# Douyin Sound Scraper (`toolzerhub/douyin-sound-scraper`) Actor

Fetch a Douyin sound's details by music\_id -- title, original artist, duration, and how many videos use it -- or collect every public video published with that sound. Video rows return the caption, stats, author, and share link. Track which sounds are trending on Douyin and who is riding them.

## Pricing

from $2.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Douyin Sound Scraper

Fetch a Douyin sound's own details by `music_id` — title, original artist, and how many videos currently use it — or collect every public video published with that sound. Pick a mode with `scraperType`.

### Modes

| `scraperType` | Returns |
|---|---|
| `soundDetail` (default) | Title, original artist, duration, and how many videos currently use the sound. One row. |
| `soundVideos` | Every public video published with the sound, paginated. |

### Input

| Field | Use it for |
|---|---|
| **`music_id`** | The sound's ID, as returned in a video's `music` field. Required for both modes. |
| **`maxItems`** | Caps `soundVideos`. Default `100`. Set `0` for no limit. `soundDetail` always returns one row regardless. |

```json
{
  "scraperType": "soundDetail",
  "music_id": "7448120087812262666"
}
```

### Output

| Field | Mode | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| **`mid`**, **`title`**, **`owner_nickname`** | `soundDetail` | Sound ID, title, and original artist |
| **`user_count`** | `soundDetail` | Videos currently using this sound |
| **`duration`**, **`is_original_sound`**, **`play_url`** | `soundDetail` | Length, whether it is original audio, and a playable address |
| **`aweme_id`**, **`desc`**, **`create_time`**, **`statistics`**, **`author`**, **`music`**, **`share_url`** | `soundVideos` | Each video published with the sound |
| **`source_music_id`** | Both | The sound this row was collected from |

```json
{
  "mid": "7448120087812262666",
  "title": "@01熵创作的原声",
  "owner_nickname": "01熵",
  "source_music_id": "7448120087812262666"
}
```

### Questions

**Why did my `soundVideos` run stop well before `maxItems`?**
A sound used by only a handful of videos can keep signalling more pages available while re-serving the same video on every page instead of ending the list. The Actor drops repeats by `aweme_id` and ends the run once a page brings back nothing new — a niche sound with three videos returns three rows, never `maxItems`, no matter how high you set it.

**Does `soundDetail` include the video list?**
No. `user_count` on `soundDetail` is a count, not a list — how many videos currently use the sound. For the videos themselves, run `soundVideos`.

# Actor input Schema

## `scraperType` (type: `string`):

Choose the dataset for this run.

## `music_id` (type: `string`):

Paste the sound's Douyin link (douyin.com/music/...), or just the ID — both are on the sound's page, and every video row this Actor saves also carries its sound's id.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum rows to save. Set 0 to keep collecting until the source is exhausted.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "scraperType": "soundDetail",
  "music_id": "7448118836949289778",
  "maxItems": 20
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `dataset` (type: `string`):

Every record collected during this run
