## Pricing

Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## RSS Feed Reader & Scraper - Bulk RSS and Atom to JSON, CSV, Excel

Read **hundreds of RSS, Atom and JSON feeds in one run** and get clean, uniform items: **title, link, published date (UTC), author, summary, full content, categories, media/enclosure URL**. Paste a normal **website URL** and the Actor **auto-discovers its feed**.

No login, no proxy, no browser - fast and very cheap.

### Use cases

- **News & content monitoring**: follow blogs, newsrooms, competitors, regulators. Combine `onlyNew: true` with an Apify schedule to get only fresh items and push them to Slack, email, Google Sheets, Make, Zapier or n8n.
- **Keyword alerts**: keep only items that mention your brand or topic (`keywords`).
- **AI pipelines & RAG**: feed clean text (`includeContent: true`) to your LLM.
- **Podcast & YouTube feeds**: media URLs are included (`mediaUrl`).

### Input example

```json
{
  "feeds": ["https://blog.apify.com/rss/", "https://www.theverge.com", "https://xkcd.com/atom.xml"],
  "maxItemsPerFeed": 50,
  "lastDays": 7,
  "keywords": ["ai", "scraping"],
  "onlyNew": true,
  "includeContent": false
}
```

### Output sample

```json
{
  "feedUrl": "https://blog.apify.com/rss/",
  "feedTitle": "Apify Blog",
  "title": "Get more people to use your Actor with task examples",
  "link": "https://blog.apify.com/actor-task-examples/",
  "published": "2026-10-22T08:00:00+00:00",
  "author": "Fabian Maume",
  "summary": "Publishing task examples doubled my Actor's organic traffic...",
  "categories": ["Apify Store"],
  "mediaUrl": null
}
```

### Notes

- Items keep the feed's own data; content rights belong to the publishers - use it according to each site's terms.
- Sites without any feed are reported in the log ("no feed found"). A few sites block cloud IPs (e.g. HTTP 403/419); they are skipped and logged.

Questions or feature requests? Open an issue on the Actor page.

### Who is this for?

Content and PR teams, newsletter and media-monitoring builders, researchers, and developers who feed news into AI/RAG pipelines or automations (Make, Zapier, n8n).

### FAQ

**What if a site has no RSS URL?** Paste the website URL; the Actor looks for its feed automatically.
**How do I get only new articles?** `onlyNew: true` and a schedule.
**Can I filter by topic?** Yes, with `keywords` (matched on title and summary).
**Which formats?** RSS 2.0, RSS 1.0 (RDF), Atom and JSON Feed.
**Can it get the full article text?** It returns the feed's `content` when the feed includes it; it does not crawl article pages.
