## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Reviews Scraper: App Store & Google Play

Collect user reviews from the **Apple App Store** and **Google Play** in one run, in one clean format.

Paste app links or IDs from either store, pick countries, and get rating, title, review text, date, app version and the developer's reply.

### What you can use it for

- **Product teams:** read what users complain about after each release (filter by `appVersion`).
- **Competitor research:** compare reviews of your app and rival apps side by side.
- **Sentiment analysis and AI:** feed clean review text into your own models or LLMs.
- **Agencies and ASO:** track ratings across many countries.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Apps | App Store or Google Play links, or IDs (`389801252`, `com.openai.chatgpt`). Mix both stores freely. |
| Countries | Two-letter codes like `us`, `gb`, `de`. Each country is collected separately. |
| Max reviews per app and country | Default 100. |
| Sort by | Newest or most relevant. |
| Language (Google Play) | Language of Google Play reviews, e.g. `en`. |

### Output example

```json
{
  "store": "googlePlay",
  "appId": "com.openai.chatgpt",
  "appName": "ChatGPT",
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en",
  "reviewId": "654029dc-68e5-47e3-bcdb-2e4f01d845c3",
  "userName": "talha khan tka",
  "rating": 4,
  "title": null,
  "text": "It's very nice to understand something easily.",
  "date": "2026-10-19T14:18:56",
  "appVersion": "1.2026.279",
  "thumbsUpCount": 0,
  "replyText": null,
  "replyDate": null,
  "appUrl": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.openai.chatgpt&hl=en&gl=us",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-20T11:36:31+00:00"
}
```

App Store reviews also have a `title`. Google Play reviews also have `replyText`, `replyDate` and `userImage`.

### Limits

- **App Store:** Apple shares at most **500 reviews per app, country and sort order**. To get more, add more countries or run both sort orders.
- **Google Play:** no fixed limit; large amounts take longer.
- If a store returns nothing, the run log says so clearly and you are not charged for empty results.

### Pricing

You pay only for reviews you get. No start fee.

### Tips

- Export to CSV, Excel or JSON from the Storage tab, or use the API.
- Schedule the actor daily to track new reviews.
