## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Amazon Product Scraper: Search & ASIN Details

Scrape **Amazon search results** for any keyword on **19 marketplaces** and get each product's **rank, ASIN, title, price, rating, reviews count, "bought in past month" and badges** (Amazon's Choice, Best Seller), in the order shoppers see them. Add **full product details for any ASIN**: price and list price, **best sellers rank in every category**, categories, specifications, images, variations, brand or author. Schedule it with a monitor name and every product also gets its **previous rank, rank change and price change**, or switch on **only-new products** to be told when new listings appear in a niche.

You pay **per product delivered** ($1 per 1,000) plus a small fee per results page. No subscription, no API key, no browser to maintain.

Built for:

- **Amazon and print-on-demand sellers**: niche research, competitor prices, ratings and review counts, new listings.
- **Brands and agencies**: keyword rank tracking for your ASINs and competitors, with daily changes.
- **Product researchers and analysts**: best sellers rank, categories and specs for thousands of ASINs.
- **AI agents**: product data on demand through the Apify API or MCP.

### Input examples

The top 100 products for two keywords on amazon.com:

```json
{ "keywords": ["funny cat t shirt", "cat lover gifts"] }
```

Rank tracker, scheduled daily: rank and price changes for the top 100, plus details for the top 5:

```json
{ "keywords": ["insulated tumbler"], "maxProductsPerKeyword": 100, "detailsForTopProducts": 5, "monitorId": "drinkware" }
```

Bulk ASIN lookup on amazon.co.uk:

```json
{ "asins": ["B083TCZDMT", "https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C7QHJ4BT"], "marketplace": "GB" }
```

**Tips**

- **Marketplaces:** United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, India, Australia, Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Turkiye, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Belgium. The marketplace's default language is used unless you pick one.
- **Depth:** results come in pages of up to 100. Up to 700 products per keyword; 101-200 products = 2 pages.
- **Organic by default.** Sponsored products are counted in the keyword row; turn on **Include sponsored products** to get them as rows too (they then count toward the maximum).
- **Monitor name** keeps history per keyword, marketplace, sort and price range in your Apify account (key-value store `amazon-products-monitor`). **Only new products** returns just the ASINs not seen in earlier runs; the first run is the baseline.
- Keywords where the marketplace finds **no results** return a keyword row with `status: no_results`. Amazon then shows unrelated suggestions; those are not delivered or charged as products.
- Runs usually take **1 to 2 minutes** (the data provider's standard queue). Prices and ranks change through the day; `scrapedAt` tells you when each row was read.

### Output example (one product)

```json
{
  "type": "product", "keyword": "coffee mug", "marketplace": "US", "rank": 1, "absoluteRank": 5,
  "asin": "B0DF472VMZ", "title": "Owala SmoothSip Slider Insulated Stainless Steel Coffee Tumbler...",
  "price": 24.99, "currency": "USD", "rating": 4.6, "reviewsCount": 15400, "boughtPastMonth": 9000,
  "isAmazonChoice": true, "isBestSeller": false, "isSponsored": false,
  "url": "https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DF472VMZ", "chargedEvents": ["product"]
}
```

The dataset has four views: **Overview**, **Search results (all fields)**, **Product details** and **Keywords**. Export to CSV, Excel or JSON, or connect it to Google Sheets, Slack, Zapier or Make through Apify integrations.

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | When it is charged |
|---|---|
| Actor start | once per run |
| `product` | one product delivered from a keyword search |
| `search-page` | one results page (up to 100 products) requested for a keyword. Also charged when the page has no new or matching products, because the marketplace is still searched |
| `product-details` | the full product page for one ASIN. Also charged when the marketplace has no page for the ASIN, because it is still looked up |

You are not charged for:

- products already seen in only-new mode, and suggestions shown for keywords with no results;
- failed requests (the run says which inputs failed), invalid or duplicate inputs, keyword rows;
- an ASIN that is both in your list and among the top products: fetched and charged once;
- anything beyond your run's maximum charge. The run stops cleanly and lists what it didn't process.

**Apify free plan:** 3 keywords with up to 100 products each and 10 product details per run. Any paid Apify plan unlocks up to 50 keywords, 700 products per keyword and 500 ASINs.

### Privacy

Product pages can include customer reviews with reviewer names. This Actor never delivers them; you get the rating and the number of reviews only. Monitor history stores ASINs, ranks and prices in your own Apify account; delete the key-value store to reset it.

### Use from AI agents (MCP)

AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can run this Actor through [Apify's MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/mcp) (`https://mcp.apify.com`). The agent can look up the Actor, read its input schema, run it and read the results. Runs use your own Apify account and are charged at the prices on this page.

- **Actor name:** `vncntlabs/amazon-product-scraper`
- **Server URL with only this tool:** `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=vncntlabs/amazon-product-scraper`. The default `https://mcp.apify.com` also works.
- **Claude** (desktop app or claude.ai): Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, paste the server URL, then sign in to Apify.
- **ChatGPT:** turn on Developer mode, then Settings > Apps & Connectors > Create, paste the server URL and choose OAuth.
- **Cursor:** add the server to `mcp.json`:

```json
{ "mcpServers": { "apify": { "url": "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=vncntlabs/amazon-product-scraper" } } }
```

Example prompt: *"Use the Apify Actor vncntlabs/amazon-product-scraper to get the top 50 products for "yoga mat" on amazon.com with details for the top 3, and summarise the price range and best sellers ranks."*

To cap the cost of an agent's run, it can pass `maxTotalChargeUsd` in the run options.

### FAQ

**Where does the data come from?** From DataForSEO's licensed Merchant API, which reads the public Amazon search and product pages for the marketplace you choose. The Actor does not log in anywhere.

**Why is the best sellers rank empty for some products?** Not every product page shows one (many apparel and new listings don't). Books, electronics and most established products do.

**Can I check an ASIN that doesn't exist?** The marketplace sometimes answers an unknown ASIN with a different product's page. Check that `title` matches what you expect.

**Do I get reviews?** No. You get each product's rating and number of reviews, not review texts or reviewer names.

**Is this an official Amazon API?** No. This Actor uses DataForSEO's licensed API and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon. Amazon is a trademark of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
