## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Company Leadership Finder: Founders, Executives, No LinkedIn

**Company leadership finder**: give it company domains and get the founders, executives and managers each company lists on its own team, about and leadership pages, with name, title, seniority and the exact source page. No LinkedIn and no email guessing.

Give this Actor a list of company domains. It reads each company's own public pages (home, team, about, leadership, board and press) and returns the founders, executives and managers the company lists there: name, job title, seniority level, and the exact page the name came from. No LinkedIn, no login, no cookies, no API key, and no guessing of email addresses.

**Price:** $0.015 per domain that returns at least one person = **$15 per 1,000 domains**. A domain is charged once, however many people come back from it (up to your per-domain cap). Domains with no people, unreachable sites and pages blocked by robots.txt are never charged. A run also carries a $0.00005 start fee.

### What is Company Leadership Finder: Founders, Executives, No LinkedIn?

Give it company domains, get the founders, executives and managers a company lists on its own team, about and leadership pages: name, title, seniority, source page. No LinkedIn, no login, no email guessing. Run it from the Apify Console, the API or a schedule, and export the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML.

### Who it is for

- Sales and outbound teams that have a target-account list (domains) and need to know who runs each company before writing a single email.
- Recruiters and agencies mapping the leadership of the companies they sell to or hire for.
- Analysts who want a repeatable, public-source answer to "who is the CEO / founder / head of X at this company" across hundreds of firms.

### What you get

One dataset row per person:

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `domain`, `companyName` | The company the person was found on |
| `personName`, `jobTitle` | As written on the company's own page |
| `seniority`, `seniorityRank` | `founder`, `c_level`, `vp_partner`, `director`, `manager` or `other`, plus a number for sorting and filtering (1 = founder ... 6 = other) |
| `isFounder`, `isCLevel` | Booleans for easy filtering |
| `publishedEmail` | Only when the page itself shows a mailto: link inside that person's card, otherwise `null` |
| `sourceType`, `sourceUrl` | `team`, `leadership`, `about`, `board`, `press` or `home`, and the exact URL |
| `extractionMethod` | `json-ld` (schema.org Person/founder markup), `card` (name plus title in the same block) or `text-pattern` (a sentence such as "Jane Doe, CEO" or "founded by ...") |
| `confidence`, `confidenceScore` | `high` (90) for json-ld and card, `medium` (60) for text-pattern |
| `scrapedAt` | ISO timestamp |

#### Sample output

```json
[
  {
    "domain": "posthog.com", "companyName": "PostHog",
    "personName": "James Hawkins", "jobTitle": "Co-founder", "seniority": "founder",
    "isFounder": true, "isCLevel": true, "publishedEmail": null,
    "sourceType": "about", "sourceUrl": "https://posthog.com/about",
    "extractionMethod": "card", "confidence": "high"
  },
  {
    "domain": "gitlab.com", "companyName": "GitLab",
    "personName": "Bill Staples", "jobTitle": "Chief Executive Officer", "seniority": "c_level",
    "isFounder": false, "isCLevel": true, "publishedEmail": null,
    "sourceType": "team", "sourceUrl": "https://about.gitlab.com/company/team/",
    "extractionMethod": "card", "confidence": "high"
  }
]
```

### Input

| Field | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| `domains` | 10 example domains | Domains or full URLs, one per line |
| `minSeniority` | `any` | `manager`, `director`, `vp_partner` or `c_level` to drop junior titles |
| `maxPeoplePerDomain` | 25 | Most senior people first |
| `maxPagesPerDomain` | 6 | Home page plus team, about, leadership and press pages |
| `maxDomains` | all | Stop after this many domains |

### Pricing and cost

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| `domain-result`: one domain that returns at least one person | $0.015 |
| Actor start (once per run) | $0.00005 |

Example: 200 domains where 150 publish a team page cost 150 x $0.015 = $2.25. Domains with no people, unreachable sites and robots.txt blocks are free. Set a maximum cost per run in the run options to cap spend.

### Use cases

1. **Account research:** paste 500 target domains, set `minSeniority` to `vp_partner`, and get a who-runs-what sheet for your sales team in minutes.
2. **Founder lists:** set `minSeniority` to `c_level` to pull founders and C-suite for a funding, hiring or partnership campaign.
3. **Change monitoring:** schedule the Actor weekly on a fixed domain list and compare the datasets to spot leadership changes. Send the rows to a sheet or CRM through the Apify integrations for Make, n8n and Zapier.

### Limits (what it will not do, read before you buy)

- It reads public company pages only. It does not log in, does not use LinkedIn or any social network, and never guesses or "verifies" email addresses.
- A person appears only if the company publishes them. Small sites with no team page return nothing, and you are not charged for that.
- Sites that draw their team page entirely with JavaScript can come back empty; try the site's about or press URL in the domains list.
- `text-pattern` rows come from sentences on the page and are marked `medium` confidence: spot-check them before outreach.
- robots.txt is respected. A domain that disallows the pages is skipped and not charged.

### FAQ

**Does it use LinkedIn?** No. It only reads the company's own public pages.

**Does it find email addresses?** Only an email the page itself publishes in that person's card. It never guesses or verifies addresses.

**Why did a domain return nothing?** The company publishes no named team, the team page is drawn entirely by JavaScript, or robots.txt disallows it. You are not charged for it.

**How current is the data?** It is read live at run time; `scrapedAt` and `sourceUrl` show when and where.

**Did this actor do the job?** If it saved you time, a short honest review on the [Reviews tab](https://apify.com/transparent_meteorite/decision-maker-finder/reviews) helps other people judge it. If something was off, open an Issue on this page with the input you used. I read every one and fix real bugs, usually the same day.

**This Actor vs pequod-labs/company-decision-maker-finder:** that one adds verified emails, phones and LinkedIn. Choose this one if you want only people a company publishes on its own pages, each with the source page, no LinkedIn and no guessed emails, and a charge only for domains that return at least one person.

### Changelog

- **0.1.2 (2026-10-23):** added `seniorityRank` and `confidenceScore` number fields; README pricing, FAQ and limits sections.
- **0.1 (2026-10-23):** first version. JSON-LD Person/founder markup, card and text-pattern extraction, robots.txt respected, pay per domain with people.
- 2026-10-25: Listing refresh: new Store icon, README reorganised (overview, data fields, pricing, FAQ) and changelog tab added. No code change.

# Actor input Schema

## `domains` (type: `array`):

Company websites to read, one per line: domains (posthog.com) or full URLs. Only the company's own public team, about, leadership and press pages are fetched, honouring robots.txt.

## `minSeniority` (type: `string`):

Drop people below this level. 'any' keeps everyone with a job title.

## `maxPeoplePerDomain` (type: `integer`):

Cap on people returned for each domain (most senior first). A domain is charged once no matter how many people it returns.

## `maxPagesPerDomain` (type: `integer`):

How many pages to read on each site (home page plus team, about, leadership and press pages).

## `maxDomains` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many domains from the list.
