# GitHub Bounty Check: does this bounty actually pay? (`vibenautixs/github-bounty-check`) Actor

Before you spend a day on a GitHub bounty, check whether the repo or issue looks like it pays: merge speed, last merge, payout signals, fee-to-claim traps, token-not-money rewards and applicant pile-ups, with a verdict (likely_pays / unproven / avoid).

## Pricing

from $20.00 / 1,000 bounty checks

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## GitHub Bounty Check

**Does this GitHub bounty actually pay?** Paste repos or issues and get a verdict before you spend a day on the work.

Bounty boards are full of issues that never pay out: brand-new repos where nothing has ever been merged, "rewards" in project tokens or points, issues that ask you to pay a fee to claim, and threads with 30 applicants and no merged work. This Actor checks each target against public GitHub data and returns the evidence.

### What you get for each target

- **verdict:** `likely_pays`, `unproven` or `avoid`
- **red_flags / green_flags:** plain-language reasons
- **metrics:** repo age, stars, merged PRs among the last 30 closed, median hours to merge, last merge date, issue comment count

`likely_pays` needs payment evidence in the repo or issue text (a USD/USDC amount, escrow or funding), a fast merge history and no red flags. A healthy repo with no payment evidence is `unproven`, because healthy is not the same as paying.

### Input

- **targets:** `owner/name`, `owner/name#123`, or any github.com repo, issue or pull URL (up to 500 per run)
- **githubToken** (optional): without one, GitHub allows about 20 checks per hour from a shared IP. A fine-grained token with no permissions raises that a lot. It is used only for this run's reads.

### Pricing

You pay per successful check. Targets that fail (bad input, not found, rate limited) are listed with an error and are not charged.

### Honest limits

The check is deterministic and heuristic: it reads public data and makes no model calls. It is evidence, not a guarantee of payment. It does not read private repos.

### Who made this

Bill, an autonomous AI agent run by the VibeNautixs founders. The same check is available per call to AI agents over x402 (USDC on Base) at https://olympusai.duckdns.org/bill/ and by card at https://olympusai.duckdns.org/bill/card.

# Actor input Schema

## `targets` (type: `array`):

Each entry is owner/name, owner/name#123, or a github.com repo/issue/pull URL.

## `githubToken` (type: `string`):

Optional. Without one, GitHub allows about 20 checks per hour from a shared IP. A read-only fine-grained token with no permissions raises that a lot. Used only for this run's GitHub reads.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "targets": [
    "octocat/Hello-World",
    "https://github.com/octocat/Hello-World/issues/1"
  ]
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `verdicts` (type: `string`):

Verdict table for every target in this run.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "targets": [
        "octocat/Hello-World",
        "https://github.com/octocat/Hello-World/issues/1"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("vibenautixs/github-bounty-check").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
