## Pricing

from $1.60 / 1,000 bank records

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Ukraine Banks Directory API — official NBU bank register: MFO, EDRPOU and status as JSON

Ukraine Banks Directory API returns the National Bank of Ukraine bank register as clean JSON: MFO, EDRPOU, legal and short names, status, opening and closing dates, address and phone. Look up a bank by MFO or EDRPOU or monitor the register for status changes and liquidations.

### What it does

- **Search** the register by name, status or region.
- **Lookup** banks by MFO or EDRPOU for payment validation and KYB.
- **Monitor** new banks, status changes, closures and removals - alerts only, charged per change.
- Official source only (bank.gov.ua), no scraping.

### Who it's for

- Payment, billing and ERP developers needing MFO to bank mapping
- KYB and compliance teams watching bank status
- Fintech and treasury tools
- Accountants verifying counterparties' banks

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `mode` | string | `search` | What to do. `search` - list banks by name, status or region `lookup` - find banks by MFO or EDRPOU `monitor` - report new, changed or removed banks `selftest` - health check (for schedules) |
| `nameContains` | string | | Part of the bank name in Ukrainian or English, e.g. 'Приват' (search, monitor). |
| `statusContains` | string | | Part of the status text, e.g. 'ліквід' for banks in liquidation (search). |
| `regionContains` | string | | Part of the region or city name (search). |
| `mfo` | array |  | 6-digit MFO codes to look up. |
| `edrpou` | array |  | Bank EDRPOU codes to look up. |
| `emitBaseline` | boolean | `false` | If off, the first monitor run only stores a snapshot. |
| `maxItems` | integer | `200` | Stop after this many billable results (a spending cap per run). |

Modes: `search`, `lookup`, `monitor`, `selftest`.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "mode": "lookup",
  "mfo": [
    "322313"
  ]
}
```

### Output example

Every row is flat JSON with `status` (`ok`, `not_found`, `invalid_input`, `source_error`), `source`, `sourceUrl`, `fetchedAt` and `dataAsOf`.

```json
{
  "status": "ok",
  "source": "National Bank of Ukraine - bank directory (bank.gov.ua)",
  "sourceUrl": "https://bank.gov.ua/en/about/supervision/banks",
  "fetchedAt": "2026-10-25T08:00:00Z",
  "dataAsOf": null,
  "mfo": "322313",
  "name": "АКЦІОНЕРНЕ ТОВАРИСТВО \"УКРСИББАНК\"",
  "shortName": "АТ \"УКРСИББАНК\"",
  "edrpou": "09807750",
  "bankStatus": "Працює",
  "city": "Київ"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event — you pay only for results, never for empty or failed lookups (`not_found`, `invalid_input` and `source_error` rows are free).

| Event | What is charged | Price | Per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|---|
| `bank` | Bank record | $0.002 | $2 |
| `change-event` | Bank change alert | $0.02 | $20 |

Apify platform usage (compute, storage) is included in the event prices. Set *Maximum cost per run* in the run options to cap spending; the Actor stops cleanly when the limit is reached. Apify subscribers on Bronze, Silver and Gold plans get automatic discounts on the event prices.

### Use with MCP, n8n, Make and Zapier

- **Apify MCP server** — add `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=tiger19935/ukraine-banks-directory` to Claude, Cursor or any MCP client so an AI agent can call this Actor as a tool.
- **n8n / Make / Zapier** — use the Apify integration, pick *Run Actor*, select `tiger19935/ukraine-banks-directory` and map the dataset items. Saved Tasks + a schedule turn it into a monitor with webhooks.
- **API** — `POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/tiger19935~ukraine-banks-directory/runs` or the official Apify clients for JavaScript and Python.

### FAQ

**Is it legal to use this data?**
The Actor only reads official open data from the National Bank of Ukraine (bank.gov.ua). NBU open data is public. Every row carries `source` and `sourceUrl` so you can attribute it. No captcha, login or personal data of private individuals is bypassed or collected.

**How fresh is the data?**
Each row has `dataAsOf` - the publication date of the source file or API. If the publisher stops updating, `dataAsOf` stops moving and the daily self-test run fails, so you can tell stale data from a broken Actor.

**What happens when nothing is found or the source is down?**
You get a `not_found` or `source_error` row and you are not charged. The Actor never fails silently with an empty dataset.

**How do I get alerts?**
Create a Task with `mode: monitor`, schedule it (hourly or daily) and add a webhook, or connect the Apify integration in n8n, Make or Zapier. Only new, changed and removed records are returned and charged.

**Does the list include branches?**
The Actor returns head banks (one row per MFO of the bank). Use the IBAN validator to map any branch MFO inside an IBAN to its bank name.
