## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Career Site Jobs Scraper — Greenhouse, Lever, Workday & Ashby

Get every open job straight from a company's own career site. Paste careers pages, company websites or job-board links, and the actor finds the applicant tracking system (ATS) behind them, reads its **public job-board API** and returns one clean row per job: title, company, department, locations and country, remote/hybrid, employment type, **salary range** when the company publishes one, posted and updated dates, requisition id, job and apply links, and the **full description**.

Supported ATSs: **Greenhouse**, **Lever** (incl. EU), **Ashby**, **Workday**, **Workable**, **SmartRecruiters**, **Recruitee**, **Personio** and **Teamtailor** (plus Breezy HR). No login, no API keys, no browser: just the same public JSON/XML feeds the companies' own career pages load, so runs are fast, cheap and stable.

Typical uses: job alerts for target companies, hiring signals for sales and recruiting (who is hiring which roles, where), salary benchmarking, feeding a job board or an LLM pipeline.

### What data does Career Site Jobs Scraper extract?

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `jobId` | Stable unique id: `<ats>:<board>:<id>`, e.g. `greenhouse:figma:5426468004` |
| `atsJobId`, `requisitionId` | The ATS's own job id and the company's requisition / reference number (when published) |
| `ats`, `companyName`, `companySlug`, `careerSiteUrl` | Which ATS, the company, its board slug and board URL |
| `title`, `department`, `team` | Job title and the department / team the company files it under |
| `location`, `locations` | Location as the company writes it, plus every location of multi-location jobs |
| `city`, `region`, `country`, `countryCode` | Structured location when the ATS gives it; otherwise the country is read from the location text (ISO code) |
| `isRemote`, `isHybrid`, `workplaceType` | Remote / hybrid flags and `remote` / `hybrid` / `onsite` when known |
| `employmentType`, `seniority`, `jobFunction` | E.g. "Full-time", "Mid-Senior level", "Engineering" (as far as the ATS publishes them) |
| `salaryText`, `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryPeriod`, `salarySource` | Pay range: from the ATS's pay fields (`salarySource: "ats"`, e.g. Greenhouse pay ranges, Ashby compensation, Lever salary range, Personio/Recruitee salary) or from the first pay range written in the description (`"description"`, e.g. "$164,000 - $261,500 annually" on Workday) |
| `postedAt`, `updatedAt`, `postedAgo` | First published / last updated (UTC, ISO 8601); `postedAgo` is Workday's "Posted 3 Days Ago" label |
| `url`, `applyUrl` | Job page and application link |
| `description`, `descriptionHtml` | Full description as readable text and as HTML (with **Include full job description**) |
| `detailsFetched`, `detailError` | Whether the job's own page was opened (Workday / SmartRecruiters) |
| `sourceUrl`, `scrapedAt` | Which input produced the job, and when |
| `changeType` | `new` in monitoring mode (see below) |

What each ATS publishes differs: Greenhouse has no employment type unless the company adds it as a custom field, Workday's list shows "3 Locations" until the job page is opened, Lever and Workday do not name the company in their API (the actor uses the board name, or the name from the careers page it was found on; set your own with `companyName`).

### How to scrape jobs from company career sites

1. Paste URLs into **Career site or job board URLs**. Any of these work:
   - an ATS board: `https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/figma`, `https://jobs.lever.co/palantir`, `https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai`, `https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite`, `https://apply.workable.com/huggingface/`, `https://careers.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup`, `https://tado.jobs.personio.de/`, `https://bunq.recruitee.com/`;
   - a company careers page or homepage: `https://linear.app/careers`, `https://www.palantir.com/` (the actor looks for job links, iframes and embed scripts, follows the "Careers" link and tries `/careers` and `/jobs`);
   - a single job URL from a board (the whole board is scraped).
2. Or list boards you already know under **Boards as ats:slug**: `greenhouse:stripe`, `lever:palantir`, `ashby:openai`, `workable:huggingface`, `smartrecruiters:BoschGroup`, `workday:https://salesforce.wd12.myworkdayjobs.com/External_Career_Site`.
3. Optional filters: **Title keywords**, **Locations**, **Departments**, **Remote jobs only**, **Posted within (days)**, **Max jobs per company**.
4. Click **Start**. Jobs appear in the **Output** tab, newest first per company; export JSON, CSV or Excel, or use the API.

A Workday job with descriptions on looks the same, with `"ats": "workday"`, every location (`["Georgia - Atlanta", "Illinois - Chicago", "Washington - Seattle", ...]`), `"employmentType": "Full time"`, `"workplaceType": "hybrid"`, the exact posting date, `"salaryText": "$164,000 - $261,500"` read from the description (`"salarySource": "description"`) and `"detailsFetched": true`.

### How to scrape Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or Workday jobs

Paste the board URL (or `greenhouse:<token>`, `lever:<company>`, `ashby:<name>`). The actor calls each ATS's public posting API: Greenhouse's Job Board API returns the whole board with descriptions and pay ranges in one request, Lever and Ashby likewise (Ashby includes compensation tiers), Workday is read 20 jobs per request from the career site's own JSON endpoint. For Workday you can paste a career-site URL with filters you set on the site (location, job category); they are applied as Workday facets. Lever's EU instance (`jobs.eu.lever.co`) is detected automatically.

### Which ATS does a company use? Can I just give the company website?

Yes. Give the careers page (best) or the homepage. The actor opens it, counts links, iframes and embed scripts that point to a supported ATS and picks the board mentioned most; if the homepage has none it follows the "Careers"/"Jobs" link and tries `/careers` and `/jobs` (at most 4 pages per site). The run's `SUMMARY` (Storage → Key-value store) lists, per input, which board was found and where. Sites built on an unsupported ATS (Taleo, iCIMS, SuccessFactors, custom systems) are reported there and skipped, at no charge.

### Does it work without login or API keys?

Yes. Every endpoint is the public job-board feed the ATS offers so companies can show their jobs on their own websites: no account, no API key, no cookies. The actor reads only published job ads. Internal jobs, candidate data and anything behind a login are never touched.

### Monitor changes on a schedule

Turn on **Only new jobs (monitoring)** and save the input as a task with a Schedule (Apify Console → Schedules), e.g. every morning. Each run remembers the jobs earlier runs of the same input returned and outputs only jobs that are **new** since then, with `changeType: "new"`; jobs seen before are not output and not charged, and their Workday/SmartRecruiters job pages are not opened. With **Max jobs per company**, monitoring watches that many newest jobs per company. Use **Monitoring key** to keep several schedules on the same companies apart. This is the cheapest way to get job alerts or hiring signals for a list of target accounts.

### How is this different from career-site job databases?

Some Store actors sell a pre-crawled database of career-site jobs from companies *they* chose, typically at $0.012 per job. This actor scrapes the companies **you** bring, live, at the moment you run it, from the ATS itself, at a fraction of the price. If you need "every job posted anywhere in the last hour" without knowing the companies, a database product fits better; if you track a list of companies, this one is fresher and cheaper.

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

- **$0.0015 per job** saved (all fields above; descriptions are included at no extra cost for Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Recruitee, Personio, Teamtailor).
- **+$0.001 per job** for Workday and SmartRecruiters jobs when **Include full job description** is on, because their lists have no descriptions and the actor opens each job's page (for Workday this also adds every location, the exact posting date, time type and remote type).

1,000 jobs cost $1.50; 1,000 Workday jobs with descriptions $2.50. Platform usage is tiny (most boards are one request, no proxy traffic). Monitoring runs only charge for new jobs. Inputs that point to no supported board cost nothing.

### Proxy note

These are public APIs, so by default the actor connects directly (no proxy), which is also the fastest. Turn on Apify Proxy (datacenter) only if a run log shows 403 or 429 answers; Lever is read directly in any case because its API is very slow through proxies. No residential proxy and no Unblocker are ever needed.

### Integrations and API

Use the results in Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Airtable or your CRM, or call the actor from Python / Node.js with the Apify client (see the **API** tab). A Schedule plus monitoring gives you a daily feed of new jobs at your target companies.

### Is it legal to scrape career sites?

The actor reads only job ads that companies publish openly on their career sites through their ATS's public job-board feed. It does not log in, does not collect candidate or employee data, and does not access anything hidden or internal. Recruiter names that a company chooses to print in a job description stay part of that description. You are responsible for how you use the data and for complying with the sites' terms and applicable law (e.g. the GDPR).

### Support

Missing an ATS, a field or a company that does not work? Open an issue in the **Issues** tab; it is usually answered within a day.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Company careers pages, homepages or ATS job-board URLs. The ATS is detected from the URL (e.g. https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/figma, https://jobs.lever.co/palantir, https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai, https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite) or, for a company site such as https://linear.app/careers, from the job links, iframes and embed scripts on the page. A single job URL scrapes that whole board.

## `boards` (type: `array`):

Optional: boards you already know, written as ats:slug, e.g. greenhouse:stripe, lever:palantir, ashby:openai, workable:huggingface, smartrecruiters:BoschGroup, recruitee:bunq, personio:tado, teamtailor:career, breezy:acme, or workday:https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite. Add eu/ for Lever's EU instance (lever:eu/acme). Via the API you can also pass objects: {"ats": "greenhouse", "slug": "stripe", "companyName": "Stripe"}.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose title contains at least one of these words or phrases (case-insensitive), e.g. engineer, sales, "product manager". Leave empty for all jobs.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose location text, city, region or country contains one of these, e.g. London, Germany, US, Remote. Leave empty for all locations.

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose department or team contains one of these, e.g. Engineering, Sales.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs the ATS marks as remote (or whose location says Remote).

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep only jobs published in the last N days. Workday only shows 'Posted 3 Days Ago' style dates in its list, so its dates are approximate. Jobs without a date are left out when this is set.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Add the full description (plain text and HTML). Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Recruitee, Personio and Teamtailor send it with the job list (no extra cost). Workday and SmartRecruiters need one extra request per job, charged as 'Job details fetched'; for Workday that also adds all locations, the exact posting date, time type and remote type.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs in total. Keeps cost predictable.

## `maxItemsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Optional cap per board (newest jobs first). With monitoring on, it is the number of newest jobs watched per board.

## `onlyNewOrChanged` (type: `boolean`):

Remember what earlier runs of this input returned and output only jobs that are new since then. Use with a Schedule; jobs seen before are not output and not charged.

## `monitoringKey` (type: `string`):

Name for this watch, so several schedules on the same input stay separate; defaults to a key derived from the input.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed: these are public job-board APIs and direct requests are fastest. Turn on Apify Proxy (datacenter) only if a run log shows 403/429 answers. Lever is always read directly because its API is very slow through proxies. No residential proxy or Unblocker is ever needed.
