## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Remote Jobs Aggregator — 7 Remote Job Boards in One Clean Feed

Get **remote jobs from 7 job boards in a single, deduplicated dataset**: **RemoteOK, Remotive, Himalayas, Jobicy, We Work Remotely, Working Nomads and Arbeitnow**. Every job is normalized to the same fields — **title, company, logo, company website, location restrictions, employment type, seniority, category, tags, salary range, posting date, apply link and full plain-text description**.

Filter by **keywords** (whole-word), **exclude words**, **where you can work from** and **posting age**. The same job posted on several boards is returned **once**, with `alsoPostedOn` showing where else it appears.

### How to run it in 3 steps

1. **Add your input.** In **Keywords (any)** paste job titles or skills — 7 remote boards are searched at once — e.g. `python`. The form is already filled with a working example, so you can skip this step for a first try.
2. **Press Start.** The prefilled run returns 33 jobs in about 3 s and costs about **$0.066**. Set **Max results (cost cap)** to cap the cost of bigger runs; you only pay for jobs actually delivered.
3. **Get the data.** Open the **Output** tab and export JSON, CSV or Excel — or run it from the API, Make, Zapier, n8n or an AI agent (see below).

### Features

- **One run instead of seven scrapers**, one schema instead of seven formats.
- **Smart dedupe** across boards (company + title).
- **Location-aware:** keep jobs open to your region plus all "Worldwide/Anywhere" roles.
- **Fresh:** "posted within N days" stops early on date-sorted feeds.
- **Clean text:** HTML descriptions converted to readable plain text.
- **Pay per job:** $2 per 1,000 unique jobs.

### Use cases

- **Remote job boards & newsletters:** power a niche board ("remote Python jobs in Europe") on a schedule.
- **Job seekers & career coaches:** one daily list across all major remote boards.
- **Recruiters & sales:** companies hiring remotely, with their websites.
- **Labour-market research** on remote work, salaries and skills.

### Use with AI agents (MCP), LangChain, RAG & the API

This actor is a ready-made **tool for AI agents**: an LLM can call it, wait for the run and read clean JSON back.

**MCP server (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, any MCP client)** — add Apify's hosted MCP server with this actor enabled as a tool:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "apify": {
      "url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=torix33/remote-jobs-aggregator",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <APIFY_TOKEN>" }
    }
  }
}
```

**LangChain / LangGraph** (`pip install langchain-apify`, set `APIFY_API_TOKEN`):

```python
from langchain_apify import ApifyActorsTool, ApifyWrapper
from langchain_core.documents import Document
## 1) give the actor to an agent as a tool
tool = ApifyActorsTool("torix33/remote-jobs-aggregator")
## 2) or load results as Documents for a RAG index
loader = ApifyWrapper().call_actor(
    actor_id="torix33/remote-jobs-aggregator",
    run_input={"keywords": ["python", "data engineer"], "excludeKeywords": ["intern"], "locationFilter": "Europe, Germany", "postedWithinDays": 7, "sources": ["remoteok", "remotive", "himalayas", "jobicy", "weworkremotely", "workingnomads", "arbeitnow"], "remoteOnly": True, "deduplicate": True, "maxJobsPerSource": 500},
    dataset_mapping_function=lambda item: Document(page_content=item["description"], metadata={"url": item.get("url")}),
)
docs = loader.load()
```

**REST API — one synchronous call, dataset items in the response:**

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/torix33~remote-jobs-aggregator/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<APIFY_TOKEN>" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"keywords": ["python", "data engineer"], "excludeKeywords": ["intern"], "locationFilter": "Europe, Germany", "postedWithinDays": 7, "sources": ["remoteok", "remotive", "himalayas", "jobicy", "weworkremotely", "workingnomads", "arbeitnow"], "remoteOnly": true, "deduplicate": true, "maxJobsPerSource": 500}'
```

Also works with the Apify Python/JS clients, **Make, Zapier, n8n**, Google Sheets, webhooks and schedules. Export as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or RSS.

**RAG tip:** Build a job-matching agent: embed `title` + `description`, then match against a CV and return `url` for the top hits.

### Pricing

- **$2.00 per 1,000 jobs** ($0.002 per job).
- The prefilled input returns 35 jobs → **$0.07**.
- Example: 1,000 jobs → $2.00; 10,000 → $20.00. Set **Max results (cost cap)** to limit any run.

Duplicates and filtered-out jobs are free.

### Limitations

- Data comes from the boards' public APIs and RSS feeds; please respect each board's terms and link back to the original posting.
- Each board exposes its most recent jobs (from ~50 on Working Nomads to thousands on Himalayas).

### FAQ

**Which job boards are included?**
Seven remote job boards via their public APIs/RSS feeds; choose them in `sources`.

**Are duplicates removed?**
Yes. The same job posted on several boards (company + title) is returned and billed once.

**Can I build a remote job alert?**
Yes. Schedule a daily run with `postedWithinDays: 1` and connect a webhook, Slack or email integration.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs mentioning at least one of these words in title, tags, category or description (whole-word match). Empty = all jobs.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title or tags contain any of these (e.g. <code>senior</code>, <code>sales</code>).

## `locationFilter` (type: `string`):

Comma-separated regions/countries you can work from, e.g. <code>Europe, Germany</code>. Jobs open worldwide are always kept.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

<code>0</code> = any age.

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Job boards to include.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Arbeitnow also lists on-site jobs; keep this on to return remote roles only.

## `deduplicate` (type: `boolean`):

The same job posted on several boards is returned once, with <code>alsoPostedOn</code> listing the other boards.

## `maxJobsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Cap per job board.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs in total. <code>0</code> = no limit.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Requests go direct first; if a board rate-limits, retries switch to these proxies.
