## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

## Pay-Per-Call Landing Page Auditor

Audit pay-per-call landing pages at scale. Give it a list of URLs and it returns, per page:

- **Phone numbers** found on the page (both `tel:` click-to-call links and numbers in the body text)
- **Click-to-call** links specifically
- **Call-tracking / DNI providers** detected (Ringba, Retreaver, CallRail, Invoca, TrackDrive, Marchex, DialogTech, CallTrackingMetrics, WhatConverts, Twilio, Phonexa) — i.e. whether the displayed number is a *tracked/rotating* number
- **Call-readiness score** (0–100): does a visitor actually have a working, tracked way to call?
- **Compliance score** (0–100) + flags: TCPA / express-consent language, privacy policy, terms, and "not affiliated / not a government site" disclaimers

Built for pay-per-call networks, compliance teams, and affiliates QA-ing publisher landers before they push traffic.

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|-------|------|-------------|
| `urls` | array | Landing page URLs to audit (one dataset row per URL). |
| `checkCompliance` | boolean | Run TCPA/consent + disclaimer checks. Default `true`. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Proxy used to fetch pages. Apify Proxy recommended. |
| `maxConcurrency` | integer | Max pages fetched in parallel. Default `10`. |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "urls": [
    { "url": "https://example-lander.com/medicare" },
    { "url": "https://example-lander.com/auto-insurance" }
  ],
  "checkCompliance": true,
  "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": true }
}
```

### Output

Each row in the dataset:

```json
{
  "url": "https://example-lander.com/medicare",
  "httpStatus": 200,
  "pageTitle": "Compare Medicare Plans",
  "phoneNumbers": ["+18005551234", "(800) 555-1234"],
  "clickToCall": ["+18005551234"],
  "callTrackers": ["Ringba"],
  "hasTrackedNumber": true,
  "callReadinessScore": 100,
  "complianceScore": 85,
  "complianceFlags": {
    "tcpaConsent": true,
    "privacyPolicy": true,
    "termsLink": true,
    "notAffiliated": false
  },
  "scrapedAt": "2026-08-30T00:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### How scoring works

**Call-readiness** = 40 (any phone) + 30 (a `tel:` click-to-call link) + 30 (a call-tracking provider detected).

**Compliance** = 40 (TCPA/consent language) + 25 (privacy policy) + 20 (terms) + 15 (disclaimer).

Scores are heuristic signals to triage pages, not legal advice.

### Notes / limitations

- Pages that render numbers **only via client-side JavaScript** may under-report phone numbers, since this actor parses server-rendered HTML. Provider **scripts** are still detected, so `hasTrackedNumber` remains reliable.
- Compliance detection is keyword/pattern based and is meant for triage, not legal certification.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

List of pay-per-call landing pages to audit. One dataset row is produced per URL.

## `checkCompliance` (type: `boolean`):

Detect TCPA/express-consent language, privacy policy, terms, and 'not affiliated' disclaimers.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxy used to fetch the landing pages. Apify Proxy is recommended so cloaked/geo-gated landers resolve.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of landing pages fetched in parallel.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "urls": [
    {
      "url": "https://apify.com"
    }
  ],
  "checkCompliance": true,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  },
  "maxConcurrency": 10
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `auditResults` (type: `string`):

One row per audited landing page, with phone numbers, call-tracker fingerprints, and call-readiness / compliance scores.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "urls": [
        {
            "url": "https://apify.com"
        }
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("tuhin/pay-per-call-landing-auditor").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
