## French Railway Stations Directory (SNCF) — UIC Codes & GPS

Search the **complete directory of French railway stations** ("liste des gares SNCF") — all **6 469** stations on the national rail network, from Paris Gare du Nord down to unstaffed rural halts and freight-only yards. Get the **UIC code** (the standard identifier used across European rail systems), the commune, whether the station serves **passengers, freight or both**, its line code and its **GPS coordinates**.

**This actor is free.** You only pay your own Apify platform usage.

- Commune and department are stored as **uppercase names** (not INSEE or numeric codes), so filters match on text.
- A station may appear more than once when it sits on several lines (different `lineCode` / `kilometricPoint`).
- The API caps pagination at an offset of **10 000** — narrow your filters to reach deeper result sets.
- The actor retries with backoff and paces requests to stay polite to the source.
