## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Amazon Search Results API: Products & Prices (unofficial)

Get **the products an Amazon search shows** for any search term: ASIN, title, price, rating, number of reviews, purchases in the past month, sponsored or organic, Best Seller and Amazon's Choice badges, coupons and delivery text, in the order they appear. **10 marketplaces.** No subscription, no Amazon account and no proxies needed.

**Price: $2.00 per 1,000 products. Searches with no products are free.**

This Actor is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Amazon. "Amazon" is used only to say which public search results the data describes.

### What you get for each product

| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| `keyword` | The search term you gave |
| `country`, `marketplace` | Marketplace code and domain, for example `US` and `amazon.com` |
| `position` | Position among the products of that search (1 = first product shown) |
| `sponsored` | `true` for ads, `false` for organic results |
| `asin` | The product's ASIN |
| `title` | Product title |
| `url` | Product page (`https://www.amazon.com/dp/<ASIN>`) |
| `imageUrl` | Main product image |
| `price`, `priceTo` | Price shown, and the top of the range when a price range is shown |
| `currency` | Currency code, for example `USD` |
| `rating` | Average rating, 1-5 |
| `reviewsCount` | Number of ratings |
| `boughtPastMonth` | Purchases in the past month, when the marketplace shows it |
| `isAmazonChoice`, `isBestSeller` | The "Amazon's Choice" and "Best Seller" badges |
| `delivery` | Delivery text as shown, for example "FREE delivery Wed, Oct 28" |
| `specialOffers` | Coupons and deals shown under the product |
| `labels` | Other labels shown on the product |

Example row (real data, October 2026):

```json
{
  "keyword": "running shoes",
  "country": "US",
  "marketplace": "amazon.com",
  "position": 1,
  "sponsored": true,
  "asin": "B0DPHTQTQ8",
  "title": "Men's Revolution 8 Road Running Shoes",
  "url": "https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DPHTQTQ8",
  "imageUrl": "https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61dQUNsBwiL._AC_UL320_.jpg",
  "price": 67.97,
  "currency": "USD",
  "rating": 4.4,
  "reviewsCount": 5700,
  "isAmazonChoice": false,
  "isBestSeller": false,
  "delivery": "FREE delivery Wed, Oct 28"
}
```

### Totals per search

One record per search term, in the key-value store record `SEARCHES`: `resultsCount` (results the marketplace reported), `productsReturned` (rows delivered and charged in this run), `searchUrl` (the search page that was read) and `hasData` (`false` when the search showed no products; not charged).

### Input

```json
{
  "keywords": ["running shoes", "wireless earbuds"],
  "country": "US",
  "maxProductsPerKeyword": 100,
  "sortBy": "relevance",
  "includeSponsored": true
}
```

- **keywords**: up to 20 per run, as you would type them in the search box. Duplicates are removed before anything is charged.
- **country**: US, GB, CA, AU, IN, DE, FR, IT, ES or MX (10 marketplaces).
- **maxProductsPerKeyword**: 1 to 700. Default 100. A results page has about 50-70 products; more products means reading more pages.
- **sortBy**: `relevance` (default), `featured`, `priceLowToHigh`, `priceHighToLow`, `avgCustomerReview` or `newestArrival`.
- **department**: optional, for example `Electronics` or `Sports & Outdoors`.
- **minPrice**, **maxPrice**: optional whole numbers in the marketplace's currency.
- **includeSponsored**: keep ads (marked `sponsored: true`). On by default.
- **dryRun**: returns clearly fake sample rows (marked `sampleData: true`) to test an integration. Free.

A product that appears both as an ad and as an organic result is returned once, at its first position.

### Pricing, exactly

| Products returned | You pay |
|---|---|
| 10 | $0.02 |
| 100 | $0.20 |
| 1,000 | $2.00 |

- **$0.002 per product** ("Product"): you pay exactly for the rows in your dataset. Apify may also bill its small standard Actor start fee.
- Searches with no products and failed searches are never charged.
- Your **maximum cost per run** is respected: before each search the Actor asks only for the products that fit, and the status message tells you if some search terms were left out (not charged).
- Users on the Apify Free plan can run 1 search term and get 10 products per run. Any paid Apify plan removes the limit.

### Speed

Each search takes about 30-70 seconds. Up to 4 search terms run at the same time.

### Where the data comes from

The results come from the [DataForSEO](https://dataforseo.com/) Merchant API, which reads the public search results pages of each marketplace. Prices, ratings and badges are what the search page showed at that moment; they can differ by delivery location and change during the day.

### Use it from code or an AI agent

Call it through the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2) or the Apify MCP server like any Actor. Product rows are in the default dataset (view `overview` for the main columns); totals per search are in the key-value store record `SEARCHES`; a run summary (counts and amount charged) is in the record `OUTPUT`.

### Limits

- Search results only: no product detail pages, reviews text or seller lists.
- Other marketplaces (Japan, Brazil, Netherlands and more) are not offered yet.

### Support

Open an issue on the Actor's Issues tab.
