## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## California Businesses With No Website Listed

This actor covers **California only**: it searches a bundled California subset (6,798 business listings, up to 300 per city, in 23 cities: Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, Long Beach, Oakland, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, Huntington Beach, Glendale, Torrance, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Oxnard, San Luis Obispo, Bakersfield, Fresno, Riverside, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Modesto, Stockton and Pasadena) of the Overture Maps Places open-data release for business listings whose `websites` field is empty. Public places (beaches, parks, piers, government offices, schools, churches, hospitals, county and city offices, stations, theme-park attractions, public courts and pools, unions, youth leagues, skate parks, campus buildings), national chains (banks, coffee chains, big health systems, franchise insurance agents) and benefit-plan filings, and listings with neither a street address nor a phone are filtered out by category and name rules, so charged rows are listings with an address or phone. The rules are not perfect: an occasional nonprofit or public office can remain. It is useful for agencies that want a transparent starting list for local-business prospecting.

It does **not** say that a business has no website. It says only that the listing had no website in the named Overture source release. Check the business yourself before contacting it.

### Input

Choose a city in the included index, optionally add a category/name keyword, and set up to 300 results.

### Output

Each charged result has the listing name, source category, city, address, phone when supplied by the source (2,724 of the 6,798 listings, about 40%, have an address but no phone; 21 have a phone but no street), source record ID, and an explicit source/disclaimer field. The actor does not crawl websites, collect emails, or use Google Maps.

### Source and licence

Data is from Overture Maps Places release 2026-09-23.0. Individual source records carry the applicable source notices; this actor preserves them in `source_licenses` and `source_datasets`. Overture's published attribution and licence guidance applies.

### Pricing

$5 per 1,000 emitted listings ($0.005 each). Empty searches are free.

### Responsible use

Comply with applicable marketing law, including CAN-SPAM. Do not treat the output as proof of a business's online presence. Removal or source questions: support@weio.ai.
