## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Company Hiring Signals: who is hiring, for what, and where

Give it a list of companies and get **one row per company** with what its own careers page says: how many jobs are
open, how many are new, which teams and countries are hiring, salary ranges, and whether it's hiring for **the
roles you care about**.

A company hiring is a buying signal. If it's hiring 30 data engineers, it's investing in data. Use it to:

- **Prioritize sales prospects:** find the accounts hiring for the teams you sell to (`roleKeywords: ["data engineer", "security"]`).
- **Time your outreach:** schedule it weekly and watch `newJobsSinceLastRun` and `openJobsChange` jump.
- **Research markets and competitors:** see where they're expanding (top countries and locations), their remote
  policy and what they pay.
- **Investors and analysts:** track hiring velocity across a portfolio or watchlist.

### What you get per company

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `openJobs` | Open jobs right now |
| `jobsPostedLast7Days` / `jobsPostedLast30Days` | Hiring velocity, from publish dates |
| `newJobsSinceLastRun` / `closedJobsSinceLastRun` / `openJobsChange` | What changed since your previous run (per company) |
| `topDepartments` / `topLocations` / `topCountries` | Where the hiring is happening |
| `remoteShare`, `workplaceMix` | Remote, hybrid and onsite mix |
| `salary` | Jobs with salary, median yearly USD, USD range, example ranges |
| `keywordMatches`, `matchesAnyKeyword` | Jobs that match each of your role keywords, with sample titles |
| `topTitles` | The most common job titles |
| `ats`, `careersUrl` | Which ATS the company uses, and its careers page |

Supported ATS: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday (found by name through a built-in directory), SmartRecruiters,
Workable, Recruitee, Personio, Breezy HR and BambooHR. Type a company **name**, **website** or **careers link**.

### Example (real row from 28-Oct-2026, shortened)

```json
{
  "company": "Notion",
  "ats": "ashby",
  "careersUrl": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/notion",
  "openJobs": 139,
  "jobsPostedLast7Days": 9,
  "jobsPostedLast30Days": 36,
  "remoteShare": 0.63,
  "topDepartments": [
    {
      "name": "Sales",
      "jobs": 48
    },
    {
      "name": "People",
      "jobs": 17
    },
    {
      "name": "Outcomes Architect",
      "jobs": 15
    }
  ],
  "topCountries": [
    {
      "name": "United States",
      "jobs": 75
    },
    {
      "name": "Ireland",
      "jobs": 21
    },
    {
      "name": "Japan",
      "jobs": 20
    }
  ],
  "salary": {
    "jobsWithSalary": 97,
    "medianYearlyUSD": 207750,
    "yearlyUSDRange": [
      90000,
      350000
    ],
    "examples": [
      {
        "title": "Software Engineer, AI Connections (Developer Platform)",
        "salary": "$272,000 – $304,000"
      }
    ]
  },
  "keywordMatches": {
    "sales": {
      "jobs": 51,
      "titles": [
      ]
    }
  },
  "matchesAnyKeyword": true,
  "newJobsSinceLastRun": null
}
```

`newJobsSinceLastRun` is `null` on the first run for a company, and gets filled in from the second run on.

### Pricing

Pay per company analyzed. See the **Pricing** tab. Companies that aren't found cost nothing. They're listed in the
run's **SUMMARY** record so you can fix the input (for example, by pasting the careers link).

### Need the jobs themselves?

Use our [Company Jobs Scraper](https://apify.com/umbrella_data/company-jobs-any-ats). It returns one row per job,
in the same format for every ATS.

**Data source:** the public job board feeds that companies publish on their own careers pages. No login and no
personal data.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

One per line: a name (Stripe, Walmart), a website (notion.so), a careers or ATS link, or ats:slug. The ATS is detected automatically (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Recruitee, Personio, Breezy, BambooHR).

## `roleKeywords` (type: `array`):

Count and list the open jobs whose title, department or team contains each word, for example data engineer, sales, security. Use it to find companies hiring for what you sell.

## `salaryFromDescriptions` (type: `boolean`):

More salary data. On Workday, SmartRecruiters and BambooHR it needs one extra request per job, so runs are slower.

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Very large employers can have thousands of jobs. The counts use up to this many.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "companies": [
    "stripe.com",
    "notion",
    "walmart",
    "airbnb"
  ],
  "salaryFromDescriptions": true,
  "maxJobsPerCompany": 1000
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `summary` (type: `string`):
