## Pricing

from $2.40 / 1,000 screenshots

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Screenshot API - Bulk Full-Page, Mobile, Dark Mode

Capture screenshots of web pages in bulk and get a public image link for each one. A fast, cheap alternative to paid screenshot APIs: no monthly plan, you pay per screenshot. Works from the Apify API, schedules, Make, Zapier, n8n and your own code.

### What you can do

- **1,000 URLs per run**, captured in parallel.
- **Full page or visible area**, with automatic scrolling so lazy-loaded images appear.
- **5 device presets**: desktop 1280x800, laptop 1440x900, Full HD 1920x1080, tablet and mobile (touch, high pixel density).
- **PNG, JPEG or WebP**, with quality control.
- **Cookie banners hidden** automatically for clean images.
- **Dark mode** for websites that support it.
- **Capture one element** by CSS selector (a chart, a product card, a hero section).
- **Wait for content**: page load, DOM ready, network idle, a CSS selector or a fixed delay.
- **Retina output** with a pixel density option.
- **Optional proxy** to see a page as a visitor from another country.
- Each result contains the image link, final URL, page title, HTTP status, image size and load time.

### Typical uses

- Visual monitoring and archiving of pages and competitors.
- Link previews, thumbnails and social cards.
- Website audits and design reviews across devices.
- QA and visual regression checks.
- Evidence capture for compliance and reporting.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Page URLs | Web pages to capture (required). |
| Device | Desktop, laptop, Full HD, tablet or mobile. |
| Full page | Capture the whole page. |
| Image format and quality | PNG, JPEG or WebP. |
| Hide cookie banners | On by default. |
| Wait for / delay / element | Control when the picture is taken. |
| Capture only this element | CSS selector. |
| Dark mode, pixel density, proxy | Extra options. |

Example input:

```
{
    "startUrls": [{ "url": "https://apify.com" }],
    "device": "mobile",
    "fullPage": true,
    "format": "webp"
}
```

### Output

```
{
    "url": "https://apify.com",
    "finalUrl": "https://apify.com/",
    "title": "Apify: Full-stack web scraping and data extraction platform",
    "httpStatus": 200,
    "device": "mobile",
    "fullPage": true,
    "format": "webp",
    "imageWidth": 780,
    "imageHeight": 10460,
    "fileSizeBytes": 183552,
    "screenshotKey": "screenshot-1-apify.com.webp",
    "screenshotUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/.../records/screenshot-1-apify.com.webp",
    "loadTimeMs": 4210
}
```

The images are stored in the run's key-value store. Open the Storage tab to browse and download them, or use the link from the dataset.

### Pricing

You pay per successful screenshot. Pages that answer with an error (HTTP 400 and above) and failed pages are free.

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Screenshot of the visible area (or one element) | $0.003 |
| Full-page screenshot | $0.004 |

Volume discounts apply automatically for Bronze, Silver and Gold Apify subscribers. 1,000 screenshots cost about $3 to $4. Set a maximum cost per run to stay in control.

### Tips

- Use WebP or JPEG for large full-page captures; PNG of a tall page can be several megabytes.
- If a page looks empty, choose Network idle, add a delay or wait for a selector.
- For a page that needs a login, this actor is not suitable: it only captures public pages.
- To compare mobile and desktop, run two tasks with the same URLs.

### Limits and good practice

- Only public pages are captured. The actor does not solve CAPTCHAs or bypass bot protection; if a site shows a challenge page you will get a picture of the challenge page.
- Very tall pages may not support full-page capture; the visible area is returned with a warning.
- Please respect the terms of the websites you capture.

### FAQ

**Can I use it as an API?** Yes: run it synchronously with the Apify API endpoint run-sync-get-dataset-items and read the image link from the response.

**Where are the images?** In the key-value store of the run. Links are in the dataset.

**Can I schedule it?** Yes, create a task and a schedule in Apify Console, for example a daily capture of a competitor's pricing page.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Web pages to capture, one per row. Up to 1,000 per run.

## `device` (type: `string`):

Viewport and browser profile. Mobile and tablet use a touch device with a high pixel density.

## `fullPage` (type: `boolean`):

Capture the whole scrollable page instead of only the visible area. Billed at the full-page price. Lazy-loaded images are loaded by scrolling first.

## `format` (type: `string`):

PNG is lossless, JPEG and WebP are much smaller.

## `quality` (type: `integer`):

Compression quality from 1 to 100. Ignored for PNG.

## `hideCookieBanners` (type: `boolean`):

Hide common cookie consent banners and popups with CSS before the screenshot.

## `darkMode` (type: `boolean`):

Ask the website for its dark colour scheme.

## `waitUntil` (type: `string`):

When the page counts as loaded.

## `delayMs` (type: `integer`):

Wait this long after the page has loaded, for animations and late content. Maximum 30000.

## `waitForSelector` (type: `string`):

Optional CSS selector that must appear before the screenshot, for example #content or .product-card.

## `elementSelector` (type: `string`):

Optional CSS selector. Only the first matching element is captured instead of the page.

## `scrollToBottom` (type: `boolean`):

Scroll through the page before the screenshot so lazy-loaded images appear. Always on for full page captures.

## `viewportWidth` (type: `integer`):

Overrides the width of the selected device (pixels).

## `viewportHeight` (type: `integer`):

Overrides the height of the selected device (pixels).

## `deviceScaleFactor` (type: `integer`):

1 = normal, 2 = retina (sharper, 4x larger image).

## `timeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

How long to wait for each page to load.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):
