# Website Migration Redirect Verifier (`tommygufano/migration-redirect-verifier`) Actor

Check old-to-new URL mappings and expected canonicals before or after a website migration. Get Pass, Needs Fix, or Could Not Verify results with CSV and JSON reports. $1 per 1,000 verified URLs; no startup charge. Demo and unverified rows are not charged.

## Pricing

$1.00 / 1,000 verified urls

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Migration Redirect Verifier

Checks old-to-new URL mappings, redirect destinations, HTTP status and expected canonical URLs. Results are Pass, Needs Fix or Could Not Verify, with CSV and JSON reports.

For live checks, select HTTP, turn demo mode off, remove synthetic fixtures and supply a CSV with old_url and expected_new_url. Optional columns: expected_status and expected_canonical. The default synthetic example makes no website requests and has no result charges.

Price: $1 per 1,000 verified URLs, including confirmed migration issues. No startup charge; unverified results aren’t charged.

Limits: 1,000 input rows, five redirect hops, five-second requests and fifteen-second URL checks. Work stops after approximately 80 seconds; unfinished rows remain unverified. Public URLs only. No browser rendering. Large responses, blocked sites and timeouts can prevent verification.

# Actor input Schema

## `csv` (type: `string`):

At most 1 MiB and 1000 rows. Required headers: old_url,expected_new_url; optional expected_status,expected_canonical.

## `transport` (type: `string`):

HTTP performs public-host GETs only. No loopback override exists.

## `fixtures` (type: `object`):

Synthetic mode only: URL-keyed response fixtures, at most 2 MiB. Omit in HTTP mode.

## `concurrency` (type: `integer`):

Maximum simultaneous row checks and HTTP requests (1–5). Completed rows persist progressively; Actor work stops at its bounded batch deadline.

## `requestTimeoutMs` (type: `integer`):

Per-request deadline including queue, DNS, connection and full response body. Default/maximum 5000 ms (5 seconds).

## `rowTimeoutMs` (type: `integer`):

Total URL-check deadline including expected-target validation and redirect chain. Default/maximum 15000 ms (15 seconds); the unchanged batch deadline may interrupt earlier.

## `maxResponseBytes` (type: `integer`):

Maximum streamed UTF-8 response body bytes before buffering. Oversized responses remain Could Not Verify.

## `maxHeaderBytes` (type: `integer`):

Maximum response-header bytes, enforced by native HTTP parsing and serialized-header validation.

## `demoMode` (type: `boolean`):

Free demos require synthetic transport. HTTP requires explicit demoMode=false; true or omitted is rejected before network access. With trusted operator activation, confirmed live results cost USD 0.001 each ($1 per 1000). This input cannot activate billing.
