## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Review Pitch Generator — pre-sales reports from worst Google Maps reviews

Point this Actor at a business (or a search of businesses), and it scrapes their **worst recent Google Maps reviews**, then generates a **ready-to-send sales pitch** plus a **shareable HTML report** — the argument that Review Radar would have caught those reviews in 3 minutes.

### Use this tool when

- You sell review-monitoring and want prospects delivered pre-qualified, with the sales argument generated from their own data
- You run outreach to hotels, restaurants, or local businesses and want a personalized report per prospect
- You want an honest pitch: real reviews, real ratings, no fabricated metrics

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `placeUrls` | Google Maps place URLs of the prospects |
| `query` | Alternative: a Maps search (first `maxPlaces` results) |
| `maxPlaces` | How many prospects to analyze (default 5) |
| `maxReviewsPerPlace` | Recent reviews scanned per business (default 15) |
| `worstThreshold` | Reviews at or below this rating go into the report (default 3) |
| `dryRun` | Skip report publishing and billing (testing) |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Residential proxy strongly recommended |

### Output

One dataset item per business: `verdict` (`prospect` or `clean`), `worst` (the 5 worst reviews), `pitch` (ready-to-send text), `reportUrl` (public HTML report in the key-value store).

### How it works

1. Scrapes recent reviews of each place (shared, battle-tested Maps module: consent wall, media blocking, 240s handler timeout, dedup by review ID).
2. Selects reviews at or below the threshold, sorted by rating.
3. Builds the pitch (French by default) and an HTML report stored in the run's key-value store with a public record URL.

### Terms

Public review data only. Keep volumes polite; Google Maps scraping sits uneasily with Google's ToS.

AI-agent ready, API + MCP ready.

# Actor input Schema

## `placeUrls` (type: `array`):

Google Maps place URLs (/maps/place/...) of the prospects to analyze

## `query` (type: `string`):

Google Maps search, e.g. 'restaurants Esch-sur-Alzette' — takes the first maxPlaces results. Ignored if placeUrls is non-empty.

## `maxPlaces` (type: `integer`):

How many prospects to analyze

## `maxReviewsPerPlace` (type: `integer`):

How many recent reviews to scan per business when looking for the worst

## `worstThreshold` (type: `integer`):

Reviews at or below this rating are included in the pitch report

## `mode` (type: `string`):

generate = scrape + pitch + delivery. check-engagement = IMAP reply watch only (no Maps scraping, runs even under Google rate-limit)

## `telemetryEndpoint` (type: `string`):

Base URL of our tracking receiver (e.g. https://track.example.com). Embeds an HMAC-signed 1px pixel in each HTML report; opens trigger CONVERSION\_RECORDED.

## `vertical` (type: `string`):

Sector template for pitch/report: chr (hotels/restaurants), immobilier, sante, artisanat

## `emailMap` (type: `object`):

Mapping place name or Maps URL -> recipient email for outbound delivery. Only used when sendApproval is true.

## `smtpUser` (type: `string`):

Gmail address used to send reports (requires an app password). Secret input.

## `smtpPassword` (type: `string`):

Gmail app password for the SMTP user. Secret input, never logged.

## `sendApproval` (type: `boolean`):

Explicit approval gate: without it, NO email is ever sent (reports are generated only)

## `maxEmailsPerRun` (type: `integer`):

Rate limit: maximum reports emailed in one run (plus 20s inter-send delay and a 20/day global cap)

## `dryRun` (type: `boolean`):

Testing mode: skips report publishing and billing events

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

A residential proxy is strongly recommended — Google Maps blocks datacenter IPs.

# Actor output Schema

## `prospects` (type: `string`):

Shareable HTML pitch reports, one record per business
