## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Lead Enrichment & Company Enrichment by Domain

### Use when…

- You have a domain and need company name, emails, phones, socials and tech hints.
- An SDR or enrichment agent must flesh out a lead without LinkedIn scraping.
- You want domain age, email setup (MX/SPF/DMARC) and optional UK Companies House match.

### Try this input

Copy-paste this JSON as the Actor input (it matches a successful run / the default schema):

```json
{
  "requests": [
    {
      "domain": "monzo.com"
    },
    {
      "domain": "python.org"
    }
  ],
  "companyEmailsOnly": true
}
```

### Sample output (real run 2026-10-25)

One dataset item, shortened:

```json
{
  "domain": "python.org",
  "website": "https://www.python.org/",
  "company_name": "Python.org",
  "description": "The official home of the Python Programming Language",
  "logo": "https://www.python.org/static/apple-touch-icon-144x144-precomposed.png",
  "emails": [
    "legal@python.org"
  ],
  "role_emails": [
    "legal@python.org"
  ],
  "all_emails": [
    "legal@python.org"
  ],
  "personal_emails_removed": 0,
  "phones": [],
  "addresses": null,
  "socials": {
    "linkedin": "https://linkedin.com/company/python-software-foundation",
    "x": "https://twitter.com/thepsf",
    "github": "https://github.com/python"
  },
  "…": "+8 more keys"
}
```

Give it a **company domain**, get a sales-ready company profile: name, description, logo, emails, phones, address, social links, tech stack, email setup, domain age and (UK) Companies House match. Public, compliant sources only.

### What it does

- Company name, description, logo from the website and schema.org data
- Emails (company and role addresses), phones and postal address from homepage + contact/about/legal pages (robots.txt obeyed)
- Social profiles as published by the company itself (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, GitHub) - **we never scrape LinkedIn**
- Tech stack hints (CMS, e-commerce, analytics, CDN)
- Email setup: MX provider, SPF and DMARC
- Domain registration date (RDAP) and Wikidata facts where available
- UK companies: best Companies House match (number, status, address, SIC codes)

### Quick start

Click **Start** - the default input already works:

```json
{"requests": [{"domain": "monzo.com"}, {"domain": "python.org"}]}
```

### Sample output (real run, 25 Oct 2026)

| Domain | Company | Emails | Email provider (DMARC) | Tech stack | UK Companies House match |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| monzo.com | Monzo Bank | dpo@monzo.com, help@monzo.com | Google Workspace (reject) | Contentful, Next.js, Amazon CloudFront, Sentry | MONZO BANK LIMITED, 09446231, active |
| wise.com | Wise | ouvidoria@wise.com | Google Workspace (reject) | Next.js, Google Tag Manager, Mixpanel, Cloudflare | WISE LIMITED, 13211214, active |
| apify.com | Apify | hello@apify.com, support@apify.com | Google Workspace (reject) | Next.js, Bootstrap, Google Tag Manager, HubSpot | n/a (Czech company) |

### Use cases

1. **CRM enrichment**: fill company details from just a website.
2. **Lead qualification**: tech stack and email provider tell you who fits.
3. **AI sales agents**: research a prospect in one call.
4. **UK due diligence**: link a website to its Companies House record.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.004 per domain enriched**. Rows with errors are not charged. No subscription.

### Privacy and lawful use

- By default (`companyEmailsOnly: true`) only company role/department addresses are returned (info@, sales@, support@, dpo@...). Personal-name addresses like jane.smith@ are dropped and counted in `personal_emails_removed`.
- If you set `companyEmailsOnly: false`, results may include named people's work emails. Those are personal data: under UK GDPR and PECR (and EU GDPR) you are responsible for having a lawful basis, telling people how you got their details and offering an opt-out before any marketing.
- Some legitimate company addresses that don't use a common role word may also be dropped by the filter.

### FAQ

**Does it find people's personal emails?** No. Only addresses the company publishes on its own site.
**Does it use LinkedIn?** No. Social links come from the company's own pages.
**Can AI agents use it?** Yes - via the Apify API, or add `https://mcp.apify.com?actors=tudorlane/lead-enrichment` to an AI assistant.

### Limits & failure modes

- Only what the company publishes: many sites list no phone or address.
- No headcount or revenue estimates beyond what Wikidata holds.
- Companies House match is UK-only and best-effort by name; pass `company_number` for certainty.
- You are responsible for lawful use of contact data (UK GDPR/PECR).
- No LinkedIn scraping; socials come from the public website and related public sources.
- Contact harvest quality depends on what the site publishes and robots.txt allows.

# Actor input Schema

## `requests` (type: `array`):

Each item: a domain string or {"domain": "monzo.com", "max_pages": 6, "company_number": "optional UK number", "companies_house": true}. Max 1000. Errors are not charged.

## `companyEmailsOnly` (type: `boolean`):

On (default): return only role/department addresses (info@, sales@, support@...) and drop personal-name addresses (e.g. jane.smith@). Turn off to get every address published on the site; you are then responsible for lawful use under UK GDPR/PECR.
