## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Reviews Monitor: iOS Reviews, Ratings & New Review Alerts

Get the latest **App Store reviews for any iOS app in any country**, with stars, title, text, app version and date, plus the app's overall rating, and **only the new reviews since your last run** for alerts.

Uses Apple's own public review feeds: fast, stable, and no login or proxies.

### What you get

- **Reviews**: `rating`, `title`, `text`, `version`, `date`, `voteSum`, `voteCount`, `reviewId`, `userName`
- **App context on each review**: `appName`, `appRating`, `appRatingCount`
- **App summary** (key-value store `APPS`): developer, genre, current version and release date, price, rating and rating count per country
- **Change tracking**: `NEW`, or `CHANGED` when a reviewer edits their review (before→after in `changes`)

### Use it as an alert

1. Run once with your apps and countries. This is the baseline.
2. Switch **Output** to *Only new or edited reviews since last run*.
3. Schedule it (hourly or daily) and connect it to Slack, email, Zendesk, Sheets, Zapier or Make.
4. Set **Maximum stars** to 2 to get only complaints, or watch competitors' apps the same way.

### Who uses it

- **Mobile teams and support** catching bugs and angry users right after a release
- **Product managers** tracking sentiment per version
- **Competitor research and ASO**: what users love and hate about rival apps
- **AI pipelines** that summarize or classify reviews

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Review returned | $0.10 per 1,000 |
| Review checked with no change (*changes* mode only) | $0.05 per 1,000 |
| Run start | $0.001 |

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `apps` | App Store URLs or numeric ids |
| `countries` | e.g. `us`, `gb`, `de`, `jp` (default `us`) |
| `outputMode` | `all` (default) or `changes` |
| `maxReviewsPerAppCountry` | Up to 500 (Apple's feed limit, most recent first) |
| `minRating` / `maxRating` | Star filter |
| `resetState` | Start a new baseline |

### Notes

- Apple's public feed returns the **500 most recent reviews per country**. For complete history, run on a schedule. The monitor accumulates every new review from then on.
- An invalid app id is reported in `RUN_SUMMARY` and the other apps still run.
