## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Contact Scraper: Business Emails, Phones & Socials

Paste a list of websites and get **one clean row per site**: the business email addresses, phone numbers, social profiles (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, Etsy shop, Amazon store), the contact page and contact form, and the business name. It reads the homepage plus the pages where contacts usually live (contact, impressum, about, wholesale, press) and stops there, so it's quick and cheap.

You pay **$0.002 per website where it found an email or phone number** ($2 per 1,000). Websites with nothing on them, sites that block the request, dead domains and opted-out sites cost nothing.

Built for:

- **SEO and link building**: turn a list of blogs or SERP results into outreach contacts (press@, editor@, hello@) without opening 200 tabs.
- **Print-on-demand, merch and Etsy sellers**: find the wholesale, stockist, collab and press contacts of shops and brands in your niche.
- **Agencies and freelancers**: get the email, phone and socials of the businesses you want to pitch, with the page each email came from.
- **Developers and AI agents**: one call returns clean JSON for a CRM import, a lead list or an enrichment step.

### What you get

| Field | What's in it |
|---|---|
| `domain`, `website`, `status` | the site, the URL it ended up on, and `ok`, `no-contacts`, `blocked`, `unreachable`, `robots-disallowed`, `suppressed` or `error` |
| `businessName` | from the site's schema.org data, `og:site_name` or the page title |
| `email`, `emails` | business emails on the site's own domain, best first, up to 20 |
| `phone`, `phones` | from `tel:` links, schema.org data and labeled numbers ("Tel.", "Phone"), up to 10 |
| `facebook`, `instagram`, `x`, `linkedin`, `youtube`, `tiktok`, `pinterest`, `threads`, `etsyShop`, `amazonStore` | the business's own profile links (share buttons and single posts are ignored) |
| `contactPageUrl`, `contactFormUrl` | where to reach them when there's no email |
| `country`, `address` | when the site publishes them in its schema.org data |
| `emailSources` | the page each email was found on, so you can check it |
| `emailsRemoved` | how many addresses were left out and why (`personal`, `free_mail`, `other_domain`) |
| `pages`, `pagesCrawled`, `pagesSkippedByRobots`, `error`, `checkedAt`, `charged` | what was read and what you paid for |

Emails are found in `mailto:` links, page text, Cloudflare-protected addresses, `name [at] domain [dot] com` style text and schema.org data.

### Input example

```json
{
  "websites": ["printful.com", "jenis.com", "https://www.kittl.com"],
  "maxPagesPerSite": 5
}
```

Bare domains and full URLs both work. Duplicates of the same domain are checked once. Facebook, Etsy, Amazon and other platform pages aren't websites, so they're skipped for free.

### Output example

Real rows from a run on 2026-11-01 (trimmed):

```json
{
  "domain": "jenis.com",
  "status": "ok",
  "businessName": "Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams",
  "email": "contact@jenis.com",
  "emails": ["contact@jenis.com", "events@jenis.com", "press@jenis.com"],
  "phone": "6144883224",
  "facebook": "https://www.facebook.com/JenisIceCreams",
  "instagram": "https://www.instagram.com/jenisicecreams",
  "tiktok": "https://www.tiktok.com/@jenisicecreams",
  "contactPageUrl": "https://jenis.com/pages/contact-us",
  "emailSources": {"press@jenis.com": "https://jenis.com/pages/contact-us"},
  "emailsRemoved": {"personal": 1},
  "pagesCrawled": 5
}
```

```json
{
  "domain": "kittl.com",
  "status": "no-contacts",
  "businessName": "Kittl",
  "emails": [],
  "linkedin": "https://www.linkedin.com/company/kittl",
  "contactPageUrl": "https://www.kittl.com/contact",
  "note": "No business email or phone number on the pages checked. Not charged.",
  "charged": false
}
```

In our own test run of 60 well-known shop, print-on-demand, SEO and Columbus, Ohio websites, 32 had an email or phone, 12 had only socials or a contact form, 12 refused or rate-limited automated requests and 4 domains didn't resolve. You'd have paid for the 32.

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Price | When it is charged |
|---|---|---|
| Actor start | $0.005 | once per run |
| Website with contacts | $0.002 | one website where at least one business email or phone number was found |

So 100 websites where 60 have contacts cost $0.125. Pages read don't change the price.

You are not charged for:

- websites with no email or phone (you still get their socials and contact page),
- websites that block the request, time out, don't exist, or whose robots.txt doesn't allow crawling,
- opted-out businesses, skipped inputs, and anything past your run's maximum charge. The run stops at your maximum charge and says so.

**Apify free plan:** 10 websites and 5 pages per website per run. Any paid Apify plan unlocks 1,000 websites and 20 pages per website.

### Data and privacy

**Business contacts only.** The Actor reads public pages of the websites you give it and returns contact details the business publishes for itself. Only emails on the website's own domain are returned; free-mail addresses (gmail.com and similar) and personal-looking addresses (such as john.smith@) are removed. For websites in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland only role addresses such as info@, sales@ or press@ are returned. It doesn't log in, fill in forms or read anything behind a login. It follows robots.txt and identifies itself as `VNCNTLabsContactBot`.

**You are responsible for how you use the data.** If you contact businesses, follow the rules that apply to you, for example GDPR and the ePrivacy/PECR rules in the EU and UK (which can require prior consent for marketing emails to sole traders and individuals), CAN-SPAM in the US and CASL in Canada. Always offer an unsubscribe and honor it.

**Opt-out.** A business that wants to be left out can send its website to hello@vncntlabs.com. We add it to a suppression list applied to all future runs of this Actor and of Google Maps Leads, usually within 7 days.

### Use from AI agents (MCP)

AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can run this Actor through [Apify's MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/mcp) (`https://mcp.apify.com`). Runs use your own Apify account and are charged at the prices on this page.

- **Actor name:** `vncntlabs/website-contact-scraper`
- **Server URL with only this tool:** `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=vncntlabs/website-contact-scraper`
- **Cursor** `mcp.json`:

```json
{ "mcpServers": { "apify": { "url": "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=vncntlabs/website-contact-scraper" } } }
```

Example prompt: *"Use the Apify Actor vncntlabs/website-contact-scraper on these 30 blogs and give me a table of the ones with a press or editor email."*

To cap the cost of an agent's run, pass `maxTotalChargeUsd` in the run options.

### FAQ

**Why did a website come back as `blocked`?** Some sites sit behind strict bot protection and refuse automated requests from cloud servers. You aren't charged; the contact page link is often still worth a manual look.

**Why is there no email for a site I know has one?** Many sites only show a contact form, or show the email inside an image or a script. Try `maxPagesPerSite` 10 or 20; it's the same price per site. If the email is personal (firstname@) or on another domain, it's left out on purpose and counted in `emailsRemoved`.

**Does it verify emails?** No. It returns what the business publishes on its own site, with the page it came from. No guessing of patterns like firstname.lastname@.

**Can I use it on Google results?** Yes. Run [Google SERP Scraper](https://apify.com/vncntlabs/google-serp-scraper) for a keyword, then feed the result domains here.

Up to 1,000 websites per run: bare domains (example.com) or URLs (https://example.com/contact). One row per website; duplicates of the same domain are checked once. Social and marketplace pages (Facebook, Etsy, Amazon...) aren't websites and are skipped for free.

## `maxPagesPerSite` (type: `integer`):
