## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Airbnb Scraper

Airbnb Scraper collects Airbnb listings by location search or listing URL: price per night and total stay price, rating and reviews, host and Superhost status, amenities, photos, capacity and coordinates. Short-term rental investors, hosts, property managers and analysts use it to price, compare and research Airbnb markets. It can also attach guest reviews and a 12-month availability calendar to each listing. No Airbnb account or login.

### What you get

One row per listing, with:

- **Listing:** ID, URL, title, subtitle, description, room type, property type, location name and coordinates (with a flag for exact or approximate)
- **Capacity:** guests, bedrooms, beds, bathrooms
- **Price:** currency, check-in and check-out dates, total, price per night, original total when a discount applies, number of nights, Airbnb's price label and the line-by-line breakdown
- **Ratings:** overall rating, review count, category ratings (cleanliness, accuracy, check-in, communication, location, value), Guest favorite flag, badges
- **Host:** ID, name, Superhost and verified status, rating, review count, years hosting, response rate, response time, profile picture
- **Details:** full amenity list, highlights, house rules, all photos with room names
- **Reviews (optional):** newest first, with date, rating, text, language, English translation when Airbnb provides one, reviewer first name and location, and host response
- **Calendar (optional):** 12 months of daily availability with check-in and check-out availability and minimum and maximum nights

### Use cases

- **Short-term rental market research:** compare nightly rates, ratings and capacity across a city or neighbourhood.
- **Pricing for hosts and property managers:** track competitor prices for your dates and guest counts.
- **Investment analysis:** collect bedrooms, capacity, prices and review volume to estimate what listings in an area earn.
- **Availability tracking:** see which nights are open or blocked over the next 12 months.
- **Review analysis:** pull recent reviews for sentiment and topic analysis.

### How to use

1. Open the Actor in Apify Console.
2. Type a **Location** as you would on airbnb.com (for example `Lisbon, Portugal`), or paste Airbnb listing URLs (`/rooms/...`) or search URLs (`/s/...`) copied from your browser. You can use both.
3. Set check-in and check-out dates, guests, currency and **Max listings**. Turn on reviews or the calendar if you need them.
4. Click **Start**. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the Apify API.

### Input example

```json
{
  "locationQuery": "Lisbon, Portugal",
  "checkIn": "2026-11-10",
  "checkOut": "2026-11-13",
  "adults": 2,
  "currency": "EUR",
  "maxItems": 100,
  "includeReviews": true,
  "maxReviews": 20
}
```

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `locationQuery` | Place to search, e.g. `"Lisbon, Portugal"` |
| `startUrls` | Airbnb listing URLs and/or search URLs |
| `checkIn`, `checkOut` | `YYYY-MM-DD`. Set both or neither. Needed for exact prices on listing URLs. |
| `adults`, `children`, `infants`, `pets` | Guest counts (default 1 adult) |
| `minPrice`, `maxPrice` | Nightly price filter for the Location search |
| `currency` | ISO currency code, default `USD` |
| `maxItems` | Total listings to return (default 50) |
| `includeReviews`, `maxReviews` | Add the newest reviews to each listing |
| `includeCalendar` | Add 12 months of daily availability |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Defaults to Apify Proxy |

Search URLs you paste keep their own filters. The Actor adds your currency to them but not the guest counts or price filter.

}
```
`reviews` and `calendar` appear only when you turn them on.
### Pricing
You pay per listing saved to the dataset, including its reviews and calendar when you turn those on. You don't pay for failed pages or duplicates. Set a maximum cost per run in Apify Console, and the Actor stops cleanly when it reaches that limit.
### FAQ
**Is it legal to scrape Airbnb?** The Actor collects only data that anyone can see on airbnb.com without logging in. You are responsible for how you use it, including personal data such as host and reviewer names, under the laws that apply to you (for example GDPR) and Airbnb's terms.
**Do I need an Airbnb account?** No. The Actor never logs in or solves CAPTCHAs.
**Why do I get at most about 270 listings per search?** Airbnb shows no more than 15 pages (about 18 listings each) for one search. To cover a big city, run several smaller searches by neighbourhood or price range, or paste several search URLs. The Actor removes duplicates across them.
**Why is `price` empty for some listings?** Airbnb shows a price only for specific dates. For listing URLs, set `checkIn` and `checkOut`. For searches without dates, Airbnb picks dates for each listing, and `price.checkIn` and `price.checkOut` tell you which ones.
**Does the total include fees?** `total` is the stay price as Airbnb displays it for your currency and market. `breakdown` lists the lines Airbnb shows, such as nightly rate times nights and discounts.
**Does the calendar include daily prices?** No. Airbnb's public calendar returns availability and night rules only. To get prices for specific dates, run the Actor with those dates.
**Are coordinates exact?** Airbnb shows an approximate location until a guest books. `coordinates.isExact` tells you which one you have.
**Will I get blocked?** The Actor retries blocked pages with a new session and proxy IP. The default Apify Proxy works for small runs. For large or frequent runs, use residential proxies.
**What if reviews or calendar come back empty?** Reviews, the calendar and prices for dated listing URLs come from Airbnb's web API. If Airbnb changes that API, the Actor logs a warning and leaves those fields empty. The core listing data still comes through.
