## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Pinterest Scraper — Pins, Boards, Profiles & Search

Scrape **Pinterest** without logging in: **search results, boards, user profiles and single pins**. Every pin comes with its **full-size image URL, title, description, alt text, outbound link and domain, save count, reactions, comment count, creation date, video URL, pinner and board** — and profile rows include **followers, following, monthly views, pin and board counts, website and bio**.

The actor uses the same JSON resources as pinterest.com itself, so it doesn't need a browser.

### Features

- **All entry points:** keywords, profile URLs, board URLs, pin URLs or plain usernames.
- **Outbound links & saves** for every pin (`scrapePinDetails`) — the data you need for e-commerce and content research.
- **Profile analytics:** followers and monthly views for influencer and brand research.
- **Deduplicated** across sources; full-resolution `originals` images.
- **Pay per result:** $2 per 1,000 pins or profiles.

### Use cases

- **E-commerce & dropshipping research:** which products and shops get saved most for a keyword (`link`, `domain`, `saves`).
- **Content & trend research** for marketers and designers.
- **Influencer discovery:** profiles with followers, monthly views and website.
- **Competitor monitoring:** a brand's latest pins and boards.
- **Image datasets** with titles, descriptions and alt texts.

### Input

### Use with AI agents (MCP), LangChain, RAG & the API

This actor is a ready-made **tool for AI agents**: an LLM can call it, wait for the run and read clean JSON back.

**MCP server (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, any MCP client)** — add Apify's hosted MCP server with this actor enabled as a tool:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "apify": {
      "url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=murch1k/pinterest-scraper",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <APIFY_TOKEN>" }
    }
  }
}
```

**LangChain / LangGraph** (`pip install langchain-apify`, set `APIFY_API_TOKEN`):

```python
import json
from langchain_apify import ApifyActorsTool, ApifyWrapper
from langchain_core.documents import Document
## 1) give the actor to an agent as a tool
tool = ApifyActorsTool("murch1k/pinterest-scraper")
## 2) or load results as Documents for a RAG index
loader = ApifyWrapper().call_actor(
    actor_id="murch1k/pinterest-scraper",
    run_input={"searchQueries": ["modern kitchen", "wedding cake"], "startUrls": ["https://www.pinterest.com/marthastewart/", "https://www.pinterest.com/marthastewart/letscelebrate-pin-party/", "https://www.pinterest.com/pin/18999629667015418/"], "maxPinsPerSource": 200, "scrapePinDetails": True, "includeProfiles": True},
    dataset_mapping_function=lambda item: Document(page_content=json.dumps(item, ensure_ascii=False), metadata={"url": item.get("url")}),
)
docs = loader.load()
```

**REST API — one synchronous call, dataset items in the response:**

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/murch1k~pinterest-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<APIFY_TOKEN>" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"searchQueries": ["modern kitchen", "wedding cake"], "startUrls": ["https://www.pinterest.com/marthastewart/", "https://www.pinterest.com/marthastewart/letscelebrate-pin-party/", "https://www.pinterest.com/pin/18999629667015418/"], "maxPinsPerSource": 200, "scrapePinDetails": true, "includeProfiles": true}'
```

Also works with the Apify Python/JS clients, **Make, Zapier, n8n**, Google Sheets, webhooks and schedules. Export as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or RSS.

**RAG tip:** Use `title`, `description` and outbound `link` of pins to let an agent map trending products and content ideas for a niche.

### Pricing

- **$2.00 per 1,000 results** ($0.002 per result).
- The prefilled input returns 41 results → **$0.082**.
- Example: 1,000 results → $2.00; 10,000 → $20.00. Set **Max results (cost cap)** to limit any run.

### Limitations

- Only public pins, boards and profiles are collected. Private boards and secret pins are not accessible.
- Pinterest reports monthly views above 10M as "10M+".

### FAQ

**Do I need a Pinterest login?**
No. Only public pins, boards and profiles are collected.

**Can I get the outbound link of each pin?**
Yes. Turn on `scrapePinDetails` for outbound links and save counts.

**Does it download full-size images?**
It returns the full-resolution `originals` image URL for every pin.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Keywords as typed into Pinterest search (pins).

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Profile (<code>pinterest.com/marthastewart/</code>), board (<code>pinterest.com/user/board-name/</code>), pin (<code>pinterest.com/pin/123…/</code>) or search URLs. Usernames work too.

## `maxPinsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Per search query, profile or board.

## `scrapePinDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Open each pin for its outbound link, save count and comment count (one extra fast request per pin).

## `includeProfiles` (type: `boolean`):

For profile URLs, also output one row with followers, monthly views, website and bio (<code>type: "profile"</code>).

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many rows in total. <code>0</code> = no limit.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Pin detail requests in parallel.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Requests go direct first; if Pinterest throttles, retries switch to these proxies.
