## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Skool Communities Scraper

Find Skool communities by keyword or category, or look up any community by link, and get clean rows: members, price, billing period, rating, reviews, and (optionally) courses, posts, online members and membership tiers.

### What it does

- Searches Skool discovery by keyword and category: up to 1,000 communities per search, in Skool’s own ranking order.
- Looks up any community from its link or name.
- Gives price as a number with currency and billing period, so free and paid communities are easy to compare.
- Optional full details: about text, courses, modules, posts, online members, admins, rules, affiliate percent and tiers.
- Filters by free or paid and by minimum members.
- Never outputs owner details or member reviews.

**Why this one:** Search and category lists up to 1,000 communities each, price as a number with currency and billing period, and optional course, post and tier details, at a lower price than the leader.

In our last check, 20 runs over varied inputs succeeded 100% of the time.

### Use cases

- Finding communities to join, partner with or advertise in
- Pricing your own Skool community against others in your niche
- Tracking the fastest-growing communities in a category
- Building lead lists of community brands (not people)

### Input example

```json
{
  "searchTerms": [
    "fitness"
  ],
  "maxItems": 35
}
```

- searchTerms: keywords for Skool discovery (up to 1,000 communities each)
- categories: Skool category names
- communities: community links or names to look up directly
- includeDetails: also open each about page
- priceType: any, free or paid
- minMembers: skip smaller communities
- maxItems: stop after this many

**Fields:**

- name, url, displayName, description, members, rating, reviews, isFree, price, currency, billingInterval, logoUrl, coverUrl, createdAt, updatedAt, rank, searchTerm, category
- With details: about, courses, modules, posts, onlineMembers, admins, rules, affiliatePercent, hasClassroom, hasCalendar, hasMap, tiers

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$3.00 per 1,000 results**. You pay only for results you get; Apify platform costs are included. Set a maximum charge for a run and the Actor stops cleanly when it's reached, keeping everything collected so far.

### Tips

- Leave full details off for big lists; turn it on when you need courses, posts or tiers.
- Schedule a daily run with the same searches to track member growth over time.

### FAQ

**Do I need an account on Skool?** No. It only reads public pages and data.

**Does it get posts, members or classroom content?** No. It reads only what Skool shows logged-out visitors: discovery listings and each community’s about page.

**Why did a link fail?** Private or deleted communities redirect to Skool’s sign-up page. They are listed in FAILED_URLS and not charged.
**Something broke or a field is missing?** Open an issue on the Issues tab and include your run link. We fix scrapers quickly when sites change.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Keywords to search Skool's discovery page, like "fitness" or "real estate". Each search returns up to 1,000 communities. Leave empty (with no communities below) to browse all of discovery.

## `categories` (type: `array`):

Limit to Skool categories: hobbies, music, money, spirituality, tech, health, sports, self_improvement, relationships. Combines with search terms.

## `communities` (type: `array`):

Skool community links or names (like https://www.skool.com/games or games) to look up directly. These always include full details.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Also open each community's about page for courses, modules, posts, online members, admins, tiers and the full about text. Slower: one extra page per community.
