUrl`, `githubUrl` |
| Firmographics | `foundingYear`, `employeeRange`, `employeeCount`, `industry`, `industryConfidence`, `secondaryIndustry`, `businessModel` (saas / ecommerce / agency / marketplace / content) |
| Technology | `technologies` (up to 25: CMS, ecommerce, analytics, CRM, payments, chat, CDN/hosting from headers ...), `mailProvider` (from MX), `ssl` |
| Signals | `hasRobotsTxt`, `hasSitemap`, `hasPricingPage`, `pricingPageUrl`, `hasHiringPage`, `hiringPageUrl`, `blogFeedUrl`, `blogLastPostDate` |
| Status | `status` (`enriched`, `partial`, `unreachable`), `attributesFound`, `error`, `enrichedAt`, `source` |

Every field is always present in the output; missing values are `null` or an empty list. Treat every value as a best-effort reading of a public website, not as verified truth.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `domains` | array of strings | `[]` | Domains or URLs, one per row. Paths and `www.` are ignored, duplicates processed once. Up to 5,000. |
| `datasetId` | string | empty | Optional dataset (for example the output of another actor) to read more domains from. |
| `datasetField` | string | `domain` | Field holding the domain/URL in each dataset item. Dotted paths like `company.website` work; `domain`, `website`, `url` are tried as fallbacks. |
| `maxPages` | integer 1-4 | `3` | Pages read per domain. The homepage is always read; contact, about and imprint pages are added only while data is still missing. |
| `includeContacts` | boolean | `true` | Collect phones and emails. Turn off for firmographics only. |
| `includeFailed` | boolean | `false` | Add free rows for unreachable/partial domains (never charged). |

### Pricing

Pay only for companies that were actually enriched (pay-per-event). Apify's free plan credit lets you try the actor at no cost.

| Event | Price | When it is charged |
|---|---|---|
| `company` | $0.001 ($1.00 per 1,000; Gold $0.80) | One domain with a company name **and** at least two other attributes found (description, logo, country from address/phone/locale, address, phone, email, a social profile, founding year, size, industry). |

Not charged: unreachable domains, pages blocked by robots.txt, "partial" domains with too little data, duplicates, and anything beyond your maximum cost limit. Example: 1,000 domains where 800 are enriched = about $0.80, with platform compute included.

### How it works

1. Each domain is tried over HTTPS, then `www.`, then HTTP, with an honest `DomainEnrichmentBot` User-Agent. robots.txt is read once per site and respected; requests to one site are spaced out.
2. The homepage is parsed for JSON-LD (Organization, LocalBusiness ...), Open Graph and meta tags, microdata, links and visible text. Contact, about and imprint pages are fetched only while something is still missing.
3. Phone numbers are parsed and validated with libphonenumber and returned as E.164. Email domains are checked for MX records.
4. Industry is scored by rule-based keywords (42 industries) on title, description and headings; the score becomes `industryConfidence`. Business model hints come from simple signals (pricing page, cart links, "our services", marketplace wording, blog feed).
5. Technology comes from script URLs, HTML markers, the generator tag, cookies and response headers (about 100 signatures).
6. Progress is saved; after a restart or migration finished domains are skipped and never charged twice.

### Limits and honest caveats

- It reads public HTML. Sites that render everything with JavaScript, hide behind bot protection (Cloudflare challenges), or disallow crawling in robots.txt come back as `partial` or `unreachable`.
- `countryGuess` is a guess: address in structured data beats phone prefix, which beats page locale, which beats the country-code TLD. Generic TLDs (.com, .io, .ai) are not used.
- `employeeRange` is only filled when the site states it (structured data or phrases like "team of 50+"). It is not an estimate from LinkedIn or other databases.
- `industry` is a keyword heuristic. Check `industryConfidence`; low values mean weak evidence.
- Technology detection shows what the homepage reveals; it can miss server-side tools and may show tools that are loaded but unused.
- No LinkedIn, Crunchbase or other third-party sites are visited; social URLs are only the links the company publishes itself.
- This is not a replacement for a verified B2B database: no revenue, funding, or named employees.

### Legal and ethical notes

- Only public pages are read, with an honest User-Agent, robots.txt respected and low request rates.
- Business contact details can be personal data (for example `firstname.lastname@` addresses). Under GDPR and similar laws you need a lawful basis and must honour opt-outs. Use `includeContacts: false` if you only need firmographics.
- You are responsible for how you use the data, including anti-spam rules and website terms.

### FAQ

**What does "partial" mean?** The site was reachable but fewer than two attributes (plus a name) were found. The row is free and shown only with `includeFailed`.

**Why is `companyName` sometimes null?** The actor does not invent names from the domain. It needs JSON-LD, `og:site_name`, a similar tag, or a title that clearly contains the brand.

**Can I feed it the output of another actor?** Yes: set `datasetId` and `datasetField`.

**Are phone numbers validated?** They must parse and be valid for their country according to libphonenumber, which does not prove the line is in service.

**Why did one domain return only a homepage fetch?** Extra pages are read only while data such as address, phone, email, founding year or size is missing and `maxPages` allows it.

**Can I limit my spend?** Yes, with the maximum cost per run in Apify. The run stops softly and reports `stoppedReason: "budget"`.

**Does it handle non-English sites?** Basic support: German, French, Spanish, Italian and Ukrainian/Russian phrases for founding year, headcount, imprint and contact pages. Industry keywords are mainly English with some German terms.

    print(item['domain'], item['companyName'], item['employeeRange'])
```
### Integrations
Connect the actor to Make, n8n, Zapier, Google Sheets or Airtable through the Apify integrations: send new CRM company domains to the actor, then write `companyName`, `industry`, `countryGuess`, `linkedinUrl` and the tech stack back to the record. You can also chain it after another actor with `datasetId`.
