## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Taiwan New Company Registrations (公司設立登記) — Official MOEA Data

Get the list of **newly incorporated companies in Taiwan**, month by month, straight from the official Ministry of Economic Affairs open data, as clean English-keyed JSON, CSV or Excel. Filter by month, county/city, registered capital and company-name keyword, and optionally enrich every company with its **registered business items (營業項目)** and current status, so you can find, for example, every new software company in Taipei with at least NT$1 million capital.

### Who is it for

- **B2B sales and lead generation**: accountants, bookkeeping firms, banks, insurers, office-space and SaaS vendors who want to reach companies in their first weeks.
- **Market and investment research**: track how many companies are set up per month, by city, capital size or industry.
- **KYC / due-diligence pipelines and AI agents** that need a reliable, structured feed of new Taiwanese entities with their 8-digit Unified Business Number (統一編號).

### Why use it

- **Official source**, not a scraped directory: the monthly Company Registration List published on data.gov.tw (dataset 6047), plus the Commerce Industrial Services Portal open API for business items.
- **English field names**, **ISO dates** (the source uses ROC dates such as 1150911 → 2026-09-11), numeric capital in TWD, county and district split out of the address.
- **Latest month by default**: leave `months` empty and the Actor finds the newest published month automatically (the government publishes around the 14th of the following month).
- **Industry filter**: `businessKeyword` matches the official business item names (e.g. 資訊軟體服務業, 餐館業) or code prefixes (e.g. `I301`, `F5`).
- **Privacy by default**: the representative's personal name is **not** output unless you turn on `includeRepresentative`.
- **Polite to the government servers**: one request at a time, a delay between requests (default 1 s), 3 retries with backoff, and clear error messages.

### Input example

```json
{
  "months": ["2026-09"],
  "counties": ["臺北市"],
  "minCapital": 1000000,
  "businessKeyword": "資訊軟體",
  "maxItems": 100
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `months` | `YYYY-MM` list. Empty = latest published month. |
| `counties` | County/city of the company address (Chinese names, e.g. 臺北市, 新北市). Empty = all. |
| `minCapital`, `maxCapital` | Registered capital range in TWD. |
| `nameKeyword` | Company name contains, e.g. 科技, 生技. |
| `businessKeyword` | Business item name or code prefix. Triggers one extra lookup per candidate company. |
| `includeBusinessItems` | Add business items and status to every row (one extra request per company). |
| `includeRepresentative` | Output the representative's name (off by default; see Privacy). |
| `maxItems` | Maximum rows (default 20). |
| `maxBusinessLookups` | Safety cap on extra per-company lookups (default 300). |

### Output example

Real output from a run with the input above (2026-09 list):

```json
{
  "businessId": "61926247",
  "companyName": "日商特旅發股份有限公司",
  "approvedDate": "2026-09-29",
  "registrationMonth": "2026-09",
  "county": "臺北市",
  "district": "中山區",
  "address": "臺北市中山區南京東路2段101號12樓",
  "capitalTwd": 1000000,
  "companyStatus": "核准登記",
  "businessItems": [
    { "code": "F113050", "description": "電腦及事務性機器設備批發業" },
    { "code": "I301010", "description": "資訊軟體服務業" },
    { "code": "I301020", "description": "資料處理服務業" },
    { "code": "ZZ99999", "description": "除許可業務外，得經營法令非禁止或限制之業務" }
  ],
  "source": "Ministry of Economic Affairs, Administration of Commerce — Company Registration List (Monthly), data.gov.tw dataset 6047",
  "sourceUrl": "https://data.gcis.nat.gov.tw/od/file?oid=BE262479-A82A-4113-B575-62335E1E151D",
  "license": "Open Government Data License, version 1.0 (Taiwan)"
}
```

(`businessItems` shortened here; the real row lists all 11 items.) With the default input (latest month, 20 rows, no enrichment) a row has the same fields without `companyStatus` and `businessItems`. A `RUN_SUMMARY` record in the key-value store reports months used, rows pushed and lookups made.

### Pricing

Suggested pay-per-event price: **US$0.003 per result (US$3 per 1,000 companies)**, charged through the default dataset-item event, plus the standard Actor start event.

| Use case | Results | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Default run (latest month, 20 rows) | 20 | US$0.06 |
| Taipei, one month (693 in 2026-09) | 693 | ~US$2.08 |
| Whole of Taiwan, one month (2,915 in 2026-09) | 2,915 | ~US$8.75 |

Runs that fail or match nothing push no rows and are not charged per result. Enrichment (`businessKeyword`, `includeBusinessItems`) makes runs slower (about 1 s per candidate company) but does not change the per-result price.

### FAQ

**How fresh is the data?** The government publishes each month's list around the 14th of the following month. Business items and status come live from the official API at run time.

**Can I get the representative / director names?** Only with `includeRepresentative: true`. A representative's name is personal data under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act; you are responsible for having a lawful purpose.

**Why is a company in the list but marked with another status?** The monthly list is a snapshot of approvals; `companyStatus` (when enrichment is on) is today's status, so a company may already be dissolved or changed.

**Does the business-keyword search scan all companies?** It looks up candidates one by one after the cheaper filters (county, capital, name) are applied, up to `maxBusinessLookups`. Add a county or capital filter to make it faster.

**Phone numbers or emails?** Not included; the official data does not contain them.
