Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEC EDGAR Filings Monitor & Full-Text Search

Track **SEC EDGAR filings** - 8-K, 10-K, 10-Q, S-1, Form D, 13F, Form 4, SC 13D and more - by **ticker, CIK, form type or full-text keyword**, and export them as JSON, CSV or Excel with **direct links to every document**. Built only on the **official SEC endpoints** (EDGAR full-text search + `data.sec.gov` submissions JSON). No login, no proxy, no browser.

### What you can do

- **Daily filing alerts**: schedule once a day with `onlyNew = true` and send new 8-Ks, S-1s or Form Ds to Slack, email, Google Sheets or a webhook.
- **Full-text search across all filings** since 2001: find every 8-K mentioning "artificial intelligence", "going concern", "cybersecurity incident", "tariff"...
- **Company watchlists**: all 10-K / 10-Q / 8-K for AAPL, MSFT, NVDA (tickers or CIKs).
- **IPO & fundraising pipelines**: every new S-1 or Form D, market-wide.

### Input examples

8-K filings mentioning AI in the last 7 days:

```json
{ "keywords": ["artificial intelligence"], "forms": ["8-K"], "lastDays": 7 }
```

Watchlist of companies (last year of annual/quarterly reports):

```json
{ "companies": ["AAPL", "MSFT", "0001045810"], "forms": ["10-K", "10-Q", "8-K"], "lastDays": 365 }
```

All new S-1 registrations (daily schedule):

```json
{ "forms": ["S-1"], "lastDays": 3, "onlyNew": true }
```

### Output sample

```json
  "accessionNumber": "0001062993-26-005174",
  "companyName": "Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions Inc.",
}
```

### How it works / limits

- **Keyword or market-wide mode** uses EDGAR full-text search: one row per filing (de-duplicated), with the document that matched. SEC caps a single query at 10,000 documents - narrow the dates for bigger pulls.
- **Company mode** (tickers/CIKs, no keywords) reads each company's official submissions JSON (latest ~1,000 filings per company) and links the primary document.
- The Actor respects SEC's fair-access rule (under 10 requests/second, declared User-Agent). You can add your contact email to the User-Agent.
- Data is public information published by the U.S. SEC. Not investment advice.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Search inside filing documents (EDGAR full-text search, filings since 2001). Multi-word entries are searched as exact phrases; several entries must all appear. Leave empty to list filings by company/form only.

## `companies` (type: `array`):

e.g. AAPL, MSFT, 0001045810. Empty = all companies.

## `forms` (type: `array`):

e.g. 8-K, 10-K, 10-Q, S-1, D, 13F-HR, 4, SC 13D. Empty = all forms.

## `lastDays` (type: `integer`):

Used when 'Date from' is empty.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

Optional start date. Overrides 'last N days'.

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

Optional end date (default today).

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers already returned filings (named key-value store) - use with a daily schedule for alerts.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of filings to save (full-text search is capped by SEC at 10,000 documents per query).

## `contactEmail` (type: `string`):

SEC asks automated tools to declare a contact in the User-Agent. Optional - added to the default User-Agent if provided.
