## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## UK House Prices – Sold Prices from HM Land Registry

Get **every residential property sale in England and Wales** – price, date, full address, property type, tenure and new-build flag – straight from **HM Land Registry's official Price Paid Data**. Search by postcode, postcode sector, outcode, town, local authority district or street, filter by date, price and property type, and download the results as Excel, CSV or JSON.

No API key, no login, no scraping of property portals. The data is published by HM Land Registry under the Open Government Licence.

Contains HM Land Registry data © Crown copyright and database right 2026. Licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

### Who uses this

- **Property investors and sourcers** – check what really sold on a street before you offer.
- **Estate agents** – build comparables packs and valuation evidence in seconds.
- **Mortgage brokers, surveyors and conveyancers** – quick sold-price checks for a postcode.
- **PropTech and data teams** – feed sold prices into models and dashboards on a schedule.

### What you can search

| Input | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Postcodes | `BS8 1BN`, `BS8 1`, `BS8` | Full postcode, sector or outcode. Each is a separate search. |
| Towns | `BATH` | Post town. |
| Districts | `CITY OF BRISTOL` | Local authority. |
| Street | `WHITELADIES ROAD` | Narrows every search to one street. |
| Sold on or after / before | `2025-01-01` | YYYY-MM-DD. |
| Min / max price | `250000` | Pounds. |
| Property types | detached, semi-detached, terraced, flat, other | |
| New builds only | true/false | |
| Include category B sales | true/false | Repossessions, company buy-to-lets etc. |
| Max results per search | `200` | Newest sales first. |

Example input:

```json
{"postcodes": ["BS8 1"], "towns": ["BATH"], "dateFrom": "2026-01-01", "propertyTypes": ["terraced", "flat"], "maxResults": 50}
```

### Example output (one record)

```json
{
  "transactionId": "5A7B802C-5040-1886-E063-4704A8C021AE",
  "price": 250000,
  "dateSold": "2026-08-05",
  "address": "FLAT 3, CLIFTON HILL LODGE, 5, CLIFTON HILL, BRISTOL, BS8 1BN",
  "street": "CLIFTON HILL",
  "town": "BRISTOL",
  "district": "CITY OF BRISTOL",
  "postcode": "BS8 1BN",
  "outcode": "BS8",
  "propertyType": "flat",
  "newBuild": false,
  "tenure": "leasehold",
  "transactionCategory": "A",
  "search": "postcode:BS8 1",
  "sourceUrl": "http://landregistry.data.gov.uk/data/ppi/transaction/5A7B802C-.../current"
}
```

Each run also saves a **SUMMARY** record in the key-value store with the number of sales and the median, mean, minimum and maximum price for each search:

```json
{"postcode:BS8 1": {"sales": 25, "medianPrice": 345000, "meanPrice": 362079, "minPrice": 135000, "maxPrice": 725000}}
```

### Pricing

Pay only for results: **$2.00 per 1,000 sold-price records** ($0.002 each). No start fee. Set a spending limit on the run and the actor stops cleanly when it is reached.

### Good to know

- Coverage: England and Wales, January 1995 to the latest monthly Land Registry release (usually about 2 months behind; recent sales take time to register).
- Excludes: Scotland and Northern Ireland, most sales not for full market value, and transfers, gifts and right-to-buy sales.
- The Land Registry service limits request rates. The actor waits and retries automatically, so a large search may take a minute or two.
- Very large areas (a whole city across many years) are best split into several postcodes or date ranges.
