## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Blinkit Category Scraper do?

Blinkit Category Scraper collects the products listed in Blinkit category pages for the delivery locations you choose, with name, brand, pack size, selling price, MRP, discount and stock for each.

Paste one or more category page URLs, add pincodes or cities, and the actor scrapes every category at every location in one run. Each row carries the category and location it came from.

Typical uses:

- follow the prices and assortment of a whole shelf, such as milk, atta or energy drinks
- compare a category's range and prices between cities
- see which brands Blinkit lists in a category at a given location
- build a category-level Blinkit dataset for analysis

### What data does it return?

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `name`, `brand`, `variant` | Product name, brand and pack size |
| `price`, `mrp`, `discount_text` | Selling price and MRP in rupees, and Blinkit's discount label |
| `inventory` | The stock figure Blinkit reports for the serving store; it can be missing |
| `product_id`, `product_url`, `image_url` | Blinkit product ID, product page and image |
| `rank` | Position of the product in this category response |
| `category_id`, `subcategory_id` | The category pair from the URL |
| `merchant_id`, `merchant_type` | The Blinkit store that serves the location |
| `input_category_url`, `input_pincode`, `input_city` | The category and location the row came from |

### How to scrape a Blinkit category

1. Open a category on blinkit.com and copy its URL. It ends in `/cid/<category>/<subcategory>`, for example `https://blinkit.com/cn/milk/cid/14/922`. You can also enter the two numbers as `14/922`.
2. Add pincodes, pick cities, or both.
3. Set **Results per category** (1 to 100, default 20).
4. Click **Start**, then download the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read it through the Apify API.

### Input example

```json
{
  "categoryUrls": ["https://blinkit.com/cn/milk/cid/14/922"],
  "pincodes": ["560102"],
  "cities": ["Pune"],
  "maxResults": 50
}
```

This scrapes 1 category × 2 locations = 2 category pages in one run.

### Output example

```json
{
  "input_category_url": "https://blinkit.com/cn/milk/cid/14/922",
  "input_pincode": "560102",
  "category_id": 14,
  "subcategory_id": "922",
  "rank": 1,
  "name": "Arokya Full Cream Milk",
  "brand": "Arokya",
  "variant": "500 ml",
  "price": 41,
  "mrp": 41,
  "inventory": 4,
  "product_id": 163703,
  "product_url": "https://blinkit.com/prn/arokya-full-cream-milk/prid/163703",
  "image_url": "https://cdn.grofers.com/da/cms-assets/cms/product/14116e92-4c91-48a6-b73d-f53c1ee618da.png",
  "merchant_id": "40589",
  "merchant_type": "express"
}
```

### How much does it cost?

$0.003 per run plus $0.00149 per product, which is $1.49 per 1,000 products. There is no separate charge for Apify compute.

- One category, 100 products: $0.15
- 5 categories × 2 cities × 50 products (500 rows): $0.75

A category that fails adds no rows and is not charged. You can cap the cost of a run with Apify's maximum charge setting; the actor stops when it is reached.

### Locations: pincodes and cities

A pincode resolves to one point inside it, and Blinkit's prices and stock come from the store serving that point. Each city in the list uses one central pincode that Blinkit serves:

| City | Pincode | City | Pincode |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delhi | 110001 | Ahmedabad | 380015 |
| Mumbai | 400050 | Gurugram | 122002 |
| Bengaluru | 560001 | Noida | 201301 |
| Hyderabad | 500081 | Jaipur | 302001 |
| Chennai | 600017 | Lucknow | 226010 |
| Kolkata | 700019 | Chandigarh | 160017 |
| Pune | 411001 | Indore | 452001 |

### FAQ

#### Is this an official Blinkit API?

No. It is an independent tool that reads the product information Blinkit shows publicly to any visitor for a delivery location. It needs no Blinkit account, login, cookies or proxies.

#### Which URLs work?

Blinkit category pages whose address ends in `/cid/<category>/<subcategory>`. Top-deal subcategories can end in `_td`, which is also accepted. Search pages and product pages belong to the other Blinkit scrapers above.

#### How many products does a category return?

Up to 100 per category and location. The actor reads further pages of the category to reach the number you ask for; a smaller category returns what it has.

#### Can I use it as a Blinkit category API?

Yes. Call it from any language through the Apify API, schedule it in Apify for daily shelf tracking, or use Apify's integrations.

# Actor input Schema

## `categoryUrls` (type: `array`):

Blinkit category pages ending in /cid/<category>/<subcategory>, for example https://blinkit.com/cn/milk/cid/14/922, or the two IDs as 14/922.

## `pincodes` (type: `array`):

Six-digit Indian delivery pincodes. Each resolves to one point in that pincode, so nearby stores and prices can differ within it.

## `cities` (type: `array`):

Or pick cities. Each uses one central pincode Blinkit serves (listed in the README); use Pincodes for exact areas.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Products to return for each category and location, 1 to 100.

## `maxWaitSeconds` (type: `integer`):

How long to wait for each scrape before counting it as failed.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "categoryUrls": [
    "https://blinkit.com/cn/milk/cid/14/922"
  ],
  "pincodes": [
    "560102"
  ],
  "maxResults": 20,
  "maxWaitSeconds": 300
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per result, each tagged with the input it came from (input\_\* fields).

## `failures` (type: `string`):

Jobs that failed and were not charged, with the reason. Present only when a job failed.
