## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Website Lead Enricher do?

This Actor **turns a list of domains into company profiles**. Give it websites or bare domains and get **one row per company** with:

- **Company data from the imprint** (Impressum): company name, legal form, street, postal code, city, country, **managing directors**, **trade register** (HRB/HRA, Austrian FN, Swiss CH number), register court and **VAT ID**
- **Contacts**: all emails (sorted, with type *role* like info@ or *personal* like name@), phone numbers, social profiles (LinkedIn, XING, Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, GitHub, Pinterest)
- **Tech stack**: CMS, shop system, analytics, ad pixels, marketing and chat tools, consent manager (150+ technologies)
- **Email setup**: mail provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, IONOS, STRATO, …), SPF, DMARC, email security score, domain age
- **Hiring signals**: careers page and the applicant tracking system behind it (Personio, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, SmartRecruiters, softgarden, …)
- a **completeness score** so you can sort and filter your leads

It reads up to 6 pages per domain (homepage, imprint, contact, careers, about). No proxies, no browser, so runs are fast and cheap.

### Why use this lead enrichment tool?

- **Sales and lead generation**: you have a list of domains (from a trade fair, Google Maps, a CRM export) and need the legal company name, address, decision makers and a contact email
- **Built for Germany, Austria and Switzerland**: the imprint parser knows German, Austrian and Swiss formats (GmbH & Co. KG, e.K., FN 123456a, CHE-123.456.789 MWST, "AG Hamburg HRB …", "Vertretungsberechtigt ist der Vorstand: …")
- **Qualify leads**: which CMS or shop does the company use, does it run ads, does it use Microsoft 365, is it hiring?
- **Clean CRM data**: fill missing VAT IDs, register numbers and addresses
- **Fair billing**: unreachable websites, bot-protected pages, parked domains and duplicates are **not charged**

### What does it find?

| Field | Source |
|---|---|
| `companyName`, `legalForm` | Imprint, else JSON-LD (`legalName`/`name`), `og:site_name` or page title. `companyNameSource` tells you which |
| `street`, `postalCode`, `city`, `country` | Imprint, else JSON-LD address. Country from VAT ID, JSON-LD, domain ending or address |
| `managingDirectors` | Imprint (Geschäftsführer, Inhaber, Vorstand, vertreten durch, …) |
| `registerCourt`, `registerNumber`, `vatId` | Imprint: HRB/HRA/VR, FN (AT), CH-… (CH), USt-IdNr./ATU/CHE and other EU VAT formats |
| `primaryEmail`, `emails` | mailto links and page text (obfuscation like `[at]` decoded). Own domain first, info@/contact@ before personal, newsletter/privacy/jobs addresses last |
| `primaryPhone`, `phones` | tel links and labelled numbers, normalized |
| `cms`, `shopSystem`, `analytics`, `advertising`, `marketingAndChat`, `consentManager`, `technologies` | HTML, scripts, headers and cookies of the homepage |
| `mxProvider`, `spf`, `dmarcPolicy`, `emailSecurityScore` | DNS |
| `domainCreatedAt`, `domainAgeYears`, `registrar` | RDAP (not published for .de) |
| `hiring`, `careersPageUrl`, `atsProvider`, `atsUrl` | Links, iframes and scripts on the homepage and careers page |
| `completeness` | 0–100: name 15, address 15, email 20, phone 15, register/VAT 10, directors 10, social 5, CMS 5, mail provider 5 |

Fields that can't be found reliably stay `null`. The Actor does not guess.

### How to enrich a list of domains

1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Paste your domains or URLs into **Websites or domains**, one per line.
3. Click **Start**.
4. Open the **Overview**, **Contacts & legal**, **Technology & email** or **Hiring signals** view, or download everything as CSV, Excel or JSON.

### How much does it cost?

This Actor uses **pay per event**: a fixed price **per enriched domain**, and **platform usage is included**. The current price is shown in the **Pricing** tab. One price covers all pages, DNS and RDAP lookups for that domain. Not charged: invalid input, duplicates, websites that can't be loaded, bot protection pages, JavaScript-only pages without readable content and parked domains.

### FAQ

#### Does it work with JavaScript-rendered websites?

It reads the HTML the server delivers. Websites that show nothing without JavaScript are reported with an error and not charged. Data in JSON-LD is used even if the visible page is rendered by JavaScript.

#### Is this GDPR compliant?

The Actor only reads information companies publish themselves, mostly because the law requires it (imprint). Personal data like names of managing directors and personal email addresses can still be personal data under GDPR. Make sure you have a legal basis before you use them, for example for B2B outreach.

#### Will it overload websites?

No. It loads at most 6 pages per domain by default, follows `robots.txt` and uses at most 10 parallel requests across all domains.

#### Something does not work

Please open an issue in the **Issues** tab with the domain and the run ID. You can also start the Actor programmatically from the **API** tab.
