## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Arbeitnow Jobs Scraper

Arbeitnow Jobs Scraper collects job listings from Arbeitnow, the job board for Germany, Europe and remote work, through its free public API. Filter by keyword, location, remote, visa sponsorship, tags, job type, company and posting date, and get each job's title, company, location, tags, posting date, full description and link. Use it for job alerts, visa-sponsored and remote job boards, and hiring research. No login, API key or browser.

### What you get

One row per matching job, with:

- Title, company, location
- Remote flag (Arbeitnow's own flag, or `true` when the location says "Remote")
- Visa sponsorship flag (see the FAQ)
- Tags and job types as the employer entered them
- Posting date
- Job URL and slug
- Full description as plain text and as HTML, with email addresses replaced by `[email removed]`

### Use cases

- **Job alerts:** schedule a daily run with **Posted after** and send new matches to Slack, email or Google Sheets.
- **Visa-sponsored job boards:** collect jobs in Germany and Europe that offer visa sponsorship or relocation support.
- **Remote job aggregators and newsletters:** pull fresh remote and English-language roles.
- **Recruiting and sales intelligence:** see which companies in Germany are hiring, and for which roles.
- **Labour market research:** track demand by city, tag and job type.
- **Matching and classification models:** feed clean job descriptions into your pipeline.

### How to use

1. Open the Actor in Apify Console.
2. Add **Keywords** (for example `python` or `werkstudent`) and any words to exclude.
3. Set **Locations**, **Tags**, **Job types** and **Companies**, and turn on **Remote jobs only** or **Visa sponsorship only** if you need them. Every filter is optional.
4. Set **Posted after** and **Max jobs**.
5. Click **Start**. Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read them through the Apify API.

### Input example

```json
{
  "keywords": ["engineer", "developer"],
  "excludeKeywords": ["senior"],
  "locations": ["Berlin", "Remote"],
  "remoteOnly": false,
  "visaSponsorship": true,
  "tags": ["Software Engineering"],
  "jobTypes": ["full time"],
  "postedAfter": "2026-09-01",
  "maxItems": 200
}
```

List filters match when any value matches. Keywords search the title, company, tags and description. Exclude keywords check the title and company only. Job type matching ignores spaces and dashes, so `full time` also matches `Full-time` and `fulltime permanent`. Leave everything empty to get the newest jobs on Arbeitnow.

### Output example

```json
{
  "title": "Chemical Engineer (Solid Propellants)",
  "company": "Momentumaerospace",
  "location": "Germany",
  "remote": false,
  "visaSponsorship": true,
  "tags": ["Propulsion"],
  "jobTypes": ["Full Time"],
  "postedAt": "2026-09-29T11:40:02.000Z",
  "url": "https://www.arbeitnow.com/jobs/companies/momentumaerospace/chemical-engineer-solid-propellants-germany-140407",
  "slug": "chemical-engineer-solid-propellants-germany-140407",
  "description": "Chemical Engineer\nWe are looking for a Chemical Engineer to develop and improve the propellants and laboratory capability behind our solid rocket propulsion systems...",
  "descriptionHtml": "<h1>Chemical Engineer</h1><p>We are looking for a Chemical Engineer to develop and improve the ..."
}
```

### Pricing

You pay per job saved to the dataset, and only jobs that match your filters count. Jobs the Actor scans and filters out cost nothing. Set a maximum cost per run in Apify Console, and the Actor stops cleanly when it reaches that limit.

### FAQ

**Is it legal to scrape Arbeitnow?** The Actor uses Arbeitnow's free public job board API, which Arbeitnow offers for this kind of use. It removes email addresses from descriptions. You are responsible for using the data in line with Arbeitnow's terms and the laws that apply to you.

**Do I need an Arbeitnow account, API key or proxy?** No. The API is public and free, so the proxy is off by default. The Actor reads one page at a time to stay gentle on it.

**How many jobs can I get?** Everything the public API lists right now, usually a few thousand recent jobs. **Max API pages to scan** caps the pages read (default 30). Arbeitnow has no historical archive, so older, removed jobs are not available.

**Why do narrow filters take longer?** The public API supports only paging and the visa filter. The Actor applies every other filter itself, so a narrow search may scan several pages to find a few matches. With **Posted after** set, it stops once a whole page is older than your date.

**What does `visaSponsorship` mean in the output?** The API doesn't return a visa flag per job. When you turn on the visa filter, Arbeitnow returns only jobs that offer sponsorship, and the Actor marks them `true`. Otherwise the field is `null` (unknown), not `false`.

**Does it include salary?** Only if the employer wrote it in the description. The API has no salary field.

**Why are job types inconsistent?** Employers type them freely (`Full-time`, `fulltime permanent`, `Werkstudent`). The job type filter uses partial matching to cover these variants.
