## Pricing

from $0.15 / 1,000 reviews

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Steam Reviews Scraper + AI Insights

> **TubeText** · Social, apps & trends · Pay per result. No login. Ready for AI agents. [All tools](https://apify.com/tubetext)

### Quick start (no coding)

![Steam Reviews Scraper quick start: click Try for free, paste your input, click Start, export to Excel](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/LMSlay/tubetext-assets/main/steam-reviews-quickstart.gif)

1. Click **Try for free** at the top of this page. A free Apify account is enough – it includes monthly credit.
2. In **Games**, paste Steam store links, app IDs or game names, one per line (like `https://store.steampowered.com/app/1145360/Hades/`).
3. Click **Start**. Usually done in seconds for a few hundred reviews.
4. When it says **Succeeded**, open the **Output** tab and click **Export** → **Excel** (or CSV). One row per review (recommended or not, text, hours played, votes, date) plus a game summary row with the review score.

**Cost:** $0.0002 per review – 1,000 reviews ≈ $0.20. The AI insights report is $0.05 per game.

**Common mistakes**

- Only want complaints → set **Review type** to negative.
- Reviews in other languages → change **Review language**.
- Want the summary, not the rows → turn on **AI insights report**.

**Questions or problems?** [Open an issue](https://apify.com/tubetext/steam-reviews-scraper/issues) (we read every one). **Need a custom version?** Ask in an issue or [email us](mailto:tubettext@gmail.com) – we build it as a private Actor on Apify.

### Use from Claude, Cursor or any MCP client

Add `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=tubetext/steam-reviews-scraper` as a remote MCP server and sign in to Apify (Claude: **Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector**). Claude Code:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http tubetext "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=tubetext/steam-reviews-scraper"
```

Then ask, for example: *"What do players complain about most in the recent reviews of this game? \[Steam link]"* or *"Get 1,000 reviews of this game and an AI report of feature requests and bugs."*

🆓 **Free to try:** Apify's free plan includes $5 of usage every month, no credit card needed – enough for about 25,000 reviews with this tool.

**What you get** – real output from a test run, shortened. One row per review, plus a game summary row:

| Game | Recommended | Hours played | Date | Review |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hades | 👍 | 363 | 2026-10-12 | Great game, absolute joy to play! |
| Hades | 👍 | 33.4 | 2026-10-12 | Ignore my hours, I played on Epic during the exclusivity (I… |
| Hades | 👍 | 53.6 | 2026-10-12 | Highly recommend, a genuinely fun game. The music and art a… |

Scrape **Steam game reviews** – **recommended or not, review text, date, hours played, helpful and funny votes, language and the developer's reply** – for any game, filtered by **positive/negative, language, date range** and Steam purchases. Every game also gets a summary row with its **Steam review score (Overwhelmingly Positive…), positive %, total reviews, price, developer, publisher, genres, Metacritic score and current players**. Then turn on the **AI insights report**: one English summary per game with the **player sentiment, top complaints and praise (with example quotes and approximate share), feature requests, bugs and performance problems, how new and long-time players differ, and the games players compare it to**. Built for game developers and publishers, indie studios researching a genre, marketing and community teams, and games market analysts. No Steam API key, no login. **$0.20 per 1,000 reviews.**

### What you get

- 🎮 **Review rows** – recommended yes/no, text, date, hours played at review and in total, helpful and funny votes, language, Steam purchase or free key, early-access review, developer reply (reviewer names and Steam IDs are not collected)
- 📊 **Game summary row** – Steam review score, positive %, total/positive/negative reviews, price, discount, developer, publisher, release date, genres, categories, Metacritic score, current players
- 🧠 **AI insights report** (optional) – what players love, what makes them leave a negative review and what they ask for, in plain English, ready for a design or marketing meeting
- 🎯 Filters: **review type** (only negative for complaint research), **language** (30 Steam languages), **date range**, **sort** (most recent or most helpful) and **only Steam purchases**
- 🔎 Games by **store link, app ID or name**

### Input example

```json
{
  "games": ["https://store.steampowered.com/app/1145360/Hades/", "413150", "Hollow Knight"],
  "maxReviewsPerGame": 500,
  "reviewType": "negative",
  "language": "english",
  "startDate": "2026-09-01",
  "aiInsights": true
}
```

### Output example

Real review row (Oct 2026):

```json
{
  "type": "review",
  "gameId": "2357570",
  "gameName": "Overwatch®",
  "recommended": false,
  "text": "Years into the game's release and servers closing mid game happens regularly. Especially on weekends, it feels like every third or fourth game the server crashes.",
  "language": "english",
  "createdAt": "2026-10-12T02:40:30Z",
  "votesHelpful": 1,
  "votesFunny": 0,
  "playtimeAtReviewHours": 593.6,
  "playtimeTotalHours": 593.6,
  "steamPurchase": true,
  "receivedForFree": false,
  "developerResponse": null
}
```

Game summary row (English reviews): `{"type": "game", "gameName": "Hades", "reviewScore": "Overwhelmingly Positive", "positivePercent": 98.4, "totalReviews": 154437, "priceUsd": 24.99, "metacriticScore": 93, "currentPlayers": 3009, "developers": ["Supergiant Games"]}`.

The **AI insights** row (`type: "insights"`) has `summary`, `sentiment` (positive/mixed/negative %), `topComplaints` and `topPraise` (each with issue, approximate share and an example quote), `featureRequests`, `bugs`, `playerSegments` and `comparisons`. It reads up to 300 reviews per game. Choose the **Reviews**, **Games** or **AI insights** view when exporting to Excel/CSV.

### Pricing

Pay per event:

- **$0.20 per 1,000 reviews**.
- **$0.002 per game summary row**.
- **$0.05 per AI insights report** – only when you turn it on and it is delivered.
- Games that are not found and failed requests are free.

Example: 3 competing games × 500 reviews + AI insights ≈ 1,500 × $0.0002 + 3 × $0.002 + 3 × $0.05 ≈ **$0.46**.

### Tips

- **Complaint research**: pick *Not recommended only* and turn on AI insights to get a ranked list of what players hate in your game – or in your competitors'.
- **Genre research before you build**: run the top 5–10 games of your genre with AI insights and compare `topComplaints` and `featureRequests` – the gaps are your design opportunities.
- **Update and launch monitoring**: set a date range around a patch or launch and compare the positive share before and after; schedule a daily run to catch review bombs early.
- **Markets**: reviews differ a lot by language – run `schinese`, `russian` or `brazilian` separately to see how each market sees the game.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Steam API key or account?** No. The Actor uses Steam's public store endpoints without logging in.

**Are reviewer names collected?** No. Reviewer names, Steam IDs, profile links and avatars are left out; you get the review itself and the hours played.

**How good are the AI insights?** They are written by an AI model from the review texts: great for spotting themes and priorities, but the shares are approximate – check the example quotes and the review rows before quoting numbers.

**Is this legal?** The Actor only reads public reviews without logging in and does not collect reviewers' names or IDs. You are responsible for how you use the data and for complying with Valve's terms.

**Can I cap what a run costs?** Yes – set *Maximum cost per run* in the run options. The run stops cleanly when the next item would go over it, and you are never charged more.
