## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Greece Company Registry (GEMI) Publicity Fresh Data

> Independent tool, not affiliated with the Greek General Commercial Registry (ΓΕΜΗ).

Extract **official Greek company registry data from the GEMI (ΓΕΜΗ) publicity registry**. Search companies by name, or look up directly by GEMI number (arGemi) or VAT number (AFM). Get company name, distinct title, VAT, status and record type from the state registry. Keyless official source — no scraping of login flows, no API key.

### Why GEMI Publicity Data?

- ✅ **Verify Greek counterparties** — confirm registry status straight from the official ΓΕΜΗ publicity registry.
- 🔢 **Three lookup paths** — name search, GEMI number (arGemi), or VAT number (AFM).
- 🇬🇷 **Greek and Latin names both work** — search `ΔΕΗ` or `vodafone` alike.
- 📋 **Compliance-ready output** — flat, one-record-per-company JSON for KYC automation.

### Use cases

KYC/counterparty verification in Greece · VAT-to-registry matching · supplier and debtor checks · market mapping by company name

### What data you get?

| 🏷️ Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| 🆔 arGemi | GEMI registration number |
| 🏢 coName | Full company name |
| 🏷️ title | Distinct title |
| 🧾 afm | VAT number (AFM) |
| ✅ companyStatus | Registry status |
| 🔢 companyStatusId | Status identifier |
| 📄 type | Record type |
| 🔍 queryTerm | Term that produced this record |

### How to use

1. Add the actor to your Apify account and click **Run**.
2. Enter `query` (e.g. `ΔΕΗ`), or `arGemiList` / `afmList` for direct lookups.
3. Set `maxResults` to cap the run (default 100, max 1000).
4. Export results as JSON, CSV or Excel.

### Input

```json
{
  "query": "vodafone",
  "maxResults": 100
}
```

| Field | Type | Description | Default |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `query` | string | Single name term searched in the GEMI registry (Greek or Latin) | — |
| `queries` | array | List of name terms | — |
| `arGemiList` | array | Direct lookups by GEMI number (e.g. `3861801000`) | — |
| `afmList` | array | Direct lookups by VAT number (e.g. `099361119`) | — |
| `maxResults` | integer | Cap on companies returned | 100 (max 1000) |

### Output

```json
{
  "arGemi": "3861801000",
  "coName": "VODAFONE - PANAFON ΑΕΒΓΕ",
  "title": "VODAFONE",
  "afm": "099361119",
  "companyStatus": "ΕΝ ΕΡΓΕΙΑ",
  "type": "ΑΝΩΝΥΜΗ ΕΤΑΙΡΕΙΑ"
}
```

Status values are returned in Greek exactly as the registry publishes them; run the actor once on a sample to confirm the latest output shape.
