# Douyin Hashtag Scraper (`toolzerhub/douyin-hashtag-scraper`) Actor

Fetch a Douyin hashtag's stats by hashtag\_id -- total views and how many creators have posted with it -- or collect every public video filed under it, sorted by relevance, likes, or recency. Video rows return the caption, stats, author, and share link. Track a Douyin tag as it trends.

## Pricing

from $2.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Douyin Hashtag Scraper

Fetch a Douyin hashtag's own stats by `hashtag_id` — total views and how many creators have posted under it — or collect every public video filed under it, sorted by relevance, likes, or recency. Pick a mode with `scraperType`.

### Modes

| `scraperType` | Returns |
|---|---|
| `hashtagDetail` (default) | Name, total view count, and creator count for the hashtag itself. One row. |
| `hashtagVideos` | Every public video filed under the hashtag, paginated. |

### Input

| Field | Use it for |
|---|---|
| **`hashtag_id`** | The hashtag's (challenge) ID, as returned by hashtag search. Required for both modes. |
| **`sort_type`** | `hashtagVideos` only: `0` Most relevant (default), `1` Most liked, `2` Most recent. |
| **`maxItems`** | Caps `hashtagVideos`. Default `100`. Set `0` for no limit. |

```json
{
  "scraperType": "hashtagDetail",
  "hashtag_id": "1684082100470791"
}
```

### Output

| Field | Mode | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| **`cha_name`** | Both | Hashtag name |
| **`view_count`** | `hashtagDetail` | Total times content under the tag has been viewed |
| **`user_count`** | `hashtagDetail` | Distinct creators who have posted under the tag |
| **`aweme_id`**, **`desc`**, **`create_time`**, **`statistics`**, **`author`**, **`share_url`**, **`cha_list`** | `hashtagVideos` | Each video filed under the tag |
| **`source_hashtag_id`** | Both | The hashtag this row was collected from |

```json
{
  "cha_name": "并发编程",
  "view_count": 4418607,
  "user_count": 1135,
  "source_hashtag_id": "1684082100470791"
}
```

`view_count` and `user_count` are the two numbers worth checking before anything else on a tag — total reach and how many distinct creators are actually posting under it, both in one request via `hashtagDetail`.

### Questions

**Why do a couple of the same videos show up if I re-run `hashtagVideos`?**
Douyin's own ranking under a hashtag shifts between requests, so sequential pages can overlap by a video or two. The Actor already drops repeats by `aweme_id`, so what lands in the dataset is the deduplicated set, not raw overlapping pages.

**Can I sort `hashtagVideos` by view count?**
No — `sort_type` only offers relevance, likes, or recency. Sort on `statistics` after the run for anything else.
