## Pricing

from $2.80 / 1,000 posts

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Facebook Posts Scraper — Pages, Groups & Comments, No Login

Scrape posts from public **Facebook Pages and public Facebook Groups** without a Facebook account,
cookies or login. Paste Page or Group links and get one clean row per post: the text, photos and
videos, the exact publish time, total reactions broken down by type, comment and share counts, and
optionally the newest comments. Turn on **Only new posts** and schedule it: every run then delivers
just the posts you have not received before, so a monitoring schedule never pays twice for the same post.

Built for social-listening and brand-monitoring agencies, competitive-intelligence teams and
researchers who need a dependable Facebook post feed without managing accounts.

### What data can this Facebook scraper extract?

| Field | What you get |
|---|---|
| `text` | The post text (null for posts published without a caption, such as memes) |
| `createdAt` | Exact publish time, ISO 8601 (UTC) |
| `postType` | text, photo, album, video, reel, link, event or share |
| `media` | Photo files, and the video page, thumbnail and duration for videos and reels |
| `reactionsCount` + `reactionLikeCount` … `reactionAngryCount` | Total reactions and the full breakdown: Like, Love, Care, Haha, Wow, Sad, Angry |
| `commentsCount`, `sharesCount`, `videoViewCount` | Engagement as Facebook shows it |
| `linkUrl`, `sharedPostUrl` | The shared link (unwrapped from Facebook's redirect) or the original of a re-share |
| `sourceName`, `sourceId`, `sourceType` | Which Page or Group the post came from |
| `authorName`, `authorId`, `authorUrl` | Group posts: the member who posted (switch off with "Include author names") |
| `comments` | Optional: the newest top-level comments with text, time, reaction and reply counts |

Every run also writes an **OUTPUT** record with a status per Page or Group (read, nothing new, private
group, not available, blocked) and a ready-to-paste `rerunInput` for anything unfinished.

### Example output

With **Include comments** on, each post also carries a `comments` array:
`[{ "commentId", "text", "createdAt", "reactionsCount", "replyCount", "commentUrl", "authorName", "authorId", "authorUrl" }]`.

### How to scrape Facebook posts (quick start)

1. Paste one or more Facebook Page or public Group links into **Facebook Page or Group URLs**.
   Full links, `m.facebook.com` links, `profile.php?id=` links and bare Page names (`NASA`) all work.
2. Set **Max posts per Page or Group**.
3. Click **Start**. Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read them via the API.

Latest 50 posts from two Pages and a Group:

```json
{
  "startUrls": ["https://www.facebook.com/NASA", "https://www.facebook.com/bbcnews", "https://www.facebook.com/groups/874728723021553"],
  "maxPostsPerSource": 50
}
```

A daily monitor that only returns new posts, with their newest comments:

```json
{
  "startUrls": ["https://www.facebook.com/NASA", "https://www.facebook.com/groups/874728723021553"],
  "maxPostsPerSource": 50,
  "onlyNewPosts": true,
  "includeComments": true
}
```

Everything posted in the last 7 days:

```json
{
  "startUrls": ["https://www.facebook.com/humansofnewyork"],
  "maxPostsPerSource": 200,
  "postedAfter": "7 days"
}
```

### How does "Only new posts" monitoring work?

Save the input as a task and schedule it (hourly, daily, weekly). The first run returns the newest
posts as the starting point. Every later run returns only posts that this monitor has not delivered
before, and is charged only for those. A run with nothing new finishes successfully with
"No new posts since the last run".

- Each saved task keeps its own memory. To share one memory between tasks, give them the same
  **Monitor ID** (under Advanced).
- If more new posts are waiting than **Max posts per Page or Group** allows, the run says so; raise
  the limit so a schedule never skips posts.
- If a run of the same monitor is still in progress when the next one starts, the new run stops
  before fetching instead of delivering the same posts twice.

### How much does it cost to scrape Facebook posts?

Pay per result: you pay for each post delivered, and for each comment when you turn comments on. The
current price per event is shown above on this page. Private groups, personal profiles, links
Facebook reports as unavailable, and posts you already received in monitoring mode are never charged.

### Use cases

- **Social listening and brand monitoring:** schedule "Only new posts" on your clients' and competitors'
  Pages and the public Groups where their customers talk; pipe new posts and comments to Slack, Sheets or
  your warehouse.
- **Competitive intelligence:** compare posting cadence and engagement by type (`reactionLoveCount`,
  `sharesCount`, `videoViewCount`) across competitors' Pages; sort by `reactionsCount` to see what lands.
- **Community research:** collect a public Group's recent discussion with `postedAfter`, then analyse
  topics and sentiment on `text` and `comments`.
- **Content and campaign tracking:** filter `postType = reel` or `video` to study which formats a Page
  invests in and how they perform.

### FAQ

#### Do I need a Facebook account or cookies?

No. The scraper only reads what Facebook shows to logged-out visitors. It never logs in, never uses
cookies from your account, and cannot see anything behind a login.

#### Which Facebook pages and groups can it read?

Public Facebook Pages (businesses, brands, media, organisations, public figures' Pages) and public
Groups. **Private groups** and **personal profiles** need a login, so they are reported as
`NOT_PUBLIC` / `PERSONAL_PROFILE` in the OUTPUT record, free of charge.

#### Can it search Facebook for a keyword or hashtag?

No. Facebook requires a login for search, so this scraper works from Page and Group links. To narrow
results, use **Only posts newer than** and filter the `text` field in your own tools.

#### How far back can it go?

Pages are read backwards in time, 25 posts per request, up to **Max posts per Page or Group**. Public
groups are read through Facebook's public group feed, which only reaches a limited recent window; when
the feed ends, the run says so (`no more posts in the public feed`) instead of returning nothing.

#### Why are some author IDs or profile links empty?

Facebook hides the numeric ID and profile link of many private individuals from logged-out visitors.
Those fields are then `null`: the scraper never guesses or fills in a value.

#### What does it return for comments?

The newest top-level comments of each post (replies are not included), up to **Max comments per post**.
`[]` means Facebook shows no comments for that post (none yet, or commenting is turned off); `null`
means Facebook did not serve them during this run, and you are not charged for comments on that post.

#### What happens when Facebook refuses a request?

Facebook rate-limits some IP addresses, sometimes for a while. The scraper detects every refusal and
retries on fresh IPs with growing pauses, and a Page or Group that was refused outright gets one more
try at the end of the run. If it still cannot be read, it is marked `BLOCKED` in the OUTPUT record,
nothing is charged for it, and `rerunInput` lists it so you can run it again later. The same goes for a
source Facebook stopped serving part-way: you keep (and pay for) the posts already delivered, and
`rerunInput` lists the source.

#### Is it legal to scrape Facebook?

This scraper only collects publicly visible data from public Pages and Groups, without logging in. In
*Meta Platforms v. Bright Data* (N.D. Cal., 2024), the court found that Meta's terms did not bar
logged-off scraping of public data. Posts and comments can still contain personal data, so the
GDPR and similar laws apply to how you use them: collect only what you need, switch off **Include
author names** if you don't need names, and make sure you have a legitimate purpose. This is not legal
advice; ask your lawyer about your specific use.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

One Page or public Group per line. Accepts full links (https://www.facebook.com/NASA, https://www.facebook.com/groups/874728723021553), m.facebook.com links, profile.php?id= links or a bare Page name like NASA. Personal profiles and private groups cannot be read without logging in and are reported as such, free of charge.

## `maxPostsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

The newest posts to collect from each Page or Group. With "Only new posts" on, this caps how many new posts one run delivers per source; the run tells you if more new posts were waiting.

## `onlyNewPosts` (type: `boolean`):

For scheduled runs: returns only posts this monitor has not delivered before, so you never pay twice for the same post. The first run returns the newest posts as the starting point. Each saved task keeps its own memory (or set a Monitor ID under Advanced).

## `includeComments` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the newest top-level comments to each post (up to "Max comments per post" under Advanced). Billed per comment returned. Replies are not included.

## `includeAuthorNames` (type: `boolean`):

Includes the name, ID and profile link of group-post authors and commenters. On by default. Turn it off to leave them out - they are personal data, so skip them if you don't need them. Page names are always included.

## `postedAfter` (type: `string`):

Optional. Skips posts older than this date (2026-09-01) or period (7 days, 24 hours). Collection stops once the feed reaches older posts.

## `maxCommentsPerPost` (type: `integer`):

Only used with "Include comments". The newest top-level comments, up to this many per post.

## `monitorId` (type: `string`):

Only used with "Only new posts". Runs that share a Monitor ID share one memory of delivered posts. Leave empty: a saved task then keeps its own memory, and a run started without a task remembers per list of links. Letters, digits, - and \_ only.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Residential proxies are the default; Facebook serves logged-out pages most reliably to residential IPs. Change it only if you have your own residential or mobile pool.
