## Pricing

from $3.00 / 1,000 transcribed minutes

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Podcast Transcript & Video to Text – X, Facebook, Loom, RSS

> **TubeText** · Transcripts · Pay per result. No login. Ready for AI agents. [All tools](https://apify.com/tubetext)

### Quick start (no coding)

![Podcast & Video Transcript quick start: click Try for free, paste your input, click Start, export to Excel](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/LMSlay/tubetext-assets/main/any-transcript-quickstart.gif)

1. Click **Try for free** at the top of this page. A free Apify account is enough – it includes monthly credit.
2. In **Links**, paste one link per line – a podcast RSS feed, an Apple Podcasts show or episode, an X/Twitter or Facebook video post, a Loom share, a Twitch clip or a direct audio/video file.
3. Click **Start**. Short videos take under a minute; long episodes are split and transcribed in parallel (a 3¾-hour episode plus 9 other links finished in under 10 minutes).
4. When it says **Succeeded**, open the **Output** tab and click **Export** → **Excel** (or CSV). One row per episode or video: the `transcript` column has the text, plus timestamps or SRT if you turned them on.

**Cost:** $0.004 per minute of speech – a 30-minute episode ≈ $0.12. Music-only, silent and failed items are free.

**Common mistakes**

- Pasting YouTube, TikTok or Instagram links → you get a free row pointing to our dedicated, cheaper transcript tools (listed at the end of this page).
- A podcast feed only gives you 3 episodes → raise **Max episodes per podcast** (newest first).
- Vimeo and Dailymotion links → not supported; you get a free error row.

**Questions or problems?** [Open an issue](https://apify.com/tubetext/any-video-podcast-transcript/issues) (we read every one). **Need a custom version?** Ask in an issue or [email us](mailto:tubettext@gmail.com) – we build it as a private Actor on Apify.

### Use from Claude, Cursor or any MCP client

Add `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=tubetext/any-video-podcast-transcript` as a remote MCP server and sign in to Apify (Claude: **Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector**). Claude Code:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http tubetext "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=tubetext/any-video-podcast-transcript"
```

Then ask, for example: *"Transcribe this Loom video and turn it into a step-by-step doc: \[link]"* or *"Transcribe this X video and summarize the main argument: \[link]"*

🆓 **Free to try:** Apify's free plan includes $5 of usage every month, no credit card needed – enough for about 1,200 minutes of audio with this tool.

**What you get** – real output from a test run, shortened. One row per video or episode:

| Site | Title | Minutes | Transcript |
|---|---|---|---|
| twitter | TED Talks - Americans aren’t just polit… | 3 | Americans are feeling sort of stuck in a doom loop of sorts… |

Turn **podcasts and videos from almost any site into text** with Whisper AI. Paste podcast RSS feeds, Apple Podcasts links, X/Twitter video posts, Facebook videos, Loom shares, Twitch clips or direct audio/video files – mixed in one list – and get a clean transcript, timestamps or SRT for each one. Built for researchers, marketers, newsletter and content teams, and anyone feeding long-form audio into ChatGPT, Claude or a RAG pipeline.

### Why this one

- 🎙️ **Podcasts without the busywork** – an RSS feed or Apple Podcasts show link is enough; the newest episodes are picked up automatically (you choose how many).
- ⏱️ **Long audio is fine** – episodes are split into 10-minute pieces and transcribed in parallel. A 3 h 44 min episode came back as 29,165 words with no gaps; 10 links including that episode finished in 9.5 minutes.
- 🌍 **Any language** – Whisper large-v3 detects the spoken language automatically.
- 💸 **Pay per minute of speech only** – music-only audio, songs, silent clips, private or unsupported links and failures are free.
- 🧩 **Ready for AI** – plain transcript, `[mm:ss]` timestamped text, SRT and WebVTT subtitles, raw segments and optional RAG chunks.
- 🔁 **YouTube, TikTok or Instagram?** Those links return a pointer to our dedicated, cheaper Actors (see below).

### Supported links

| Works (tested in the cloud) | Notes |
|---|---|
| Podcast RSS feeds | newest *N* episodes per feed |
| Apple Podcasts show or episode links | |
| X / Twitter video posts | public posts |
| Facebook public videos | |
| Loom share links | |
| Twitch clips | |
| Direct audio/video file links | e.g. mp3, mp4 |
| SoundCloud, VK | audio download tested |

**Not supported** (you get a free `error` row explaining why): Vimeo (login required), Dailymotion (blocks cloud servers), Douyin.

### Input example

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "https://feeds.npr.org/510318/podcast.xml",
    "https://x.com/TEDTalks/status/2072728824911938015",
    "https://www.loom.com/share/…"
  ],
  "maxEpisodesPerPodcast": 1,
  "includeTimestampedText": true,
  "includeSrt": false
}
```

Options: *Max episodes per podcast* (newest first), *Max length per item* (default 180 min, up to 600), timestamps, SRT, WebVTT (`vtt`), segments, and *Chunk size for AI/RAG* (words).

### Output example

Real output (shortened) for an NPR podcast feed:

```json
{
  "status": "ok",
  "platform": "podcast",
  "podcast": "Planet Money",
  "author": "NPR",
  "title": "Charles Ponzi's scheme (plus a new scam)",
  "episodeUrl": "https://www.npr.org/2026/10/07/nx-s1-5992800/charles-ponzis-scheme-plus-a-new-scam",
  "publishedAt": "2026-10-07T07:00:00Z",
  "durationSeconds": 1739.1,
  "language": "en",
  "transcript": "…",
  "timestampedText": "[00:00] …",
  "wordCount": 4512,
  "billedMinutes": 29
}
```

`status` is `ok`, `no_speech` (music or sound only – free), `lyrics` (a song, not speech – free), `skipped` (e.g. longer than your limit – free) or `error` (unsupported link or failure – free). Video rows also include `viewCount`, `likeCount`, `authorUrl` and `thumbnail` when the site provides them.

### Pricing

Pay per event:

- **$0.004 per transcribed minute** (every started minute, with a 2-second grace), plus Apify's standard Actor start fee. Cheaper on higher Apify plans: $0.0038 / $0.0034 / $0.003.
- Not charged: music-only audio, songs, no speech, unsupported or private links, failures and items over your max length.

Examples: a 29-minute podcast episode ≈ **$0.12**; a 3 h 44 min episode ≈ **$0.90**; 50 one-minute Loom videos ≈ **$0.20–0.40**.

### Use it from n8n, Make, Zapier or your code

One HTTP request runs the Actor and returns the transcripts:

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/tubetext~any-video-podcast-transcript/run-sync-get-dataset-items?timeout=300" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $APIFY_TOKEN" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"urls": ["https://feeds.npr.org/510289/podcast.xml"], "maxEpisodesPerPodcast": 1}'
```

For long podcasts, start a normal run and fetch the dataset when it finishes (sync calls time out after 5 minutes).

### FAQ

**Which podcasts work?** Any podcast with a public RSS feed, plus Apple Podcasts show and episode links.

**How accurate is it?** It uses Whisper large-v3, which is very good on clear speech in major languages. Expect occasional errors on names, heavy accents and crosstalk; speakers are not labelled.

**Why was a link returned as `error`?** The site needs a login, blocks cloud servers, or the post is private or deleted. The row says why, and it is not charged.

**Is this legal?** The Actor only fetches public, logged-out pages and media, and some sites restrict automated access in their terms or robots.txt. You are responsible for having the right to transcribe the content and for how you use the transcripts.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

One per line, mix freely: video pages (X/Twitter, Facebook, Loom, Twitch clips, SoundCloud, VK and many more), podcasts (an RSS feed URL or an Apple Podcasts show or episode link) or direct audio/video files (.mp3, .m4a, .mp4…). For a podcast show, its latest episodes are transcribed.

## `datasetId` (type: `string`):

A dataset from another Actor run (e.g. a Bilibili, X, Reddit or podcast scraper). The video/episode links in it are transcribed; links this Actor can't handle are skipped. Read-only access to this one dataset is requested.

## `datasetSortBy` (type: `string`):

Which links to take first when the dataset has more than 'Max items from dataset'.

## `maxItemsFromDataset` (type: `integer`):

How many links to take from the dataset (each is billed like a link you paste).

## `maxEpisodesPerPodcast` (type: `integer`):

For RSS feeds and Apple Podcasts show links: newest episodes first. Ignored for single episodes and videos.

## `maxMinutesPerItem` (type: `integer`):

Longer videos or episodes are skipped (free) to keep costs predictable.

## `includeTimestampedText` (type: `boolean`):

Adds a 'timestampedText' field with one \[mm:ss] line per sentence.

## `includeSrt` (type: `boolean`):

Adds an 'srt' field in SubRip (.srt) format.

## `includeVtt` (type: `boolean`):

Adds a 'vtt' field in WebVTT (.vtt) format, for web players and video editors.

## `includeSegments` (type: `boolean`):

Adds a 'segments' array of {start, duration, text} in seconds.

## `chunkWords` (type: `integer`):

0 = off. Otherwise adds 'chunks': the transcript split into pieces of about this many words, each with start and end times, ready for embeddings.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many links are processed in parallel.
