## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Telegram Channel Scraper

Scrape **public Telegram channels** with no login, no phone number, no bot token and no API keys. Get every post's text, date, views, reactions, photos, videos, links, hashtags and forwards, plus channel stats such as subscribers and media counts.

Built for news monitoring, OSINT, crypto and finance signals, brand tracking, and research. Schedule it with **Only new posts** turned on to get a live feed of new posts from the channels you follow.

### Features

- **Any public channel:** enter a username (`durov`), `@handle` or link (`https://t.me/s/durov`). Add as many channels as you like.
- **Full history:** pages back from the newest post until your limit or start date.
- **Keyword search:** uses Telegram's own in-channel search, so only matching posts are fetched and charged.
- **Date range:** collect only posts between two dates.
- **Monitoring mode:** returns only posts you haven't received in earlier runs with the same input.
- **Engagement data:** view counts and every reaction with its count, including paid Star reactions.
- **Channel profile:** title, description, subscribers, photo, video and link counts.
- **Low cost:** reads Telegram's public web preview over plain HTTP, with no browser and usually no proxy needed.

### Input

```json
{
  "channels": ["durov", "https://t.me/s/telegram"],
  "maxPostsPerChannel": 200,
  "searchQuery": "",
  "dateFrom": "2026-09-01",
  "onlyNewPosts": false
}
```

### Output

One row per post (`"type": "post"`), and one per channel when **Include channel info** is on (`"type": "channel"`):

```json
{
  "type": "post",
  "channel": "durov",
  "postId": 545,
  "url": "https://t.me/durov/545",
  "date": "2026-08-30T09:10:19+00:00",
  "text": "A high-school student just made $20,000 from a Telegram Gift. ...",
  "views": 2570000,
  "reactions": [{"emoji": "paid_star", "customEmojiId": null, "count": 4410}, {"emoji": null, "customEmojiId": "5399847211989246390", "count": 41800}],
  "reactionsTotal": 68070,
  "photos": [],
  "videos": [],
  "hasVideo": false,
  "links": ["https://..."],
  "hashtags": [],
  "forwardedFrom": null,
  "channelTitle": "Pavel Durov",
  "channelSubscribers": 10500000,
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-03T03:45:23Z"
}
```

Export to JSON, CSV or Excel, or use the API, webhooks, Make, Zapier, n8n or MCP.

### Pricing

- **$0.70 per 1,000 posts**
- **$1.00 per 1,000 channel profiles**

There is no start fee. You can set a maximum cost per run, and the Actor stops cleanly when it's reached.

### Notes and limits

- **Public channels only.** Private channels and groups, and channels that have turned off web preview, can't be read. They're reported with `"error": "not_public_or_not_found"` and aren't charged.
- **Reactions:** Telegram shows most reactions as custom emoji. You get their emoji ID and count, and the emoji character where Telegram provides one.
- **No personal data:** the Actor doesn't collect members or subscriber lists. Use the data in line with Telegram's terms and the privacy laws that apply to you.

# Actor input Schema

## `channels` (type: `array`):

Public channel usernames or links, e.g. <code>durov</code>, <code>@telegram</code> or <code>https://t.me/s/durov</code>.

## `maxPostsPerChannel` (type: `integer`):

Newest posts first. The Actor pages back through history until it reaches this number or the date limit.

## `searchQuery` (type: `string`):

Only posts matching this keyword, using Telegram's own in-channel search.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

Only posts on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD).

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

Only posts on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD).

## `onlyNewPosts` (type: `boolean`):

Return only posts not returned by earlier runs with the same channels and keyword. Schedule it to get a live feed.

## `includeChannelInfo` (type: `boolean`):

Also output one row per channel: title, description, subscribers, photos, videos, links, verified.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not usually needed: Telegram's web preview is public. Turn on Apify Proxy for very large runs.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "channels": [
    "durov"
  ],
  "maxPostsPerChannel": 100,
  "onlyNewPosts": false,
  "includeChannelInfo": true,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

The dataset rows.
