# Company Jobs & Hiring Signals via ATS APIs (`toolmill/hiring-signals`) Actor

Company domains in, open jobs out, via the official job-board APIs of Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters, Recruitee, Personio and BambooHR. Detects each company's ATS, pulls every opening, and reports what changed since your last run: new roles, closed roles, hiring by department.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Company Jobs & Hiring Signals via ATS APIs

Company domains in, open jobs out. The Actor works out which applicant tracking system each company uses (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters, Recruitee, Personio, BambooHR), pulls every opening through that system's official job-board API, normalises the fields, and tells you what changed since your last run.

No scraping of job sites, no LinkedIn, no Indeed. Just the APIs the companies themselves publish.

### What you get

**One row per open job**, the same shape whatever the ATS: `title`, `department`, `team`, `location`, `remote`, `employmentType`, `postedAt`, `url`, optional `description`, and `isNew` when the job wasn't there on your previous run.

**One summary per company** in the `COMPANIES` record: which ATS, how many open roles, how many new and closed since last run, roles by department, remote count.

### Use cases

- **Sales signals.** A company that opened six sales roles this month has budget and a new leader. Run weekly with `onlyNew: true` and route the new roles to your CRM.
- **Recruiting feeds.** Pull every opening at a list of target companies without visiting eight job boards.
- **Market research.** Compare hiring by department across competitors.
- **Agents.** Give an agent a list of accounts and let it ask "who is hiring for what" on a schedule, then hand the hiring manager to the Email Finder.

### Input

```json
{
  "companies": [
    { "domain": "stripe.com" },
    { "domain": "notion.so" },
    { "atsUrl": "https://jobs.lever.co/acme" }
  ],
  "onlyNew": false,
  "includeDescriptions": false
}
```

A domain is enough. The Actor checks the company's careers pages for a job-board link, then tries the company name as a board slug on each ATS. Give `atsUrl` when you already know the board.

### Output (one item per job)

```json
{
  "company": "notion.so",
  "domain": "notion.so",
  "ats": "ashby",
  "atsSlug": "notion",
  "jobId": "0f3d…",
  "title": "Account Executive, Mid-Market",
  "department": "Sales",
  "team": "Mid-Market",
  "location": "New York, US",
  "remote": false,
  "employmentType": "FullTime",
  "postedAt": "2026-09-30T14:02:11.000Z",
  "url": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/notion/0f3d…",
  "salary": "$120K – $160K",
  "isNew": true,
  "fetchedAt": "2026-10-11T18:40:00.000Z"
}
```

Company summary example:

```json
{ "company": "notion.so", "ats": "ashby", "status": "ok", "openJobs": 132, "newSinceLastRun": 9, "closedSinceLastRun": 4,
  "remoteJobs": 21, "topDepartments": ["Sales (41)", "Engineering (37)", "Marketing (12)"] }
```

### Supported systems

| ATS | Jobs | Detection |
|---|---|---|
| Greenhouse (US and EU boards) | ✅ | link or slug |
| Lever (US and EU) | ✅ | link or slug |
| Ashby | ✅ | link or slug |
| Workable | ✅ | link or slug |
| SmartRecruiters | ✅ | link or slug |
| Recruitee | ✅ | link or slug |
| Personio | ✅ | link or slug |
| BambooHR | ✅ | link or slug |
| Workday, Teamtailor, Jobvite | detected, reported as `unsupported` | link |

Companies with no detectable board come back as `not_found` with the reason, and are not charged.

### Statuses per company

| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `ok` | Board found, jobs returned |
| `unsupported` | Board found on an ATS whose API we don't read yet |
| `not_found` | No board found on the site or by slug guess |

### Pairs with

- [Email Finder](https://apify.com/toolmill/email-finder) turns a hiring manager's name and the company domain into a confirmed address.
- [Email Verifier](https://apify.com/toolmill/email-verifier) cleans the list before you send.
- [Toolmill Briefs](https://toolmill.github.io/briefs/): one page per company with what they appear to be building, who they need, and every open role. Free, refreshed daily.

### Pricing

Pay per company resolved plus a small amount per job returned. Companies that come back `not_found` or `unsupported` are not charged a company fee. See the Pricing tab.

### Notes

- Everything comes from official, public job-board APIs. No login, no cookies, no proxies.
- The Actor remembers each company's board and job ids between runs so `isNew` and the closed count work. Nothing else is stored.
- Department names are whatever the company uses in its ATS; Greenhouse boards sometimes carry internal codes.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

One object per company. Give a domain ({ "domain": "stripe.com" }), or a website URL, or the company's job-board URL directly ({ "atsUrl": "https://jobs.lever.co/acme" }). Optional "name" is echoed into the output.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Remember each company's jobs between runs and output only the ones that appeared since. The first run for a company outputs everything. Company summaries always include new and closed counts.

## `includeDescriptions` (type: `boolean`):

Add the full plain-text description to each job where the ATS provides it. Larger output.

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Cap on jobs returned per company.

## `timeoutMs` (type: `integer`):

Timeout for each page or API request.

## `concurrency` (type: `integer`):

Companies processed in parallel.

```
# Actor output Schema
## `jobs` (type: `string`):
One item per open job, normalised across ATS providers.
## `companies` (type: `string`):
