## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEO + AI Search Readiness Site Audit

Crawl any website and get a clear, prioritized list of what to fix: classic SEO problems on every page, plus whether the site is ready for AI search in ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity. One row per page, and one summary per site that you can hand straight to a client.

### What it checks

**On every page** (each gets a score out of 100):

- HTTP errors and noindex
- Title and meta description: missing, too short or too long
- h1 headings: missing or more than one
- Canonical link, lang attribute, viewport tag (mobile)
- Open Graph tags for link previews
- schema.org structured data (JSON-LD), including broken JSON
- Images without alt text
- Thin content (word count)
- Server response time and HTML size

**Across the site:**

- Broken internal links, with the pages that link to them
- Duplicate titles and descriptions
- HTTPS
- Sitemap found, and how many URLs it lists
- **AI search readiness:** whether `llms.txt` exists, whether robots.txt blocks each AI crawler (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, CCBot, Applebot-Extended, Bytespider, meta-externalagent), and how many pages have structured data

**A prioritized fix list:** every problem found, ranked high, medium or low, with how many pages it affects and how to fix it.

### Input

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Websites to audit | `https://example.com` |
| Max pages per site | `100` |
| Start from the sitemap | on |
| Respect robots.txt | on |

### Output

A page row:

```json
{
  "type": "page",
  "url": "https://example.com/pricing",
  "status": 200,
  "score": 77,
  "title": "Pricing",
  "titleLength": 7,
  "descriptionLength": 0,
  "h1Count": 1,
  "wordCount": 412,
  "schemaTypes": [],
  "issues": [
    { "severity": "medium", "code": "title_too_short", "message": "Title is 7 characters; aim for 30 to 60." },
    { "severity": "medium", "code": "missing_description", "message": "Missing meta description." }
  ]
}
```

The site summary (`"type": "summary"`) has `averageScore`, `fixes`, `aiReadiness`, `brokenLinks`, `duplicateTitles`, `duplicateDescriptions` and `worstPages`. Use the "Pages" and "Site summary" views in the Output tab.

### Pricing

You pay per page audited, plus a small fee per site summary.

### Good to know

- This reads the HTML the server sends. Content that only appears after JavaScript runs is not seen, which is also how many AI crawlers see your site.
- Response time is measured from the crawler, not from a browser, so treat it as a server check rather than a full page-speed test.
- Only pages on the same domain are crawled. Links to other sites are counted but not checked.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

One website per line, for example https://example.com. Each site gets its own summary.

## `maxPagesPerSite` (type: `integer`):

Stop crawling a site after this many pages.

## `useSitemap` (type: `boolean`):

Also queue pages listed in the site's sitemap, so pages with no links pointing at them are audited too.

## `respectRobotsTxt` (type: `boolean`):

Skip pages that robots.txt blocks for crawlers. Turn off only for sites you own.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    "https://apify.com"
  ],
  "maxPagesPerSite": 100,
  "useSitemap": true,
  "respectRobotsTxt": true
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `pages` (type: `string`):

Score and issues for every crawled page

## `summary` (type: `string`):

Prioritized fix list, AI-search readiness and broken links per site
