## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## RedNote (Xiaohongshu) Creator Inspiration Scraper

Collect public RedNote or Xiaohongshu creator-inspiration prompts from the regular feed or its hot subset and save IDs, titles, images, counts, scores, and deep links.

### Regular or hot

Set **`scraperType`** to choose the feed.

| Value | Use it for | Main fields |
|---|---|---|
| `creatorInspiration` | Regular inspiration feed — the default mode | **`ins_id`**, **`name`**, **`type`**, **`image`**, **`icon`**, **`cnt_desc`**, **`detail_deeplink`**, **`post_deeplink`** |
| `hotCreatorInspiration` | Hot or trending inspiration subset | **`hot_id`**, **`id`**, **`title`**, **`type`**, **`cover`**, **`score`**, **`score_text`**, **`deeplink`** |

These modes return different field shapes. Pick the one your downstream table expects.

### Inputs

**`maxItems`** defaults to `100`; use `0` for no cap. In regular mode, **`inspiration_category`** is a numeric filter with default `0`. Hot mode doesn't use that category setting.

```json
{
  "scraperType": "hotCreatorInspiration",
  "maxItems": 50
}
```

### Example hot result

```json
{
  "hot_id": "3100995",
  "id": 57845117,
  "title": "Cosplay transformation videos",
  "type": "Hot",
  "score": 23788626,
  "score_text": "2378.9万人在看"
}
```

**`score`** is numeric. **`score_text`** keeps the human-readable wording from RedNote.

### Pagination

Both feeds follow RedNote's continuation cursor. Collection ends at **`maxItems`**, an empty page, no next cursor, or a repeated cursor. The last condition prevents an infinite loop when continuation state stalls.

### Questions

**What does `inspiration_category: 0` mean?**

It is the verified default numeric category value for regular inspiration. The Actor doesn't assign an invented label to that number.

**Can I apply `inspiration_category` to hot inspiration?**

No. The hot mode ignores that field; it collects the hot subset directly.

**Do I need to maintain a RedNote session?**

No login, cookie, or session token is required or accepted.
