## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Greenhouse Jobs Scraper: Job Boards & Postings

Scrape Greenhouse jobs from any Greenhouse job board or company careers site built on Greenhouse: every job posting with title, department, location, pay range, posted date, full description and apply URL, filtered by keyword, location or department. Public API, no login or key needed.

Paste a board link such as `https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/figma` or a company careers page, and the actor reads the board through **Greenhouse's public Job Board API**, the same feed the company's own careers page loads. One request returns the whole board, descriptions included, so a run with a few boards finishes in seconds and costs a fraction of a cent per job. Typical uses: job alerts for target companies, hiring signals for sales and recruiting (who is hiring which roles, where, at what pay), salary benchmarking, feeding a job board, a CRM or an LLM pipeline.

### What data does Greenhouse Jobs Scraper extract?

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `jobId` | Stable unique id `greenhouse:<board>:<job id>`, e.g. `greenhouse:figma:5426468004` |
| `atsJobId`, `requisitionId` | Greenhouse's own job id and the company's requisition number (when published) |
| `ats`, `companyName`, `companySlug`, `careerSiteUrl` | Always `greenhouse`; the company name as the board reports it, the board token and the board URL |
| `title`, `department` | Job title and the Greenhouse department(s) the job is filed under |
| `location`, `locations`, `offices` | Location as the company writes it, split into a list for multi-location jobs, plus the names of the Greenhouse offices the job belongs to |
| `country`, `countryCode` | Country read from the location or office text (ISO 3166 alpha-2) |
| `isRemote`, `isHybrid`, `workplaceType` | `remote` / `hybrid` when the location, the title or a custom field says so |
| `employmentType` | Only when the company publishes it as a custom field: Greenhouse has no standard field for it |
| `salaryText`, `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryPeriod`, `salarySource` | Pay range from the posting's pay-transparency block (`salarySource: "ats"`, e.g. `$160,000 – $200,000 USD (Base Salary)`) or from the first pay range written in the description (`"description"`) |
| `postedAt`, `updatedAt` | First published and last updated (UTC, ISO 8601) |
| `language`, `metadata` | Posting language and the board's custom fields that carry a value, e.g. `{"Careers Site Department": "Product Engineering"}` |
| `url`, `applyUrl` | The job page on the Greenhouse board; the application form is on the same page |
| `description`, `descriptionHtml` | Full posting as readable text (headings, bullets) and as HTML, with **Include full job description** (on by default) |
| `sourceUrl`, `scrapedAt` | Which input produced the job, and when |
| `changeType` | `new` in monitoring mode (see below) |

### How to scrape Greenhouse jobs

1. Paste links into **Greenhouse board or careers page URLs**: board links (`https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/figma`, `https://boards.greenhouse.io/figma`), a single job link (the whole board is scraped), an embedded board link (`...greenhouse.io/embed/job_board?for=figma`), or the company's own careers page (`https://www.figma.com/careers`). Or list board tokens under **Board tokens**: `figma`, `discord`, `airbnb`.
2. Optional filters: **Title keywords**, **Locations**, **Departments**, **Remote jobs only**, **Posted within (days)**, **Max jobs per board**.
3. Click **Start**. Jobs appear in the **Output** tab, newest first per board; export JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

The run's `SUMMARY` record (Storage → Key-value store) lists, per input, which board was found, how many jobs it listed, how many matched the filters and how many were saved, plus any tokens that do not exist (`boardsNotFound`) and sites where no Greenhouse board was found.

### Which Greenhouse URLs work?

- **Board pages**: `https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/<token>` and the older `https://boards.greenhouse.io/<token>`; the token is the company's name in that URL.
- **Job pages** on those hosts (`.../figma/jobs/5426468004`): the whole board is scraped, and filters narrow it down.
- **Embedded boards** that companies place on their own sites: `https://boards.greenhouse.io/embed/job_board?for=<token>` and `.../embed/job_app?for=<token>`, as well as the API URL `https://boards-api.greenhouse.io/v1/boards/<token>/jobs`.
- **EU-hosted boards** (`https://job-boards.eu.greenhouse.io/<token>`, used by companies in Greenhouse's European data centre): supported; they are served by the same public API. In **Board tokens**, write them as `eu/<token>` so the job links point to the EU host.
- **Company careers pages and homepages** (`https://www.figma.com/careers`): the actor opens the page, looks for Greenhouse links, iframes and embed scripts, and if the homepage has none it follows the "Careers" link and tries `/careers` and `/jobs` (at most 4 pages per site). Sites whose jobs are not on Greenhouse are reported in `SUMMARY` and cost nothing. For companies on Lever, Ashby, Workday, Workable, SmartRecruiters, Recruitee, Personio or Teamtailor, use our [Career Site Jobs Scraper](https://apify.com/tortuga/career-site-jobs-scraper), which returns the same core fields.

### Does it need a login or API key?

No. Greenhouse's Job Board API is public by design: it is how companies show their open jobs on their own websites, and Greenhouse's documentation states that no authentication is required for reading it. The actor sends one request per board, reads only published job postings, and never touches internal jobs, candidate data or anything behind a login. No proxy, browser or CAPTCHA solving is involved, which is why runs are fast and stable.

### Monitor new Greenhouse jobs on a schedule

Turn on **Only new jobs (monitoring)**, save the input as a task and give it a Schedule in Apify Console (for example every morning). Each run remembers the jobs that earlier runs of the same input returned and outputs only the jobs that are **new** since then, marked `changeType: "new"`; jobs seen before are neither output nor charged. With **Max jobs per board**, monitoring watches that many newest jobs per board. Use **Monitoring key** to keep several schedules on the same boards apart. This is the cheapest way to get job alerts or hiring signals for a list of target companies.

### Pricing

Pay per job, no subscription: **$0.0015 per job saved**, with every field above and the full description included. 1,000 jobs cost $1.50; the price includes the platform usage of the run. Jobs removed by your filters, boards that do not exist and jobs already seen in monitoring mode are not charged. Apify's free plan is enough to try it.

### Is it legal to scrape Greenhouse job boards?

The actor reads only job postings that companies publish openly on their Greenhouse boards through the public Job Board API: public, non-personal business data. It does not log in, does not collect candidate or employee data, and does not access anything hidden or internal. A recruiter's name that a company prints inside a posting stays part of that posting's description. You are responsible for how you use the data and for complying with the sites' terms and applicable law (for example the GDPR).

### Integrations and API

Use the results in Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Airtable or your CRM, or call the actor from Python or Node.js with the Apify client (see the **API** tab). A Schedule plus monitoring gives you a daily feed of new jobs at your target companies.

### Support

A board, field or company that does not work? Open an issue in the **Issues** tab; it is usually answered within a day.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Greenhouse job board URLs (https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/figma, https://boards.greenhouse.io/figma, the job-boards.eu.greenhouse.io variants, an embedded board URL with ?for=<token>, or a single job URL: the whole board is scraped), or company careers pages and homepages such as https://www.figma.com/careers: the actor finds the Greenhouse board in the page's links, iframes and embed scripts, following the Careers link, /careers and /jobs if needed.

## `boards` (type: `array`):

Optional: Greenhouse board tokens you already know, i.e. the name in the board URL https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/<token>, e.g. figma, discord, airbnb. Prefix eu/ for boards hosted on job-boards.eu.greenhouse.io (eu/bitpanda). Via the API you can also pass objects: {"token": "figma", "companyName": "Figma"}.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose title contains at least one of these words or phrases (case-insensitive), e.g. engineer, sales, "product manager". Leave empty for all jobs.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose location, office or country contains one of these, e.g. London, Germany, US, Remote. Leave empty for all locations.

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Keep only jobs whose Greenhouse department contains one of these, e.g. Engineering, Sales.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs whose location or title says Remote, or that the board marks as remote in a custom field.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep only jobs first published in the last N days (Greenhouse gives the exact publication time of every job).

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Add the full description as plain text and HTML (description, descriptionHtml). Greenhouse sends it with the job list, so it costs nothing extra; turn it off for a smaller dataset. Pay ranges are read from the posting either way.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs in total. Keeps cost predictable.

## `maxItemsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Optional cap per board (newest jobs first). With monitoring on, it is the number of newest jobs watched per board.

## `onlyNewOrChanged` (type: `boolean`):

Remember what earlier runs of this input returned and output only jobs that are new since then. Use with a Schedule; jobs seen before are not output and not charged.

## `monitoringKey` (type: `string`):

Name for this watch, so several schedules on the same input stay separate; defaults to a key derived from the input.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed: Greenhouse's job board API is public and direct requests are fastest. Turn on Apify Proxy (datacenter) only if a run log shows 403/429 answers. No residential proxy or Unblocker is ever needed.
