## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Play App Search & ASO Rank Tracker

Search Google Play by keyword and country, or request details for specific apps. Use the results for public app-store research and rank tracking.

### Use cases

- Check where selected apps appear across keywords and countries.
- Find apps ranking for a keyword before planning a product.
- Compare public app ratings, install ranges, prices, and update dates.
- Export app data to a spreadsheet, dashboard, or LLM workflow.

### Input

Use `queries` for keyword search, `appIds` for package-name details, and `trackAppIds` to flag your apps in search results. Set `countries` (one search per country), `language`, and `maxResultsPerQuery` (1-30).

### Output

Search results include position, app ID, title, developer, category, rating, install bucket, price, icon, and short summary. Details mode can return rating, rating count and 1-5 star histogram, installs, price, in-app purchases, ads flag, last update, release date, privacy policy, and developer website. Tracked results are marked `tracked: true`. Example: `{"type":"search_result","query":"meditation","position":1,"country":"us","appId":"com.spotlightsix.zentimerlite2","title":"Insight Timer - Meditation App","developer":"Insight Network Inc","category":"Health & Fitness","rating":4.7,"installs":"10,000,000+","priceUsd":0}`

### Pricing and coverage

Pay per result: one search result or one app-details row. Google Play returns about 30 apps per search; set the result limit and use multiple queries or countries for broader coverage. Start with a small run to inspect output and cost.

### Scope

Only public app-store data is collected; reviewer or user data is not collected. Looking for reviews? Use the separate Google Play Reviews Scraper.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Keywords to search in Google Play (apps). Each query returns up to about 30 apps in store order, with their position.

## `appIds` (type: `array`):

Package names (for example com.spotify.music) to get full details: rating histogram, installs, price, last update.

## `trackAppIds` (type: `array`):

Optional. Search results get tracked=true when the app is in this list. Use it to monitor keyword rank (ASO).

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter store countries. Each one is searched separately.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Language code, for example en, es, de.

## `maxResultsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Between 1 and 30.

## `useProxy` (type: `boolean`):

Only used after repeated failures. Proxy traffic is billed by Apify separately.
