## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Ashby Jobs Scraper do?

This Actor gets **every open job from any Ashby job board**, live from the source. Ashby powers the career pages of OpenAI, Notion, Ramp, Linear and many fast-growing start-ups. Enter board names or URLs and get **one clean row per job**:

- title, department, team, all locations, city, country and ISO country code
- **salary range** (min, max, currency, period) as numbers
- **workplace type**: remote, hybrid or on-site
- employment type, seniority, publish date, language, job URL and apply URL
- the full job description as plain text

No proxies and no browser: the Actor reads Ashby's public job board feed, so runs are fast, cheap and reliable.

### Why use this Ashby jobs scraper?

- **Live data**: jobs come straight from Ashby at run time, no indexing delay and no expired postings.
- **Any board you choose**: your target accounts, competitors or a list of hand-picked employers. No minimum number of jobs per run.
- **Clean, normalized fields**: salary ranges as numbers, country codes, remote/hybrid/on-site, seniority. Ready for a spreadsheet, a job board or your CRM.
- **New and closed jobs**: with *Only new jobs since the last run*, a daily schedule delivers only new jobs and flags closed ones. You pay only for new jobs; closed-job rows are free.
- **Hiring signals**: the summary shows open jobs, top departments, countries, remote share and salary share per company.
- **Pay per job**: boards that can't be found or loaded cost nothing.

### Which input does it accept?

One Ashby board per line:

- a board name: `openai`
- a board URL: `https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai`
- a job URL from the board
- a company domain: `openai.com` (works when the board uses the company name)

The Actor removes duplicates (the same board entered twice is loaded once). If you paste a URL of another ATS, you get a free row with a hint which scraper to use. To find the job board from a company website automatically, for any of 8 ATS, use the **Career Page Jobs Scraper** by veedel_digital.

### How to scrape Ashby jobs

1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Paste Ashby board names or URLs into **Ashby job boards**, one per line.
3. Optional: set filters, e.g. title contains `sales`, location `DE`, workplace `remote`, only jobs with salary.
4. Click **Start**.
5. Open the **Jobs** table, or download everything as JSON, CSV or Excel. The **Hiring summary** shows the numbers per board.

To monitor companies, enable **Only new jobs since the last run** and create a **Schedule** (e.g. daily). Connect it to Slack, Google Sheets or your CRM via **Integrations**.

### How much does it cost?

This Actor uses **pay per event**: you pay **per job delivered** after your filters, and **platform usage is included**. The current price is shown in the **Pricing** tab. Boards that can't be found or loaded, closed-job rows and errors are free. With monitoring you pay only for new jobs. Set a **maximum cost per run** and the Actor stops exactly at that limit.

### Salary and remote data

Ashby has structured compensation data, which the Actor returns as numbers (`source: "ats"`). If a company does not publish it there, the Actor looks for a pay range in the job description (`source: "text"`). In our tests, 79% of all tested Ashby jobs had a salary.

Ashby has a structured workplace field (remote, hybrid, on-site), which the Actor returns as `workplace`.

### Input

See the **Input** tab for all options.

```json
{
    "boards": ["notion", "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/linear"],
    "titleKeywords": ["data", "engineer*"],
    "locations": ["US", "DE"],
    "workplace": ["remote", "hybrid"],
    "onlyWithSalary": false,
    "postedWithinDays": 30,
    "onlyNewSinceLastRun": false,
    "includeDescription": true
}
```

**Title keywords** match whole words: `java` finds "Java Developer", but not "JavaScript Developer". Add `*` for word starts: `engineer*` also finds "Engineering Manager".

### Output

You can download the dataset in various formats such as JSON, HTML, CSV, or Excel.

```json
{
    "recordType": "job",
    "boardInput": "notion",
    "atsBoardUrl": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/notion",
    "id": "ashby:notion:1fc309c8-da20-4ff2-84c7-8b863ece2b0a",
    "ats": "ashby",
    "company": "Notion",
    "title": "Software Engineer, Developer Platform",
    "department": "Engineering",
    "locations": ["San Francisco, California", "New York, New York"],
    "city": "San Francisco",
    "country": "United States",
    "countryCode": "US",
    "workplace": "hybrid",
    "salary": {
        "min": 213000,
        "max": 320000,
        "currency": "USD",
        "period": "year",
        "source": "text"
    },
    "publishedAt": "2026-08-24T14:44:49.699Z",
    "jobUrl": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/notion/1fc309c8-da20-4ff2-84c7-8b863ece2b0a",
    "employmentType": "full-time",
    "isNew": null
}
```

Rows with `recordType: "closed-job"` (monitoring) and `recordType: "board-error"` (board not found or not reachable) are free. The **Hiring summary** (key-value store record `SUMMARY`) lists per board: company, open jobs, matching jobs, delivered, new and closed jobs, top departments, top countries, remote share and salary share.

### FAQ

#### Are unlisted jobs included?

No. Ashby lets companies hide jobs from the public board. The Actor returns only jobs that are listed publicly.

#### Is scraping Ashby job boards legal?

The Actor only reads public job postings that companies publish to attract applicants, through Ashby's public job board feed. Job postings contain no personal data apart from occasional recruiter names in the description.

#### Something does not work

Please open an issue in the **Issues** tab with the board and the run ID. You can also start the Actor programmatically from the **API** tab.

# Actor input Schema

## `boards` (type: `array`):

One per line: an Ashby board name (openai), a board URL (https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai) or a job URL. A company domain (openai.com) also works if the board uses the company name.

## `titleKeywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title contains at least one of these words, e.g. "data", "sales", "werkstudent". Whole words: "java" does not match "JavaScript". Add \* for word starts: "engineer\*" also matches "Engineering". Empty = all jobs.

## `excludeTitleKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words, e.g. "intern", "praktikum".

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs in any of these places. Use a country code (DE, US), a country (Germany) or a city (Berlin). Empty = worldwide.

## `workplace` (type: `array`):

Keep only remote, hybrid or on-site jobs. Jobs where the ATS gives no workplace type are dropped when this filter is set.

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose department or team contains one of these words, e.g. "engineering", "sales".

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep jobs published in the last N days. 0 = any date. Jobs without a publish date are dropped when this is set.

## `onlyWithSalary` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs with a salary range (from the ATS or found in the job description).

## `onlyNewSinceLastRun` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers which jobs it has seen for this board list and these filters. The first run returns all jobs, every later run only new ones, so you pay only for new jobs. Perfect for a daily schedule.

## `reportClosedJobs` (type: `boolean`):

With "Only new jobs" enabled: also add a free row for every job that disappeared since the last run (recordType "closed-job").

## `stateKey` (type: `string`):

Name for the saved state, e.g. "sales-leads-dach". Leave empty to derive it from the board list and filters. Use the same name in several tasks to share one state.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Full job description as plain text. Turn off for smaller, faster results; salary detection still uses the description.

## `mergeDuplicates` (type: `boolean`):

Many companies post one role once per city. Merge them into one row with all locations (duplicateIds lists the merged job IDs).

## `maxJobsPerBoard` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many matching jobs per board. 0 = no limit.
