# Job Postings Scraper & Hiring Watch: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby (`tudorlane/company-hiring-watch`) Actor

Watch target companies' own job boards (Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby public job APIs) and get new jobs, removed jobs and hiring surges since the last run. A classic sales buying signal, without LinkedIn scraping.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Job Postings Scraper & Hiring Watch: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby

**What it does:** Watches your target companies' own job boards (**Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby** public job APIs) and reports **new jobs, closed jobs, hiring surges and slowdowns** since the last run.

**Who it's for:** Sales and account-based-marketing agents (hiring = budget = buying signal), recruiters, investors tracking growth, competitive intelligence.

**Price:** Pay per event: **$0.002 per company checked** + **$0.005 per new job found**. Baseline runs are never charged for jobs. No monthly fee.

### Why it's different

Job scrapers dump everything; this watches **specific companies** and tells you only what changed. It reads the official public job-board APIs that Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby provide for publishing jobs, so it's fast and clean, with no LinkedIn or Indeed scraping.

### How it works

1. **First run = baseline.** Everything currently found is saved to your named key-value store `company-hiring-watch` under your `watchlistId` (also as the run's `SNAPSHOT` record). You see the current results in each row, but no `new-job` charges.
2. **Every later run** reports only what is new since the last run (`changed`, `changes`, `change_types`).
3. If a source is down, that row gets an `error` and the old snapshot is kept, so nothing is missed or double-counted.

### Input

- `companies`: a board slug (`"stripe"`, auto-detects the ATS), `"greenhouse:stripe"`, `"lever:palantir"`, `"ashby:openai"`, a jobs page URL (`https://jobs.lever.co/palantir`), or an object `{"company": "Monzo", "board": "monzo", "locations": ["London"], "titleKeywords": ["engineer"]}`.
- Optional global filters: `titleKeywords`, `locations`, `departments`.

**Signals:** `new_job` (title, location, department, link) · `jobs_removed` · `hiring_surge` (new jobs ≥ 5 and ≥ 15% of open roles) · `hiring_slowdown`.

### Quick example

**Input**

```json
{"companies": ["greenhouse:stripe", "ashby:openai", "palantir"], "titleKeywords": ["sales", "account"], "watchlistId": "targets"}
```

**Row:** `{"key": "ashby:openai", "open_jobs": 809, "top_departments": {"Go To Market": 150, "Applied AI": 120}, "changes": ["New job: Account Director (London, Go To Market) https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/..."]}`

### Use it from AI agents (MCP) and code

- **Apify MCP server:** add `https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=tudorlane/company-hiring-watch` to Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT connectors, VS Code or any MCP client. The Actor appears as a tool the model can call.
- **REST (sync):** `POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/tudorlane~company-hiring-watch/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN` with the input JSON as the body.
- **Schedule it:** Apify Console > Schedules > daily, with the same `watchlistId`. Pipe new items to Slack, email, a webhook, n8n, Make or Zapier.
- **Stateless agents:** pass the previous run's `SNAPSHOT` record as `previousSnapshot` instead of relying on the saved watchlist.

### FAQ

**How do I find a company's board?** Open their careers page: links to `boards.greenhouse.io/<slug>`, `jobs.lever.co/<slug>` or `jobs.ashbyhq.com/<slug>` give the slug. Or just try the company name.

**Workday / SmartRecruiters?** Not yet. Ask on the Issues tab if you need them.

**Support?** Open an issue on the Actor's Issues tab.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Max 300. Board slug ('stripe'), 'greenhouse:stripe' / 'lever:palantir' / 'ashby:openai', a jobs page URL, or {company, board, ats, titleKeywords, locations, departments}.

## `titleKeywords` (type: `array`):

e.g. engineer, sales. Applies to every company unless set per company.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

e.g. London, Remote.

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Lever/Ashby departments, e.g. Sales.

## `watchlistId` (type: `string`):

Name for this watchlist; the snapshot is kept in your named key-value store under this ID so each run compares with the last.

## `previousSnapshot` (type: `object`):

Optional: pass the SNAPSHOT record from an earlier run instead of the saved watchlist (stateless agents).

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "companies": [
    "greenhouse:stripe",
    "ashby:openai"
  ],
  "watchlistId": "default"
}
```
