## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## ATS Jobs Scraper: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday & SmartRecruiters

Get every open job from the companies you care about, straight from their own applicant tracking system (ATS). Paste a careers page, a domain, a job-board URL or a board slug: the Actor **detects whether the company uses Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday or SmartRecruiters**, reads the ATS's **official public job-board endpoint**, and returns every posting in **one normalized schema** – title, department, locations, remote flag, employment type, posted date, job & apply links, and salary when the company publishes it.

- 🔎 **Greenhouse scraper, Lever jobs, Ashby jobs, Workday jobs scraper and SmartRecruiters** in a single Actor and a single dataset
- 🧭 **ATS auto-detection** from careers pages, domains or plain company names (or force it with `greenhouse:stripe`)
- 🎯 Filters: keywords, exclude words, locations/countries, remote only / no remote, departments, posted since
- 🧾 Same fields for every ATS, ready for CSV/Excel, Google Sheets, Airtable, your ATS or job board
- 💵 **$0.90 per 1,000 jobs**, no start fee. Full descriptions are an optional add-on (+$0.30 per 1,000)
- 🔐 No login, no cookies, no proxies, no personal data – public job postings only

### Who uses it

- **Job boards & aggregators** – pull fresh company postings daily from thousands of career sites
- **Recruiters & talent intelligence** – monitor hiring at target companies, by team and location
- **Sales & hiring-intent prospecting** – see which companies are hiring for roles that signal a need for your product
- **Market & salary research** – compare open roles and published pay ranges across companies

### How to use it

1. Add companies to **Companies**, one per line, in any mix of formats (see table below).
2. Optionally set filters (keywords, locations, remote, departments, posted since).
3. Set **Max jobs** (total) and, for many companies, **Max jobs per company** to spread results.
4. Click **Start**. Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or via the API.

| You paste | Example | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Greenhouse board URL | `https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb` | read directly |
| Lever board URL | `https://jobs.lever.co/spotify` (EU: `jobs.eu.lever.co`) | read directly |
| Ashby board URL | `https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp` | read directly |
| Workday careers URL | `https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite` | read directly |
| SmartRecruiters URL | `https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup` | read directly |
| Careers page or domain | `figma.com`, `https://www.notion.com/careers` | we look for the ATS link on the page, then try the company name on each ATS |
| Name / board slug | `stripe`, `ServiceNow` | tried on Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever and SmartRecruiters; the board with the most jobs wins |
| Forced ATS | `greenhouse:stripe`, `lever:spotify`, `lever-eu:<slug>`, `ashby:ramp`, `sr:ServiceNow` | no guessing |

Workday career sites cannot be guessed from a name (each has its own host and site name), so paste the full `myworkdayjobs.com` URL – or a careers page that links to it.

#### Fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `company`, `companySlug` | Company name and its board slug on the ATS |
| `ats` | `greenhouse`, `lever`, `ashby`, `workday` or `smartrecruiters` |
| `jobId`, `requisitionId` | ATS job ID and requisition/reference number when published |
| `title`, `department`, `team` | As published by the company (Workday boards don't publish departments) |
| `location`, `locations`, `country` | Primary location, all locations, ISO country code (best effort) |
| `remote`, `workplaceType` | `remote` is true when the job is remote or offers a remote location option; `workplaceType` is `remote`/`hybrid`/`onsite` when the ATS says so |
| `employmentType` | Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Internship… when published |
| `postedAt`, `updatedAt`, `postedAtText` | Posted / first-published date (ISO); Greenhouse also gives last update; Workday's original "Posted 3 Days Ago" text is kept |
| `jobUrl`, `applyUrl` | Public job page and apply link |
| `salary` | `{min, max, currency, interval, text}` when the company publishes pay (common on Ashby and Lever, e.g. US pay-transparency roles), otherwise `null` |
| `description` / `descriptionHtml` | Full description, only with the add-on |
| `boardUrl`, `sourceInput`, `scrapedAt` | Where the job came from and when |

Every run also writes a **run summary** to the `OUTPUT` record of the key-value store: for each company the detected ATS, how it was detected, open jobs on the board, jobs matched and saved, and a clear error if a company couldn't be read.

### Reliability

Reliability is the main design goal of this Actor:

- **Official public endpoints only** (Greenhouse Job Board API, Lever Postings API, Ashby Posting API, Workday career-site JSON, SmartRecruiters Posting API) – no HTML scraping of job lists, no browser, nothing to break when a careers page is redesigned.
- **Retries with exponential backoff** on timeouts, network errors, HTTP 429 and 5xx (honouring `Retry-After`).
- **Per-company isolation** – a wrong URL or a company that left its ATS is reported in `OUTPUT` and the status message, and the other companies are still scraped. The run only fails when **every** input fails, and then nothing is charged.
- **Deduplication** by ATS + job ID (and job URL), also when two inputs point to the same board.

### Pricing

Pay per event, no start fee:

| Event | Price | When |
|---|---|---|
| `job` | $0.0009 ($0.90 / 1,000 jobs) | each job saved to the dataset |
| `job-details` | $0.0003 ($0.30 / 1,000 jobs) | only with "Include full job description", per job that actually has a description |

Filters are applied before saving, so you only pay for jobs that match. Typical costs: 1,000 matching jobs ≈ $0.90; 1,000 jobs with full descriptions ≈ $1.20. Platform usage is small because the Actor only calls JSON endpoints.

### How it compares

Prices as listed on Apify Store on 2026-10-20 (free-tier list price; check each Store page for current details). Other Actors offer features this one doesn't (e.g. more ATSs or company discovery), so pick what fits your use case.

| Actor | ATSs | Listed price |
|---|---|---|
| **This Actor** | Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, SmartRecruiters | $0.90 / 1k jobs, no start fee |
| bovi/greenhouse-lever-ashby-job-scraper | Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Recruitee, SmartRecruiters, Personio | $1.50 / 1k jobs |
| fantastic-jobs Greenhouse / Workday / Ashby / Lever APIs | one ATS per Actor | $2.00–2.50 / 1k jobs |
| memo23/career-site-ats-jobs-api | 100+ ATSs | $4.00 / 1k + $0.03 per run |
| glitchbound/workday-jobs-scraper | Workday (+ others by name) | $2.00 / 1k |
| johnvc/ashby-job-board-scraper | Ashby | $0.50 / 1k (+ optional add-ons) |

### FAQ

**Is it legal to scrape job postings?** This Actor reads job postings that companies publish publicly through their ATS's public job-board endpoints – the same data shown on their careers pages. It does not log in and does not collect personal data about candidates or employees. You are responsible for using the data in line with the terms of the sites and the laws that apply to you (e.g. GDPR).

**Why was a company "not found"?** Its careers page may use an ATS this Actor doesn't support (e.g. iCIMS, Taleo, SuccessFactors, Workable), load its job widget with JavaScript only, or use a board slug that differs from its name. Paste the job-board URL itself (open any job on their careers site and copy the link) or use `ats:slug`.

**How fresh is the data?** Live – every run asks the ATS at run time. Schedule the Actor (e.g. daily) and use `postedSince: "1 day"` for a new-jobs feed.

**Can I get salaries?** Yes when the company publishes them through the ATS (often Ashby and Lever; Greenhouse when the company adds a pay field). Salaries are never estimated.

**Workday says "30+ days ago" – what is `postedAt`?** For each Workday job we load the job page JSON, which contains the exact posting date. If that request fails after retries, `postedAt` is computed from the relative text ("Today", "3 Days Ago"), or left empty for "30+ Days Ago"; the original text is kept in `postedAtText`.

**How many companies per run?** Up to 500 inputs per run. Large Workday boards are paged 20 jobs at a time, so use filters and `maxItemsPerCompany` for big employers.

**Can I use it via API, Make, Zapier or n8n?** Yes – like any Apify Actor. Results are available as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or RSS from the dataset API.

Found a board that doesn't work? Open an issue on the Actor's Issues tab with the URL and we'll take a look.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

One company per line, in any mix of formats:<br>• a job-board URL: <code>https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb</code>, <code>https://jobs.lever.co/spotify</code>, <code>https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp</code>, <code>https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite</code>, <code>https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup</code><br>• a company careers page or domain: <code>figma.com</code>, <code>https://www.notion.com/careers</code> (we look for the ATS link on the page, then try the name on each ATS)<br>• a board slug or name: <code>stripe</code>, or force the ATS with <code>greenhouse:stripe</code>, <code>lever:spotify</code>, <code>ashby:ramp</code>, <code>sr:ServiceNow</code>, <code>lever-eu:\<slug></code>.<br>Workday always needs the full myworkdayjobs.com URL.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title, department or team contains ANY of these words or phrases (case-insensitive, matches word starts: "engineer" matches "Engineering"). Empty = all jobs.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these, e.g. <code>intern</code>, <code>senior</code>.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose location text or country contains ANY of these, e.g. <code>London</code>, <code>Germany</code>, <code>United States</code>, <code>Remote</code>. Country names also match the country code.

## `remote` (type: `string`):

"Remote" = the posting is remote or offers a remote location option.

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose department or team contains ANY of these, e.g. <code>Engineering</code>, <code>Sales</code>. Workday boards don't publish departments, so this filter removes Workday jobs.

## `postedSince` (type: `string`):

Only jobs posted (or first published) after this point. Use a date like <code>2026-10-01</code> or a relative period like <code>24 hours</code>, <code>7 days</code>, <code>2 weeks</code>. Empty = any time.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the full description to each job. Charged as one extra 'job-details' event only for jobs where a description was actually returned.

## `descriptionFormat` (type: `string`):

Used only when the full description is included.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after saving this many jobs in total. You pay only for jobs saved.

## `maxItemsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

0 = no per-company limit. Set it to spread results across all companies when Max jobs is small.
