## Pricing

Pay per event

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Scraper — Apps, Developers, Ratings & Reviews

Export data from the **Apple App Store**: **search apps by keyword, look up apps by URL / ID / bundle ID, list every app of a developer**, and get **ratings, rating counts, prices, genres, release & update dates, version notes, descriptions, screenshots and the developer's website** — plus **customer reviews** from any country.

Uses Apple's own public iTunes Search/Lookup API and review feeds: no browser, no login, no API key.

### How to run it in 3 steps

1. **Add your input.** In **Search terms** paste keywords, App Store links, app IDs or bundle IDs — e.g. `habit tracker`. The form is already filled with a working example, so you can skip this step for a first try.
2. **Press Start.** The prefilled run returns 48 apps in about 2 s and costs about **$0.096**. Set **Max results (cost cap)** to cap the cost of bigger runs; you only pay for apps actually delivered.
3. **Get the data.** Open the **Output** tab and export JSON, CSV or Excel — or run it from the API, Make, Zapier, n8n or an AI agent (see below).

### Features

- **All entry points:** keywords, app URLs, numeric IDs, bundle IDs and developer pages (a developer URL returns their whole portfolio).
- **Lead-ready data:** `sellerWebsite` (developer website), developer name/ID/URL — great for B2B outreach to app publishers.
- **Reviews from many countries:** Apple serves 500 reviews per storefront; add `us`, `gb`, `ca`, `au`, `in`… to collect thousands per app.
- **ASO / competitor research:** `rank` keeps App Store search order per keyword.
- **Two price points:** apps and reviews are billed separately, so review-only runs are billed at the lower review price.
- **Fast:** ~3,000 rows in a few seconds.

### Use cases

- **App Store Optimization (ASO):** who ranks for a keyword, ratings, update frequency, pricing.
- **Lead generation:** find app publishers in a niche and their websites.
- **Review mining & sentiment analysis:** feed reviews into an LLM to find feature requests and bugs — yours or competitors'.
- **Market research:** monitor categories, new releases and price changes.

Use the **Apps** and **Reviews** views in the dataset to export each type separately.

### Use with AI agents (MCP), LangChain, RAG & the API

This actor is a ready-made **tool for AI agents**: an LLM can call it, wait for the run and read clean JSON back.

**MCP server (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, any MCP client)** — add Apify's hosted MCP server with this actor enabled as a tool:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "apify": {
      "url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=torix33/app-store-scraper",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <APIFY_TOKEN>" }
    }
  }
}
```

**LangChain / LangGraph** (`pip install langchain-apify`, set `APIFY_API_TOKEN`):

```python
import json
from langchain_apify import ApifyActorsTool, ApifyWrapper
from langchain_core.documents import Document
## 1) give the actor to an agent as a tool
tool = ApifyActorsTool("torix33/app-store-scraper")
## 2) or load results as Documents for a RAG index
loader = ApifyWrapper().call_actor(
    actor_id="torix33/app-store-scraper",
    run_input={"searchTerms": ["habit tracker"], "startUrls": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580", "https://apps.apple.com/us/developer/inner-grow-limited/id1828382777", "com.burbn.instagram"], "country": "us", "maxAppsPerSearch": 50, "scrapeReviews": True, "maxReviewsPerApp": 500, "reviewCountries": ["us", "gb", "ca", "au"], "reviewSort": "mostrecent"},
    dataset_mapping_function=lambda item: Document(page_content=json.dumps(item, ensure_ascii=False), metadata={"url": item.get("url")}),
)
docs = loader.load()
```

**REST API — one synchronous call, dataset items in the response:**

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/torix33~app-store-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<APIFY_TOKEN>" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"searchTerms": ["habit tracker"], "startUrls": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580", "https://apps.apple.com/us/developer/inner-grow-limited/id1828382777", "com.burbn.instagram"], "country": "us", "maxAppsPerSearch": 50, "scrapeReviews": true, "maxReviewsPerApp": 500, "reviewCountries": ["us", "gb", "ca", "au"], "reviewSort": "mostrecent"}'
```

Also works with the Apify Python/JS clients, **Make, Zapier, n8n**, Google Sheets, webhooks and schedules. Export as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or RSS.

**RAG tip:** Review rows (`type: "review"`) are short — batch 100–200 into one prompt to extract feature requests and complaints per app version.

### Pricing

- **$2.00 per 1,000 apps** ($0.002 per app).
- **$0.80 per 1,000 reviews** ($0.0008 per review).
- The prefilled input is billed for 48 apps + 0 reviews → **$0.096**.
- Example: 1,000 apps → $2.00; 10,000 → $20.00. Set **Max results (cost cap)** to limit any run.

### Limitations

- Apple's review feed returns at most 500 reviews per app, country and sort order.
- Data is public App Store information.

### FAQ

**How many reviews can I get per app?**
Apple serves up to 500 reviews per app, country and sort order. Add more `reviewCountries` to collect thousands.

**Can I scrape all apps of a developer?**
Yes. Paste a developer page URL and you get the whole portfolio.

**Is it useful for ASO?**
Yes. `rank` keeps the App Store search order for each keyword, so you can track positions.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Keywords as typed into the App Store search.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

App Store app URLs, numeric app IDs (<code>324684580</code>), bundle IDs (<code>com.spotify.client</code>) or developer URLs (<code>apps.apple.com/us/developer/…/id…</code>) — a developer URL returns all of their apps.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter App Store country code (<code>us</code>, <code>gb</code>, <code>de</code>, <code>jp</code>…). Affects prices, availability and search results.

## `maxAppsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Up to 200 (App Store search limit).

## `scrapeReviews` (type: `boolean`):

Also export customer reviews for every app found (rows with <code>type: "review"</code>).

## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):

Apple serves up to 500 reviews per country and sort order; add more countries to get more.

## `reviewCountries` (type: `array`):

Collect reviews from these storefronts (e.g. <code>us</code>, <code>gb</code>, <code>ca</code>, <code>au</code>). Empty = the store country above.

## `reviewSort` (type: `string`):

Most recent or most helpful first.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many rows (apps + reviews). <code>0</code> = no limit.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel requests.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Requests go direct first; if Apple throttles, retries switch to these proxies with a fresh IP each time.
