# OLX Real Estate Scraper (`w3crawler/olx-real-estate-scraper`) Actor

Search and scrape real estate listings from OLX across multiple country domains. Filter by property type, keyword, location, and price range. Extracts title, price, bedrooms, bathrooms, area, location, and listing URL — ideal for real estate market research in OLX-dominant markets.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## OLX Real Estate Scraper

Extracts published real-estate listing data from public OLX country pages. The active runner uses bounded browser-compatible HTTP plus JSON-LD and current listing-card parsing; it does not use login, private APIs, or CAPTCHA bypasses.

### Input

- `domain`: supported OLX country root such as `olx.pl`, `olx.pt`, `olx.ro`, or `olx.in`.
- `propertyType`: `for-sale`, `for-rent`, `land`, `commercial`, or `all`.
- `query` and `location`: optional public search terms.
- `priceMin`, `priceMax`, `maxListings`: optional numeric filters and result limit.
- `startUrls`: optional HTTPS URLs on the selected OLX domain.
- `timeoutMs`, `maxBytes`: request safety limits.
- `maxPages`, `requestDelayMs`, `maxRequestRetries`: bounded pagination and retry controls.
- `fixturePath`: optional checked-in local QA fixture; it never silently replaces a live request.
- `proxyConfiguration`: optional standard Apify Proxy settings. Direct requests are the default; enabled runs reuse one valid session ID, and proxy credentials never enter datasets or summaries.

When `startUrls` is omitted, the actor builds a public search URL from the input terms. Output retains listing identity, title, published price/currency, physical property type, transaction type, numeric measures with their original text, location, photos, seller metadata where public, and stable access metadata. Publication and refresh labels are separated into `publishedText`/`refreshedText` and ISO timestamps when the source provides them; unknown negotiability is omitted rather than reported as `false`. A failed or challenged page produces an `olx-diagnostic` row instead of silently claiming success.

### Local verification

```text
npm ci --ignore-scripts --no-audit --no-fund
npm run check
apify run --purge --input-file .actor/input.json
```

The checked-in input performs a bounded live request against the current public OLX Poland apartment-sale category. `validate-datasets.js` validates every local dataset row and checks the `OUTPUT` summary counts.

Country-specific public routes are implemented for Poland, Ukraine, Portugal, and Romania, with locale-consistent request headers. The Ukraine QA input validates the apartment-sale mode against real OLX.ua records. Output omits redundant raw source payloads.

The result-card parser is merged with richer JSON-LD/embedded evidence by listing ID or URL. This preserves card identity and current price/location while filling structured description, seller, physical property type, dates, attributes, and images when the same public listing exposes them.

You can download the dataset in various formats such as JSON, HTML, CSV, or Excel. Public listing rows retain property attributes and provenance, while access failures are emitted as minimal diagnostics.

# Actor input Schema

## `domain` (type: `string`):

Supported public OLX country domain, for example olx.pl, olx.pt, olx.ro, or olx.in.

## `propertyType` (type: `string`):

Search term/filter for the requested real-estate market segment.

## `query` (type: `string`):

Optional public search keyword, such as apartment or villa.

## `location` (type: `string`):

Optional city or region search term.

## `priceMin` (type: `integer`):

Optional minimum price in the selected country's currency.

## `priceMax` (type: `integer`):

Optional maximum price in the selected country's currency.

## `maxListings` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of unique real-estate listings to emit.

## `maxPages` (type: `integer`):

Bounded number of page variants requested per source URL.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional HTTPS OLX URLs on the selected domain. When omitted, a public search URL is built from the filters.

## `timeoutMs` (type: `integer`):

Per-request timeout from 5000 to 120000 milliseconds.

## `maxBytes` (type: `integer`):

Maximum HTML/JSON response size from 1000 to 15000000 bytes.

## `requestDelayMs` (type: `integer`):

Bounded delay before retrying a failed public request.

## `maxRequestRetries` (type: `integer`):

Bounded retries for transient or access-boundary responses.

## `fixturePath` (type: `string`):

Optional checked-in HTML/JSON/TXT fixture path for deterministic local QA; never used as a live fallback.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional standard Apify Proxy settings. Direct requests are the default; enabled runs reuse one consistent session and do not bypass access controls.
