## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Whatmobile Scraper — Pakistan Mobile Prices API

Scrapes **[WhatMobile.com.pk](https://www.whatmobile.com.pk)** — Pakistan’s daily-updated smartphone price & specs directory — into clean JSON on Apify.

**Store:** https://apify.com/umararshad2/whatmobile-scraper

### Why this Actor

There was **no dedicated WhatMobile Store Actor** when we checked (unlike crowded Daraz / Zameen niches). If you need **Pakistan mobile prices in PKR**, brand price lists, and structured specs for market research, retail pricing, or comparison apps — this is built for that.

### What it scrapes

1. **Brand price lists** — e.g. `/Samsung_Mobiles_Prices`, `/Xiaomi_Mobiles_Prices`, `/Infinix_Mobiles_Prices`
2. **Category lists** — e.g. `Price-List-Of-All-5G_Mobile-Phones` (via `searchUrls`)
3. **Product detail pages** — name, **PKR price**, image, OS, RAM/storage, display, chipset, cameras, battery, network bands, colors, and full specs map

Uses **Crawlee CheerioCrawler** (SSR HTML, no browser for the happy path). Defaults to **Apify RESIDENTIAL proxy (Pakistan)**.

### Pricing (PPE)

**$1.20 / 1,000 products** via custom event `product-scraped` ($0.0012 each), plus a small `apify-actor-start`. No usage pass-through. Do **not** enable synthetic `apify-default-dataset-item` alongside `product-scraped` (avoids double billing). Memory: **512–2048 MB** (default 1024).

### Example input

```json
{
  "brands": ["Samsung", "Xiaomi", "Infinix"],
  "maxProducts": 100,
  "includeSpecs": true,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": ["RESIDENTIAL"],
    "apifyProxyCountry": "PK"
  }
}
```

Direct product URLs:

```json
{
  "productUrls": [
    "https://www.whatmobile.com.pk/Samsung_Galaxy-A27",
    "https://www.whatmobile.com.pk/Xiaomi_Redmi-Note-14"
  ],
  "maxProducts": 10
}
```

### Proxy notes

WhatMobile is publicly scrapable SSR HTML, but datacenter IPs can still be flaky. **Residential proxies with country `PK`** are the default and recommended for production runs.

# Actor input Schema

## `brands` (type: `array`):

Brand names to scrape via WhatMobile price-list pages (e.g. Samsung → /Samsung\_Mobiles\_Prices). Leave empty to use the default top Pakistan brands (Samsung, Xiaomi, Infinix, Vivo, Tecno) unless searchUrls/productUrls are set.

## `searchUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional WhatMobile URLs: brand price lists (/Samsung\_Mobiles\_Prices), category lists (Price-List-Of-All-5G\_Mobile-Phones), or direct product pages (/Samsung\_Galaxy-A27). Mixed lists are OK.

## `productUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional list of specific phone detail pages to scrape (skips listing discovery for these).

## `maxProducts` (type: `integer`):

Hard cap on products written to the dataset (after dedupe). Default 100, maximum 5000.

## `includeSpecs` (type: `boolean`):

When true, attach the full WhatMobile specs table as a key/value object (OS, Chipset, Display, Camera, Battery, …). Flat highlight fields are always filled when available.

## `useMockData` (type: `boolean`):

Force fixture mode (no live WhatMobile calls). Useful for local CI. Auto-fallback also engages if the live site blocks.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy settings. Default uses RESIDENTIAL in Pakistan (PK) for reliable access to WhatMobile.com.pk.
