## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## LinkedIn Public Profile Scraper (No Login, No Cookies)

Extract **name, headline, location, work history, education and skills** from **public** LinkedIn profiles. No LinkedIn account, no cookies, no risk to your own profile. **You pay only for profiles that are successfully extracted**; blocked pages are free.

### What you get

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `name`, `headline`, `location` | Top card info |
| `experience[]` | `title`, `company`, `start`, `end` |
| `education[]` | `school`, `degree`, `start`, `end` |
| `organizations[]` | Affiliations from structured data (schools, boards, etc.) |
| `skills[]` | Skills, when the public profile shows them |
| `status` | `ok`, `blocked` (authwall or rate limit, **not charged**), or `error` |

### Input example

```json
{
  "profileUrls": ["https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates/", "https://www.linkedin.com/in/satyanadella/"],
  "maxProfiles": 100,
  "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": true, "apifyProxyGroups": ["RESIDENTIAL"] }
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "url": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates/",
  "status": "ok",
  "name": "Bill Gates",
  "headline": "Chair, Gates Foundation and Founder, Breakthrough Energy",
  "location": "Seattle, Washington, United States",
  "experience": [{"title": "Co-chair", "company": "Gates Foundation", "start": "2000", "end": "Present"}],
  "education": [{"school": "Harvard University", "degree": null, "start": "1973", "end": "1975"}],
  "skills": []
}
```

Blocked example (free): `{"url": "...", "status": "blocked", "reason": "http_999", "httpStatus": 999}`

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$3 per 1,000 successful profiles** ($0.003 each). Blocked or empty results are never charged. Platform usage (compute and proxy) is billed separately by Apify according to your plan.

### Tips

- Use the **Residential** proxy. LinkedIn rate-limits datacenter IPs heavily (HTTP 999).
- Some fields only appear if the person made them public.

### Legal

This Actor reads only data that is publicly visible without logging in. You are responsible for making sure your use complies with LinkedIn's Terms of Service, GDPR/CCPA and other applicable laws, including having a lawful basis for processing personal data. Don't use it for spam or unlawful profiling. Not affiliated with LinkedIn.

# Actor input Schema

## `profileUrls` (type: `array`):

Public LinkedIn profile URLs, e.g. https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates/

## `maxProfiles` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many URLs.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Residential proxy strongly recommended (LinkedIn blocks datacenter IPs). Residential proxy is billed by Apify per GB.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "profileUrls": [
    "https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates/"
